Let's spice up the holiday season! Your challenge, should you accept, it is to make a short Christmas-themed game in any Maker engine sold in the Komodo store. The game is meant to be short, so don't overdo it with the plugins and the systems! The point of the contest is to finish something short, fun, and ~sweet~ just in time for Christmas. NOTE: This event is graciously hosted by Wind Ryder dev, @TESTOSTERONE and is being overseen by myself (Ms Littlefish) and a few of the other RMW moderators (@hiddenone and @bgillisp ). I (Ms Littlefish) will be holding on to the prize pool until winners are announced. You may begin working on your projects once this announcement has been made public. Submission Dates: Dec. 14th - Dec. 21st, 11:59PM EST (Dec 22nd 4:59AM UTC) Winners announced: Dec. 24th! *************************************************** Your project must be 20 minutes or less of gameplay for the average play through. You may team up with someone else (but the prize pool is for the entire team). Open to any Makers published in the Komodo store. You must have the rights to all materials used. Judging Criteria: Christmas Spirit Does it make players excited for Christmas? Creativity How well do you use the theme to make an interesting game? Visuals Are the graphics used well? Gameplay Is it fun to play? Honestly same here, I've had family over the past week and barely have time to myself.

I did start it though and have bern working entirely on mechanics

I just saw this now! Sorry if this question was asked and buried somewhere in the 14 pages, but in terms of copyright stuff - I assume it is ok to use universally christmas-related IP like the grinch, frosty the snowman, etc. ? Just want to make sure :)

Those aren't public domain, so no. You could parody them, but it would have to be an obvious parody.

As @AquaEcho pointed out, Googling either of those characters immediately shows they're both under copyright. "Christmas" doesn't own anything.

So...they're okay to use if you obtained a license to do so? Just like anything else you use in your game.

I think the sorbet Christmas colors here are so delightful. Pink and lime green really speaks to me in a way that I don't think classic red and green would have communicated. I like-y.

If I was a judge and you are a contestant, I would give you -100.

than more people can play and vote :D (not that it get the most one though),
but I hope for a nice rating of game play at least :).
