I'm almost done with my entry.
Simple and fun, you say? Ask and you shall receive:
Took me exactly one week to make it (the game, not the title screen, lol). I guess there's still plenty of time to polish and test it, now.
*Not related to Harold from MV, just took the name for the pun with Dickens' tale. (Ok, maybe I also choose the name for its marquee value :p)
Nah, out of jokes i've began to set up the assets for everyone: Status busts, cut-ins, faces, everything that requires drawing since it's the most difficult thing for me.
Almost done here, just some stuff and cutscene when able, should be done
in 2-3 days hopefully (it ain't easy), but it should be working correctly and
doable, else its "almost" impossible for a lot of you :D
Oooh, ooh! Before I forget (and make the Day #3 compilation lol), make sure to check out your advent presents from yesterday! See if you find the magic resource!
I also want to shout out @Candacis again for continuing to build out options for MZ snow-y places here and here. If you own MZ and the MZ style fits your graphic design, you have a great meat and potatoes for the village.
@TeiRaven I agree, I usually save the Title Screen for near the end of Development if it's a game jam. That way I have a feel for the game's tone. @JohnDoeNews I see Harold wrote a book before he became an adventurer:hwink:
I kept my game limited to a single map so I could actually finish. I have most of the systems running but they lack any semblance of "Fun" at the moment.
Let's see, I did the intro dialogue, I edited some busts, I made a bunch of snow autotiles, I scoured Avery's resource thread, I started one indoor and one outdoor map.
I screwed up on a map and made over/under "bridges" even tiles instead of an odd number tiles and it is off now by half a tile. D'oh! Thought I was making good progress until that point. Lmao. It's parallax/overlay mapping and I'm not going to redo the map either.:kaolivid:
I know this might not be appropriate place to ask but I need some help coming up with a puzzle for my jam entry. I am trying to figure out how to incorporate a puzzle using a nativity set as a theme or something. I have tried to think of anything but I am kind of stumped.

Fetch quest to bring baby Jesus the best gift with potentially funny results.
Hm, the obvious choice is to make a sliding block puzzle, but I understand if you don't want to do that.
Hmm, that's actually not a bad idea. Getting pieces of the set in the right spot would work.
I guess sometimes the simple solution is the best solution. @AquaEcho At a quick glance I thought you said "revive" Baby Jesus not get him a gift.
