  1. @Kes are you set on the diamond-shape? I wud maybe try a hexagonal or octagonal shape, see how that looks? Might be easier to fix the perspective? :kaophew: Also, I assume you won't settle for a simple square shape?
  2. @alice_gristle I'm using an hexagonal shape for the towers in this fort and the tiling won't work on a smaller size than I've done for them. I suspect a better artist than me might be able to juggle it, but having spent the last hour trying to make it smaller and failing I don't think that's an option.

It may be that I shall have to follow your final suggestion and go square, but tbh I was trying to avoid that because it is a bit boring. (imho) Still I suppose one has to go with what one can manage, not with what one would like.

    Thank you for your suggestions.
  3. Is a vaulted pillar of some kind an option? They look hella cool to me and you can start them out as a square shape! :kaoluv:
  4. @alice_gristle Now there's a thought. I shall play around with that idea.
  5. @alice_gristle After much hair-pulling I've managed to do an octagonal column. What do you think? Any better or not?

  6. @Kes, it looks really good! :wub Just thicken the outlines a bit to make it stand out from the floor tiles more, and I think you set!
  7. The only input I'd have on the column--and it might be a WIP so apologies if this was tweaked already--is that the darkness in the middle has some noticeable bits of stray darker pixels bordering it, remnants from the existing tileset it was fashioned from, perhaps. I notice that they aren't visible in certain setups though viewing from both my phone and monitor which have different brightnesses--and only noticeable when the brightness is cranked up. But figured I'd point it out just to be safe, haha.

I've attached a screenshot with the brightness levels adjusted just to show what I mean if it becomes more apparent that way

  8. @FrigidGaze Thanks for pointing those out. Fortunately those stray pixels only come from my own larger version of the hexagon, so quickly eliminated.

    @Holder Thank you.

what about something like this where it;s blocked at the bottom to show it;s not an angled wall? enforced to look like it's built to support.
  10. @Holder Brilliant suggestion, I shall take it up immediately.
    Thank you very much.

Bad hair day portrait.:kaocry:Experimentin' with a resolution higher than my usual! I wanna use this (or at least this style?) in a kooky Dying Earth rip-off dating game... :kaoswt:
  12. Hi y'all! Sorry for hijackin' this thread again!:kaoswt: This time I did some pixel art landscapes!

They come packaged with jugendstil-inspired borders! Also, there's a space in the middle for a big character portrait, but I can't add them in 'cuz, umm, PG-13.:kaoswt: Anyway WHADDYA THINK? :kaoluv:
  13. I love the subtle details, very story book looking. Reminds me of old Sierra/Lucas games
  14. I like them, I think they work well.
  15. Thanks y'all! :wub The NES palette and me own dogged desire to limit myself give me headaches, but I'm really pleased with the results!

A WIP of my title screen!
  17. @BunBlitz, yo overall design looks good! :kaoluv: I wud have to see the title and the movin' background to know for sure tho, cud be the character is too big? The character looks really sweet tho! I especially adore her dress! :wub Hands need a bit of work maybe?
