Thank you, but it's definitely just me. I've been having issues with game crashes, and it's always the same, but for some maddening reason, the screen freezes on a different color every time.
There's a small chance there is an issue, but I highly doubt it, given that your game didn't give error messages, or even close down, my computer crashed XD.

Thanks for playing mine, sorry it didn't feel good. I wasn't sure if I needed to explain more/better what the combat system was doing.
I've played yours too, though I'm working on a long list and notes that might post tomorrow or Sunday. -
Question, are we allowed to update our games after the submission period closes? Because I just realised I had a little bug :kaoback:
-
We can update them but the judges won't play the new version, as I understand it.Question, are we allowed to update our games after the submission period closes? Because I just realised I had a little bug :kaoback:

I wuz about to play yo game, but please do update it so I can get the latest version! :kaoluv:Question, are we allowed to update our games after the submission period closes? Because I just realised I had a little bug
-
I'm not updating my game unless someone reports a gamebreaking bug. It's back to working on my main game.
-
@alice_gristle did you see my stream of your game? I know you couldn't make it live but it's available VoD. ^_^
-
@Trihan yay! :wub Ima take a look later! You're a sweetie byte!

Thanks for trying it out! For the hot chocolate: You needed to interact with the cups (to the left of the hot chocolate) first and then click on the hot chocolate.@slimmmeiske2 - I loved the concept, but I couldn't seem to get the hot chocolate. I tried everything, but it didn't work. Sorry!

I had my favorites among the them all, but to choose from my
favorites was kinda hard to pick one, so I did a mini loting to pick
1 to vote for =)
@TRIDIUM I know it lacked the sound, but that makes the frustrating
much worse I think, and also kinda busy between holidays, so searching
the sounds could add some extra weeks to search in a very short of time
in RL, so I used xmas music to listen :)
for everyone that didn't made it to the end of the level or tried while
skipping, most people will be focused on the jumping as it could be
difficulty, specially with a square window.
the final level was the most fun one to built as it will read if paid attention:
MERRY CHRISTMAS =) there will be 2 endings.
level are kinda short on level 1-6 (2min or less (perfect jumping under 1 min).
final level 5+ min.
with patience ~20min, with alot of patience up to 45-60.
I will update after voting to skip to lv 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
and skipping to end of level 7 if you want to see the ending.
(which give you a choice on good ending or bad ending).
but keep the options to play as normal as well as it can be really frustrating
if you aren't good in jumping or platformers as its a bit restrictive to timed
jumping and I'm really sorry if you cannot beat level 2+ though.
so this option will be available around 27th hopefully. -
I wish there was more time for the player voting because there is no way I can play all these games in such a short amount of time. Therefore, I probably won't vote. But I will play them all eventually and offer feedback where I can.
I'm not sure how the number of entries compare to previous Game Jams, but maybe there needs to be a few more days added for judging and giving everyone a chance to play them? 34 is quite a lot. I feel bad for the judges.
I also want to apologize to everyone who finds the current version of my game too slow. I totally get that. It was a design choice that doesn't work very well for the theme of this Game Jam. Actually, I'm not sure my whole concept fits into many of the judging categories very well. And, of course, many people will probably never like the pacing choice of not giving the player the ability to click through text. I'm not even sure how I feel about it. There are obvious benefits to doing it the usual way.
It was the first time I tried that option. And, I could be crazy, but it seems that the timing is different from my in game play testing and how it seems to be timed after deployment. I don't think it should be different, but it seemed even slower after deployment.
And my entry does have a LOT of reading. And probably my color choices of text wasn't always the wisest either.
I also realize that I really need to add more options to skip portions. For final testing, I had options to basically skip almost up to the mini game start. I probably should have left those in and let players decide what to skip.
But this is what gaining experience is all about. Learning as you go.
I just want to congratulate everyone who finished and submitted their entry, as well as those who worked on one, but then ran out of time or anything else. It is the effort that you put in that matters. And hopefully you all had fun.
And if you do have the patience to play my game entry before I update it, I appreciate your feedback or if you discover anything I missed when I ran out of time.
Thanks again to the sponsor and judges. This was actually a great experience and I learned a lot.

@Trihan Unfortunately, no. One of my puppies had a minor procedure yesterday so I was helping my wife monitor her and keep her big sister from bothering her.
I did watch a play through that SlaughtyStudios posted on my Itch.io page, which was weird to watch. Not gonna lie.
I hope it wasn't too painful for you or the viewers! :LZSlol:
I would love to watch a recording of other people playing all the entries. Then I might actually be able to get through them all to vote! -
It's still available VoD so if you get a chance you can check it out whenever. I'll put it on my YT channel before it expires. :)@Trihan Unfortunately, no. One of my puppies had a minor procedure yesterday so I was helping my wife monitor her and keep her big sister from bothering her.

@Trihan Awesome! And I just saw that you told @alice_gristle the same thing a few posts ago. I had to stop and think what VoD was! HA!
And hopefully I am not the only one, but can you lead an old man to where, exactly, I can find that? It didn't look like any of your signature links would be what I want and I don't think I have ever watch a live stream of anything before. I am probably missing something obvious. -
@ZombieKidzRule, you can find the links to the stream on @Trihan's profile page, at least! :kaoluv:
-
It was in my status update, but to save you the search it's https://twitch.tv/trihanstreams

@alice_gristle and @Trihan Thanks! I actually just searched the forums and found it just before I saw your responses.
See! You can teach an old dog new tricks! There is a search function for a reason.
Now I have used the bookmark wizardry to make sure I don't lose track of it. -
If you've played my game, you'll have seen that you quite clearly can't teach an old dog new tricks. ;)@alice_gristle and @Trihan Thanks! I actually just searched the forums and found it just before I saw your responses.
