  1. So, Gianna's gonna be a fire breathing dragon of somehin'?
  2. Ehm no, she's a baddie, that's the first clue. You might have to look at what female fantasy evils amount to.
  3. Alright, I'm out.
Just gonna have to play the game when it comes out!
  4. Hmm, a baddie who.... becomes hotter....

Yeah I donno, a fire nymph?
  5. OK, THAT'S IT.
    DO NOT OPEN

  6. Alright, paybacks!
Hope you like it! @TESTOSTERONE inspired me to try Chibi, and man is it easier.

  7. THAT'S AMAZING! THANK YOU!
  8. Nice job, Tridium! Cute and happy.
  9. While you wait for the updates on the type A/B demos and the upcoming Type M demo, review the footage of our multiplayer addition!

    ===
  10. Sort of a devlog and not:

Shadows of the Earth: The Vrila'an Legend will be receiving a new update to the A/B Demos, and along with these, comes the Type M demo, expected date: TBA

We are also receiving the characters from @ilmania , @TESTOSTERONE , @SGHarlekin & @TheAM-Dol 's games (sorry for the ping guys, but it's the official announcement!)
There's a lot of changes but i don't want to spoil ya'.
I'll leave you with the cameo battle demo!

PD: Date changed because MV demands it (darn it MV!)
  11. So here's my update:
I'm currently working on the area where Fia, Prim, Tiqee and Fidel can unleash all their power with our cast. (And restoring the animations that mv blew off)
Called the World Rift, it's where all universes connect, the fact that it's open means something dangerous is lurking there
    imagen_2023-11-24_194133944.png

Here's one part of the full area. Enemies here are very strong and resistant to elemental attacks, however, there is one "element" they are not resistant to.

This dungeon will be accesible after unlocking the cameo fighters. How?

    How to:
    Defeat them at the Colisseum
  12. New Devlog!
As you might have noticed, we have completed the Third and Final Cameo Battle! The Four participants come from their worlds to help hour heroes reach their goal just like the other four! Never hurts to have more allies, does it?

    Reveal_3&4_F.png

So, in an attempt to share knowledge between worlds and the like, Training Battles are going to be added to Shadows of the Earth: The Vrila'an Legend! You'll be able to fight your cameo allies to improve your combos, your defensive tactics and strategies!

There's also a few new additions, but i'm not gonna spoil everything but some of the important ones:
First, you now have access to a secondary accessory slot!
And now, mobility improving accesories are a thing!
The Limit Plus Skill now has one more level, so you can increase your max amount of Passive Elent Capacity by 12!

There's a lot to come, so stay tuned!
  13. Xmas_Title.png
So, like everyone else, Shadows of the Earth: The Vrila'an Legend is taking a small break to open the path for its younger brother: A Christmas Story, the game for the jam. However, thankfully, this will also bring time for the Third Cameo Battle to come along with the second one, so we can get them together.
Sadly, A Christmas Story isn't canon in the Shadows of the Earth Lore itself, but it does happen in one of the many timelines. A Christmas Story still brings up the ATM-LMBS, but with a few changes that amerit a new name for it, the CRM-LMBS (Christmas Redux Multishift - Linear Motion Battle System) and a few new Limit Elents for our cast, which has a reduction to only 8 Playable Characters, instead of the 21 The Vrila'an Legend has.

On news for The Vrila'an Legend, I am unlocking two new areas for the Basic Demo: The Silios Volcano & the Northeast Fortress, these have their own challenges and rewards so make sure to upgrade your gear and get some news skills before entering these areas.

The Northeast Fortress has its own quest which unlocks a new playable character (which isn't really new, since she appears in the advanced demo)

Excuse me, I'm trying to AVOID the large corridors named "Dungeons" the Tales of Series has, but sometimes it's near impossible.

Thank you for being patient! Hope you're excited to see what A Christmas Story has to offer!
  14. An Extensive description of the ATM-LMBS
(Advanced Technical Multishift - Linear Motion Battle System)
    ATM_LOGO.png

THE ATM-LMBS is a derivative of the Original Linear Motion Battle System used in the Tales of Series, and the Plugin made by Moghunter, and upgraded by Fillip.

The Advanced Technical Multishift Linear Motion Battle System is a variant of the original Linear Motion Battle System produced by Moghunter. It's called advanced because of the many features that set it appart from its roots.

The LMBS allows for real-time combat with you controlling your own character. You can input commands to perform actions at any time.

    Basic Actions
All characters have access to normal attacks, however, there are some differences on how these normal attacks work.
    - Caster & Ranged characters only have access to one normal attack.
    - Cameo Characters have access to two or four attacks (Depends on the character).
All other characters have access to four normal attacks, and can increase them to a max of 7 via Passive Elents.

Every single character has access to a set of predefined actions called Common Actions. These actions have no inmediate cost like Elents, but some of them need special requirements to be used. These actions are allocated into the "F" Button currently.
F (No added input) triggers a Limit Elent if the conditions are met, or an Alteration if the last elent used was of Union Type and its Alteration is learned.
F + Up triggers Overflux, and Spirit Force if the conditions are met and the character is already in Overflux
F + Right or Left performs a dodge.
F + Down triggers FLUX Reload.

Dodges are a costless action that allows you to evade damage of any attack, provided you input them at the right time. They also serve as a way to connect combos easier with certain elents that aren't capable of normally.

Other basic actions are Jumping, Air Dashing, Character Switch and Guarding. You can double jump always.
Airdashing allows you to circle closer to the enemy while in the air.
Guarding nullifies physical and projectile damage, but it can't stop Ether Elents.
Character Switch allows you to quickly go to the next character in battle to control them (This action is disabled in Multiplayer)

    Battle Resources.
There are three battle resources used in the game. EP, FLUX & SP.
EP Stands for Ether Points, which are the resource used to perform Union & Ether Elents. While usually high, these costs can be reduced via Passive Elents or Accesories.

SP Stands for Shield Points: This resource is gained by certain Passive Elents, or Character Elents, such as Perla's Tempest Wall. It allows protection of HP by creating a second layer of health that takes all damage for the HP. There are, however, many ways to break this resource, since its also present in Bosses and Human type Enemies. Skills such as Steel Breaker and Destructive Force increase damage to SP.

FLUX is a very special resource since its gained and maintained very differently. Also called internally "Aggresion Meter", it behaves the following way: If you're being too aggressive, with long combos, the FLUX Meter never decays, and stays at its level. If you hit and run, the FLUX meter will be consumed by each Elent you perform this way. Triggering Overflux also depletes the FLUX meter slowly, until it reaches a minimum of five. Performing Limit Elents without combo conditions also deplete the FLUX Meter by 30 points. At the start, your max FLUX is 10 points, but you can increase this limit.
FLUX is gained by using normal attacks, or triggering FLUX Reload, which gives a random amount.

    Elent Classifications
    • Base
Mainly advanced normal attacks, these Elents consume FLUX, and can be chained into other Base Elents. When the chain is about to end, it upgrades into:
    • Union
These Elents have always the main Element of the character as Elemental Damage, and are increasingly more powerful than Base Elents. These elents consume only EP
    • Ether
Also called Spells, these Elents always land on the enemy, but can still be dodged. These ignore Guard and have a certain cast time.
    • Altered Union
A direct upgrade from Union Elents, these elents consume a massive amount of EP, but can be directly altered from Union Elents for free.
    • Healing
They do not need a clarification. These only consume EP and can heal, revive dead allies, increase stats and even cure from status effects.
    • Limit
The last type, these can be triggered by pressing its corresponding key and have a cut-in of the character. Insanely powerful and have three levels.
      • Level one requires 30 FLUX
      • Level two requires Overflux activated and a 2 hit-combo at least.
      • Level three requires Spirit Force activated and a 2-hit combo at least.
    Advanced Actions
    Alterations
This is a variant of the Chain effect added to the LMBS by Fillip, it allows your current Elent to be upgraded into a stronger version with a single button, allowing you to extend your combos and increasing your damage massively. Currently only Union Elents can turned into Altered Union Elents.
    Overflux
Called Overlimit in other games, this addition allows you to resist stun and knockback totally, reduce the cost of your elents to 0, reduces casting time if your character is a caster, and lets you use your level 2 Limit Elent. It can be manually triggered or by the effect of a passive elent.
    Limit Elents
While its not exactly a new addition, it is a new addition in the branch of this LMBS version. At the end of a combo, if you meet the requirements, you can perform an excedingly powerful elent known as Limit Elent (Mystic Arte in the competition).
    Blink Chase
A new mechanic, it allows you be able to pursue your enemy ignoring the knockback of your attacks, teleporting instantly into its face. It allows you to chain elents which you can't normally chain because of their knockback.

    Spirit Force
Non existant in other games, the Spirit Force is a new level of Overflux that allows the transformation of all characters, which increases their stats, gives them a new appearance and changes some elents into new forms. These new elents are called Assault Elents and for casters, Divine Ether Elents. To be triggered, the character needs to be in Overflux only. This mode temporarily increases the FLUX Meter maximum limit by 20, and has all the benefits of the Overflux ability.
    Multiplayer
While not shown yet, The ATM-LMBS allows for local multiplayer. With a max of 4 controllable characters in battle, the camera zooms out a bit to allow for a greater view of the battlefield for all characters. All actions (basic & advanced) are available for all characters, the only thing missing is menu access.

    Aerial Combat
Not present in any of its predecessors (talking about Mog's and Fillip's), the ATM-LMBS allows for airtime during combos, which can be extended thanks to Blink Chase. The best character to prove this is Wendy.

    General Info.
While the player is actively prompted to use all four members in the battle party, there's no penalization for using three, two, or only one character. Some Passive Elents are made to enhance single character survival, and some abilities are triggered thanks to party members being present. Play however you want!

All characters have access to 4 Ground elents and 4 Aerial Elents. There are elents that can be used on both slots, so choose your elents carefully to perform the best combos. You can always change those in the fly!

TL;DR: You can beat the **** out of any enemy manually by comboing them into the sky.
  15. This needs a TL;DR
  16. Oh i'm gonna do some videos lol. It's more like a wiki rather than a disclaimer or something.
    Edit: There, done.
  17. So, my α-counterpart has made you believe all his words about help, and teamwork. Right?
If it wasn't for me, he wouldn't even be able to lift his sword. Talk about someone weak, relying on others.
Every time he's talked about his journey, he has been lying.
If you really want to see, what power is all about, come meet me, challengers. I'll be waiting at the World Rift.
Let's see if you have what it takes to challenge a GOD.

    Teaser.png
  18. I will beat that god :p
  19. @ShadowDragon based on my tests... you're probably gonna need help. And a good strategy.
  20. when its there, I show proof that the god is beaten, probably start in 2024
    for that game ;)

I'm a pretty good gamer, so I make a screenshot of it of proof ^^
I dont mind if I die once or twice, but I will kill it ^^
