  1. Hey Guys!

The official Killer Gin website is back up! www.killergin.com! The only thing I am worried about in this newest version is that I virtually eliminated all enemy gold drops in the game in an effort to make harvesting resources a much more integral game mechanic. I am afraid a few iterations of the game will be necessary to strike a perfect game balance. I tried my best and I believe in due time it will work out great. However, the current version will give you a great idea of the game in general so feel free to download the latest version of the game and enjoy. Thanks!

so basically you can download the latest version of Killer Gin from www.killergin.com when ever you get around to play testing it. PS I hope Teal feels better soon.
  2. In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we look at the open world adventure that is Killer Gin. A very enjoyable game that has a little bit of everything, it gives you a sense of freedom that is almost overwhelming. But with solid characters, amazing writing, and funny, enjoyable moments, it's a lot of fun.

There are a few issues with the grammar and sentence structure, as well as the indication of whispers, thoughts, or narrative, but that is only minor. The biggest issue is that at a certain point, you are literally told to "go do quests" with zero indication as to what direction to follow for the main story. This works to the game's detriment but is easily fixed with a prompt as to what to do next to advance the plot.

Overall, we really enjoy this game and recommend it.

You can find the game here: http://www.killergin.com/

  3. @Foreverwhere

Awesome! Thanks so much for playing my humble little game. I skimmed through it quickly and I can already tell that you guys are great and I will really learn a lot from this video! I will sit down with a notepad and a pen once I am able to do so with another key member of the team and write up a full response to the video and leave it in the comments.

A couple quick things to note:
    1) The torch and time icon on the map are meant for you to click on! (After the intro, one controls torches, the other time itself, you can wait like the elder scroll games!)
    2) Check Gordo's room after Shinata kicks him in the nuts, he is there, hilarity continues. (ask him to join you!) PS Shin hates Gordo!
    3) If the game is too hard, also talk to Nurock after the council meeting.
    4) All drops in the game are random (sorry for the empty box LOL (the one in the intro))
    5) The boss is already in the works (energy golem in the intro, that was a huge issue with us as well)
    6) Learn to talk to animals (Skill book) it opens the game up even more. (yes, the animals will talk to you....)

I am busy working on the next huge update for killer gin and now, since you have created this video, I will be able to incorporate all the great advice you have given me. The next update is going to expand the world, introduce many new characters, expand on existing ones, introduce new game mechanics (balance others), etc.

    Thanks so much!
  4. In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we take a look at the game jam game of Harmony by Skyforger. A short game with a ton of heart, Harmony tells the story of a young girl with a special destiny, and her journey to fulfill it.

This game has a lot of good points: well-balanced battles, memorable moments, and solid, diverse characters. It has a good story to tell, one of good versus evil in a world that is withering into nothing. The story visuals, like the title sequence, and the quest subtitles, as simply amazing. We enjoyed playing this game.

There are only two real points we feel the game could have been improved on. First, The maps are a bit sparse for a short game, and could have used more detail and clutter. Second, there is too much information being dumped, and too many plot twists for such a short game. Other things, like skills that buff and debuff, and having a visual battle order, would have been nice, but the game does not suffer from it.

If you want quick, but fun, adventure, this is a definite.

  5. In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we look at the solemn story of "Save Your Mother" by TuomoL, in which a young woman goes on the quest to save her mother's life.

This story has a lot of heart, combining good characters and a solid story with many twist and turns. The custom artwork is lovely, and the tone of the game combines serious situations with lighthearted humor. Its narrative is well-paced and there are a lot of memorable moments. We really enjoyed the story and characters.

The problems with this game are purely mechanical: There needs to be a battle tutorial at the start of the game to teach how to fight, save points need to heal, and the action needs to stop when opening treasure chests. There is an action sequence in the second world that doesn't work, but it's due to RPG Maker's controls and not the game developer's design.

Overall, this game has a lot of potential and with refinement can be a solid experience for any kind of player.

I already thanked you in message and replied to some of your points, but thanks again. I loved watching you guys play my game, I only wish you would have had played just a bit longer! There were some super cute stuff going to happen and few more friendly characters I think you both would have loved to have met and brand new challenges.

Yeah, we only have a limited amount of time to do these, and this seemed like a solid stopping point. Still, it was fun, and I'm glad we were able to help you out! :)
  8. In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we take a look at the gorgeous world of Numina by @Dust , a beautiful adventure with some of the best visuals we've seen in an RPG Maker game.

From an aesthetic standpoint, this game has it all: lovely, efficient mapping, amazing visual effects, particles, and a powerful soundtrack. The presentation of the story is top-notch, and the action is very well done. We were pulled into the game immediately, especially once out of the prologue and in the main game.

This game has some minor issues with dialogue attribution; it's hard to see who is talking, and therefore things get confusing very quickly.

The biggest issue is the lack of balancing. You have to be perfect in you timing to survive the opening battles of the first area. The game needs to be rebalanced.

The main characters (Shawn, Aura, and Raphael) are very sympathetic and we liked them instantly.

  9. In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we enter the amazing and beautiful world of Oathkeeper by Yukimun. This is an excellent game with so much going for it out of the starting gate: an absorbing plot, sympathetic characters, an interesting dual story, solid mapping, and well-balanced combat that requires you to think.

The biggest issue we had was the dialogue. Many sections of it are too long, with too much banter going on at inappropriate times. Also, the writing can be a bit stilted at times and needs to be revised. Also, the character of Samantha needs a healing spell. All of these issues are easily fixed though, and once taken care of will make this such a great game.

We really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

    12:24 I am the Keymaster.
The story is so corny even they are laughing at it.
31:17 Well, you can't save the dialogue. Too late for that.
  12. Very much enjoying these short playthroughs. You two bounce off each other very well and you two are hilarious put together, but you also both give insightful feedback. A+ in my book.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to us. :)
  14. Hello everyone! in this RPG Maker Let's Play, we sizzle into the world of Al Dente Cooking Contest by @Dalph, where you play the chef Dylan trying to win the prize on a televised cooking show.

Honestly, we could find nothing wrong with this game. It was fun from the start, was extremely easy to pick up, but challenged you to figure out the best dishes to serve given the judges' tastes. The difficulty and balancing were flawless and the fun factor is through the roof.

We recommend this game to everyone!

  15. That was incredibly entertaining and fun to watch, you guys made me and my wife die of laughs.
Thanks a lot for the video and the nice words, I'm glad you both enjoyed!

I'm happy that this silly little game got positive reviews at the end, especially considering the fact that it was made in only 2 days.
Thanks again for taking your time to Let's play it, much appreciated.
  16. @Dalph : It's obvious that the last chef bribed them for the positive review with his mysterious dishes. :kaoback:
  17. Hello everyone! In this RPG Maker Let's Play, we shift into the bloody and dystopian world of Crimson Shift by Nandee. The last game in the Crimson series, it chronicles the adventures of Naokee the assassin and her adventures in a corrupted city.

This game is very well crated with engaging characters, well written dialogue, and a compelling story. The mapping is solid and the game-play elements are refreshing. The biggest issue we have is with the boss fight at the end of the video. It's completely unbalanced, and you'll see the results coming a mile away.

However, that pitfall aside, this game has a lot of potential and could really be something amazing.

Isn't the whole point of an assassin to kill people and not save them? Was Liam Neeson busy? Why would Verone dress up like he's from ISIS? Isn't the idea of an assassin to blend in? What's with the crapping pants dialogue? Sounds like a frat boy wrote this. 11:15 Cigar guy is a woman. Steel's doing a Nicholas Cage impression for 'cigar man'. luls. Why are the scientists German? Wouldn't these highly paid scientists have security detail to handle people? Monsters are running around everywhere and people are just acting like nothing is happening? 11:46 Why didn't the shades chased after him when he went inside. Didn't close the door or anything. 19:59 Sounds like the Fifth Element plot. A young mysterious girl is being chased by evil forces and gets unexpected help from a reluctant hero. Also created in a tube or something. Ultimately he turns her over to the authorities. Not sure how clothes that would fit an adult man would fit a little girl. Kinda hard to make a guy's death look like a suicide with all those dead security guards lying around. Profession killer gets one shotted by a technician. The technician gets promoted to an assassin.
  19. The technician gets promoted to an assassin. <- yes xD
Also you just called me a frat boy that hurts man D:
I don't know if i should keep laughing at the rest or be offended about that one part :D
