Noooooo :o@SLEEPERER I have merged your screen shot thread into the mega thread.
I am asking a question not showcasing my map screenshot. No one will answer my question then if you merged it here. Please see the context. -
I did read it. People ask for and receive feedback in this thread all the time. That is a stated purpose of this thread.
-
But if you put it here, only some people that follow game map screenshot 12 thread that will notice. You read but you didn't give any feedback right.I did read it. People ask for and receive feedback in this thread all the time. That is a stated purpose of this thread.
I usually ask questions in general discussion and not long, people reply to me. Now, no single one. How do you solve this?
I ask a question, not sharing screenshots. It is not supposed to be here. Please move it back where it was. -
You say that no one has replied to you.
It's only been a couple of hours, at a time which is incredibly busy for many people and particularly this year as many are playing the game jam games so that they can vote. It's not suprising that no one replied in seconds to you.
As for your question: zoomed is slightly blurred, so crisp details are lost. When you add in that it will be further zoomed (and blurred) if people choose to play it in full screen, the end result will not be good. I think leaving it at normal is the best. -
@SLEEPERER gonna second Kes, I believe the default setup wud serve the game best! :kaoluv:
-
Hi @Kes and @alice_gristle, I understand. Thank you for your opinion. I think I agree with both of you. It looks cleaner and adorable.
@Ms Littlefish thank you for putting an effort into my question to merge it here.
Since it's here, I want to share this. A front yard of MC's house. What do you think?
-
@SLEEPERER My first question would be about your ground tiles.
I can't see how eroding the grass in one patch would make mud show up (front), a few paces away what looks more like a pebble/stone soil and in 3 small patches would reveal stone.
You could get away with mud and stone (stoney outcrops are common) or pebbles and stone, but not all three together.
My second question is also about your ground tiles - I would have expected the worn away path leading to the house to go right up to the steps, not stop a little way off. Click+shift mapping will solve that. -
99% set up

@SLEEPERER I wud also remove the mud flat on the bottom part of the map, unless you've meant it to serve some very specific purpose? As it is, it jus' looks barren and plain and weird. Other than that, yo map looks harmonious and nice! I especially like the water bit. :kaoluv:
-
I came up with this nuclear take intending to make this guy dislikeable and now I need brain bleach :kaodes: -
Where can I place my images for ratings and comments?
What kind of film would look good, combining the art of XP and MV?
-
Hi there! @Eternidade_1 I have merged your thread into the mega thread for map feedback! ~
-
@Eternidade_1 for some reason I can't get yo imgur link to open! :kaoswt: Wud it be possible for you to use the "insert image" feature to just attach yo screenshots directly to yo posts? The thumbnail gives me some idea about yo map, but a closer look wud be nice! :wub
I like that you have lots of flowers (I love flowers), and overall yo colour scheme and design look pleasant and harmonious! :kaoluv: Wud you consider re-designing the narrow canal things in the middle tho? They're only one tile in width, which makes them look kinda kooky? Maybe you cud try 'n replace them with a li'l pond or summat?
Also, the house in the upper corner... D'you think it looks a little weird, since the hill it stands on is so small in comparison? Cud you maybe try 'n make the hill under the house a li'l bigger, see how it changes the map? :kaoluv: -

I reloaded the image, the player can only walk on the field on top of the bricks, on the hill the image is very full.
But I will carry out more tests, perhaps inserting more movement into the map, as is the purpose of the river.
Thanks -
@Kes, @alice_gristle the mud you pointed out is a road made of soil not mud. The pebble is an outside garage for car, while the stones in front of the door is a pathway from the door to the pond. Because it is passed by car, so the stones are faded away in the middle. I don't use the Click + shift because I want to get a real looks instead of too tidy. I think it looks well because the grown grass. Btw, do you have other shortcuts button outside Click + Shift?
Here is the full picture without the effect. From this point, do you have other suggestions or opinion?
-
@SLEEPERER My suggestion depends on how much the player can see.
Generally speaking, having such a large solid block of the autotile forest is not particularly interesting and looks artificial. What you can do is cut away sections of it to show 'glades'. Here is an ultra fast (reduced size) example to show what I mean.
My only other point is another one about your paths. As people will be going through the gate into the back field and also up to the well quite frequently, wouldn't there be at least a suggestion of paths at those points? -
Thank you. I agree with your thought on the tree that looks so artificial. This is the biggest area that player will see with those kind of trees, will you change your mind?@SLEEPERER My suggestion depends on how much the player can see.

Here is example the trees I placed one by one.
I will consider the path you mentioned.
And what do you think if it is compared to The Witch's House and Impostor Factory forest at the beginning of the game? Better, equal, or worse? Rating maybe for the comparison will help a lot. Can mine be standing next to them? -
@SLEEPERER I think I might still want to put the edge of a glade on your first map, particularly as I noticed a path going from the back field into the forest, so there has to be at least the possibilities of clearer areas.
As for the comparison you asked about, I have zero memory of the maps you mentioned, so I can't answer. -
I have not planned any quest or story to go inside the forest. For now, the forest is just a decoration.@SLEEPERER I think I might still want to put the edge of a glade on your first map, particularly as I noticed a path going from the back field into the forest, so there has to be at least the possibilities of clearer areas.
