I think a lot of people disliked the default MZ hedge, I remember talking about it with several other users when it came out.

So, a new hedge is on my mind as long as MZ is out, and today I finally finished something I had been toying around with the last week:
    1684270947561.png
Left is the default hedge, right is my own.

    And here is the autotile:
    1684270988833.png
It is based on the one beautiful tree from the outside set and I really like how bushy and natural it looks :3
  2. A random pair of taller trees :3

  3. I have never once had too many tree tiles. Thank you~
  4. Nor have I.
    Thank you

I do.. lol! But that's only because my OCD forces me to limit all my exterior plants, etc., to one singular TileE sheet. Curses! *Shakes fist to the sky* LOVEEE the hedges @Avery !! Love the fire meme even more. LOL!

  6. Holy crap, your remade hedge looks infinitely better than the original. Those trees sure are nice, too!
  7. Thank you all guys :3
Since you seem to love the nature stuff, I decided to make another thing come true that had lingered on my mind for quite some time: the cliff climbing things.

The rope and the vine are the ones I'd probably use most, but there is nothing that they are attatched to - the top is simply cut off!
    1684694700888.png
I am also no fan of the default rope length^^'

So, what I did is to think where the rope could be attatched and how the vine's top should look like and try to make a nice upper part for it - I also made a "rope top", so that the players have some room to offboard the rope on the top and edited the tree stump a little so the rope does not look like it is going to slip off any moment :3
    1684694839707.png

And i think those slightly different tree stumps work really well... they could be an indication that if the party has a rope in their inventory, here it can be attatched to unlock a new way.

  8. This is such a useful addition, and mean that ropes no longer look bizarre but quite cool.
  9. Thank you :3
I also felt that they looked quite bizarre, but especially for the rope I needed to see where to attatch it first before I could rework it.

I released a tutorial about secret doors today, and upon request here are the results to use as is if you just want the results:

  10. Absolutely in love with new hedge :3 Rope tied around the tree trunk is also so nice! Thank youuuu Never too much good tileset pieces :)

    Well, if he says so...

I lately noticed that @Holder seemed to be a bit sad about his thread often getting not that much attention in the General section (something I notice with my work too, general somehow is a place like page 2 of the google search, you could probably hide dead bodies there) and I decided to give him a little shoutout and for people interested in his stuff a little encouragement to give them a chance - by turning his wizard Sally into a plug and play charset!
    Sally_Avery_HolderMZ.png

Little blabla at the end that you can overread if you are just here for the ressource:
I think that the fact that the battler just took so long to become more than bases kinda branded the thread as "well, you need plugins AND skill to be able to use them" for many users which then simply do not check it out that much as well. And of course with "just" (not talking it down, I know they were an insane amout of work) the battlers, you cannot make a game, you need at least the charsets, even if you omit the faces and busts.
But as a little prod: Holder has several characters that are based on XP and VX heroes, and they already got some matching charsets, for example by Amy or as part of the official freebies!
Sally was one of the all unique characters, that's one of the reason I decided to pick her for this.

Blabla over, check out Holder's stuff!

Such a lovely post and honestly I can't get across what this means that you've taken the time to do this. I've been asked very often to do character sets but honestly there's so many different styles and versions of RTP that I think it'd end up being more work than the battler itself.

Shes been captured perfectly, skin tones, hair and costume is brilliant.

    My little blabla :)
It is tough sometimes to keep putting content out when you don't hear anything back, or it's a 'why don't you do this instead?' Jason perry told me once, keep getting it out there and an audience will form. Hope that happens someday.
I try to hoard as much of the programming and tutorial side of things that I can to help others. I managed it with MZ,Ace and XP and I think it really helps the visual consistency and uniqueness of battles.

Thank you once again and yes, anything that I make can be adapted to whatever anyone finds helpful to others.
  13. Avery you're on a roll, what the heck
  14. Haha, I just need to decompress a lot ;D

The demoncount had no bust and there was a request for it, soooooo...
in case you always wanted to talk to this guy
    1685005143173.png
    you now can!

  15. With a lot of basics covered, I think noone has made stuff dedicated for the younger heroes and NPCs so far! So in case your heros have a flashback to their childhood, they enter a house where kids live or if the children are the heroes themselves, they now can sleep in proper beds!

And not only that, I felt like the default plushies and toys are enormous, that is why I made smaller versions that you can place on the beds :3

  16. I, too, have always thought the toys and teddy bears etc. where massively too big, so I'm glad you've turned your attention to them.
  17. With me doing quite random things lately the "What the RTP is missing"-list stagnated a little lately. But welp, there are still quite some gaps and while I never know if my work on them helps some of you, I guess I will never find out until I make them and see if I see them somewhere... I guess?

This lad, People4_1, already got his battler and SV battler made, so only the emoset was missing to complete him. But not only that! I based my SF_People2_5 bust on him - that char came without a matching face in the first place - so I could basically slap the same emotions on both.
Which is what I did. I see that guy as a calm, smart and gentle tutor type, that is how I designed his emotions to be :3

  18. I worte a tutorial where I remade one of my very first resources ever made, and if you are just here for the resources, here is a bench!
    AveryBenchRemakeMZ.png
If you want to learn more about how I made it and what I made wrong all those years ago, here you can find the tutorial :3

  19. Do you remember my large trees from christmas?
You will need them if you want to put those to use!

With two different tree houses, optional rope ladder and swing you can either have a tree village, the home of a druid or your child has the coolest place to play ever!

  20. I am very happy about my treehouse, but especially for the winter version, it might get a little cold in there, huh?
    Well, no more!
With this fitted to it selection of tree doors to choose from, your tree folk can now have some privacy!

In case you like these and want to use it on other houses as well, I also arranged them for plug and play use in normal cases:
