  1. I haven't used AI generated assets in any game so far.

I have used AI to help me research solutions on how to do things with Javascript and it has been enormously helpful.

I have also started using AI (Gemini) to help me start designing a larger RPG project. It gathers and consolidates information from many sources instantly and presents the results for me to consider.

It is incredibly efficient and saves me a TON of time.

Also, I did an interesting experiment yesterday. I will be sure to be very general here since this is a PG-13 forum.

I have been a writer for over 4 decades. It is something I have been reasonably successful at and I really enjoy it.

Although I have dabbled with adult oriented (NSFW) themed short stories in the past, I have never published any for a variety of reasons. Not the least was that since I worked for the government, anything I wrote had to be reviewed by the government before publication to ensure that I didn't include anything related to my job. Even fiction. That severely curtailed what I was willing to put forth for review.

Anyway, I decided that I would try and compare ChatGPT and Gemini with how they are at composing stories and what they allow. Both AIs indicated that they could write NSFW content under certain parameters. So, I gave it a try.

I discovered that, in my opinion, Gemini was much better at writing parts of stories than ChatGPT. I also discovered that Gemini would go much farther down the NSFW path than ChatGPT.

    It was very interesting.

And I kind of liked how Gemini would ask if I wanted to choose from several additional scenarios or it would ask how I wanted the story to branch after each scene.

I can see the value of such prompts even though I ended up asking Gemini to stop doing it and let me handle it.

So, it was fun messing around with it and I can honestly say that I would probably be more inclined to use Gemini than ChatGPT. It still makes mistakes and offers some curious results and contents, but it was fun and interesting to play around with.

I still have to resize some recent AI created images to share. I've just been distracted by other things.

Not sure why suddenly the images are too large to upload.

ChatGPT got immensely watered down. It used to allow pretty kinky stuff - it actually had a pretty twisted "mind" imo xD
I don't need any of what it can write since I've got stories for like 100 more games and I actually love writing dialogues lol but I wanted to test how far it could go. Back then, I wasn't disappointed (some annoying blocks still but nonetheless it could do a lot more than I expected it).
Out of the curiosity, I tried it recently (several months after) and all that I would ask (prompt) successfully back then either became ultra dull as hell or simply "forbidden" - "as an AI holier than thou I can't do that blablabla", the usual bs.

You had to be there I guess, eh.

By the way I think these AI actually display very little "intelligence". They always give their pointless often out-of-place excuses whenever they don't want to do something. It's particularly true of Gemini.
They are very advanced randomized robots capable of doing cool sometimes amazing stuff, but I see zero "intelligence" there. If anything they are very predictable, stubborn, and always repeat the same excuses just like a robot would.

Not sure why suddenly the images are too large to upload.

I wish the forum would allow larger images and also videos to be honest.
I wanted to post AI videos at some point but having to systematically upload it on Youtube before is tedious.
  3. I certainly have used AI generated assets in games. Nothing I published so far, I think. Oh well, I have some coin collectors game, that has AI generated coins, but nothing RPG maker made.
  4. More ai generated artwork for the game.
  5. That's cool. There's inconsistency between two main batches of art though.

And another question I would ask myself is "If I wasn't part of this forum and I was just making my game on my own, would I even be questioning whether I should use AI generated images?"
I stopped caring what this forum thought years ago when it became clear how little people cared about others and no one notices or cares when even regulars leave.

I personally don't use AI and wouldn't buy something that used it but I won't chastise people if they want to.

People just consult AI for help these days anyway so fewer people come to the forums for help in the first place.

What parts are inconsistent? If it is Dahlia's (the blonde girl with curled twintails) hairstyle, the ai only seem to get that right some of the time.

Question... Do you use RTP as base for your AI generated assets? The thing is, you're not supposed to upload images (or other content) that you don't own the copyrights to.

If the output goes back into your project, it seems like the same thing as editing, but the truth is that the art you upload, is used by the AI to train. And that is something the makes of the art might not support. After all, many real artists feel like AI is stealing their job, and I can see why.

RTP? Though I will say I never use ai for sprites, tilesets or such assets. Only for portraits for the face category, nothing else. So I doubt it is editing assets belonging to anyone on this forum.

Also no version of Chronicles of Avineria is available to anyone but me at the moment. If the ai assets will prove to be a problem I can easily go back to the RPG Maker Mz Character generator portraits I used before. And my previous game uses no ai in the current version.

Also, while I employed artists for my previous project. Truth is that I spent way over my assets. I just a single person, not a company and I work on a very low budget. Nobody is losing a job over this. It is just a question if I will use this or the built in Character generator for faces.
  10. Well, if we use any AI generated assets, then we use less assets from human artist. If you do a little, and I do a little, and we all do a little, then the artists will notice that they have less downloads or sales than before.

I don't say it is wrong. I do it myself as well, using AI generated assets, I mean. But the rules are kind of fuzzy. It is different per AI and per country.

Best advice I can give anyone: Read the terms of the AI you use carefully.

I guess that depends on the Gemini terms of service. While I have not yet checked the whole thing, I did find this among it:

"Some of our Services allow you to generate original content. Google won't claim ownership over that content. You acknowledge that Google may generate the same or similar content for others and that we reserve all rights to do so."

If "Some of our services" include the image generation I should be in the clear. I don't give a crap about the using my generations being used to train the ai, that is fine.
  12. I made a new youtube channel: Metal4Kids...
For Dutch kids, though... But I love it so far.

All lyrics are written for children.
All lyrics are written by me.

Er zit een wereld in mijn hoofd (There is a world in my head)

Er zit een spookje op de zolder (There is a ghost in the attick)

If you're Dutch, and you have kids, and you like metal...
Or even when you're not Dutch and don't have kids, you might still like it.
  13. Undead minions and animal companions.
  14. Pretty great. Too bad for the lame "fake" transparency.

True. But it is no issue, I have tools to remove backgrounds for proper formating. I just run it through another ai designed to remove background. The only thing you need to consider is for there to be enough of a distraction between the background and foreground for it to know the difference.

I actually use this method to format commissioned art as well.
  16. These eldritch horrors and golems should round out the summons/companions category.

There is alot of those in Chronicles of Avineria due to the ranger's animal companions, the shapeshifting forms of the druid and the summons of the warlock and the magician respectively. (Warlock has undead and lovecraftian horrors, the magician has golems.)
  17. @Darkmoon9 You are making some awesome characters! Those all look terrific!

I finally resized my recent experiments using GIMP. Here is a series where the D&D party is aged (child, teenager, young adult, middle aged), then the setting is changed, then the situation is changed (resting and fighting), then one character is isolated from the group for a full body portrait, then that image is reduced to a more standard portrait, and then the standard portrait has an expression change.

These aren't perfect, but these experiments are fun.

I also spent most of the weekend playing around with Goggle Gemini's ability to write stories. I really don't need any help with that since I have more story ideas and stories in progress than I can reasonably complete, even writing full time. But it is fun experimenting. Gemini is rather good at taking a part of a story and rewriting it from different characters' perspectives. It certainly makes mistakes, but it is also pretty good with just filling in descriptions if you don't give it enough details.

Personally, I think it would be very interesting if you could feed an AI nothing but a particular author's work. Like say Stephen King. And then see if the AI could generate a new story that reads like a Stephen King novel. It would be an interesting test.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

    These do look great.

Also, if you like the images I posted here lately, I have you to thank for them as you were the one who reccomended me to use Gemini. I have to say results have significantly improved since I switched generator. I don't even see the regular too many fingers errror anymore.
  19. I am the one who recommended Gemini to Mr Zombie :D:thumbsup-left:
  20. Yes, it seems like Gemini is a pretty good AI for use. It seems to be pretty good at images, writing, and research.

It is interesting to have a conversation with Gemini about its filters too. And I like pointing out mistakes and having Gemini tell me I'm right. I don't get to hear that often enough. LOL!

Add meme-gen.ai is pretty fun to make gifs with as well.
