I've started experimenting with ChatGPT and to me, so far, it seems like Google Gemini is better at generating images. And ChatGPT has more limits on the amount of images you can generate within specific time periods.

I also noticed that ChatGPT seems to have a much harder time with ages for children. I started writing over 40 years ago so I have all kinds of novels that involve child characters and fall in the genre of Young Adult. So, I have been testing AI with some of those concept characters to experiment and practice.

ChatGPT seemed to have a very hard time with how to generate different ages for children. Gemini seems much better in that regard. But I am also learning quite a bit about how to write better prompts.

I've also tried some prompts of things that probably don't exit as reference images and I've noticed that AI seems to have a much more difficult time with a prompt like that. It tends to make more mistakes and has a hard time fixing the mistakes. That is something I'm going to continue to experiment with and watch over time.

I only wish I could actually draw like this on my own. But some people have a natural talent and others don't.

No, no-one has a natural talent. It is all practice. I can draw myself, but not like this. But I wasn't born a drawing artist. I just tried things out since I was a kid, and I got better and better.

Every single artist you will ever meet, got as good as they are, by making tons of crap first. No matter is the artist makes pixel art, metal music or puts on dancing performances.

If you wish you could draw like this, then download gimp, spend 30 bucks on a cheap drawing pad (or 260 on an amazing mid-sized one with a screen, like I did) and start drawing. If you enjoy drawing, you will naturally improve, as long as you refuse to put that pencil down.

But to answer your question how you can see it is AI or not? I guess you can't. I guess there will actually be people who claim they dame it themselves.

Hahaha. I uploaded an old poem of mine to Udio, and turned it in a metal song.

@JohnDoeGames I disagree to an extent. I do believe that anyone can improve through practice, but I have enough experience in life to know that there are people with a natural gift and a natural talent for different things.

There are some people where things just come easier. They pick up an instrument or drawing utensil and in a short period, they are able to do things far more advanced and better than others who have practiced and toiled for years. They are able to achieve greatness without the same amount of toil as others.

I saw it when I taught martial arts. I saw it with music students. I saw it with students in art classes.

People in all sorts of careers and activities naturally excel while others work hard and struggle to perform even half as good.

I don't say that to discourage anyone. But it is a reality that should be acknowledged. I know for a fact that there are some things I just would never be able to achieve, even with decades of diligent practice. And I'm ok with that. There are also things that I find pretty easy that other people struggle with.

But I will practice and see what I can achieve over time.

I mean, I have no real talent in conventional art like drawing. But I am a skilled minature painter. But my main thing is writing. Maybe I could get better at drawing with practise, but I rather want to spend time practicing something I am already goood at/develop a game.

Any actual game company with employees would split the work. Artists make the art assets, programmers do the coding and writers write the story. When you are single handedly developing a game, you basically have to do everything yourself. One person being good at everything simply isn't feasible. So having things like ai can help to cover your shortcoming. Rpg Maker and plugins also help with making coding easier, it is not that different from using ai for art, but it viewed very differently for some reason.

Writing on the other hand I am good at, and I have plenty of ideas. So I don't need any aid in that department.

Also, isn't it a really privileged argument to always assume everything have the funds to hire artists? Let me tell you, it costs a fortune to commission art for all characters in a game. I know because I did exactly this with Dextera Mortis.

Oh sure, some people learn certain things easier than others. But know that those who pick up and just start to play, have probably hold a guitar before. Even those who pick up math and stuff easily, had to learn how to count first.

And make no mistake: A good teacher makes all the difference! I am an autodidact. This means I can teach myself better then any teacher can. I can't learn from tutorials or even teachers, I have to figure things out myself. This makes it seem like I can so easily draw, play the piano or know how to use an advanced photo camera without reading the manual. And that is BTW also how I figured out how to get around the limitations of RPG maker.

There are up and downsides to being an autodidact: If you can learn from a teacher, you can basically learn everything, as long as you have a good teacher. But if you're an autodidact like me, you can only learn the stuff that interests you real quick, but everything else is much harder to learn.

I had 2 years of French and 2 years of German, but I don't know anything of what I have learned anymore. While I loved math, and I finished my math books during summer break, before the school year even started. I didn't need a teacher to teach me math, but all the teachers in the words wouldn't be able to teach me French. (And yes, I sucked at English as well... Only when I was about 20, and did more and more with computers, I taught myself proper English.)

So, yeah, you're right that some people seem to learn quicker than others. That doesn't mean they don't have to learn and practice. But you know what? Some people are really good at making things look affordless. That is an illusion though. They just are so comfortable in their role as an artist.

One flaw! it makes the screenshot upside down, so i made a NPC make the screen upside down with the script call
so it rotates it then after some time puts it back too normal. so you can make your screenshot/picture not upside down lol

Gemini images implemented into early version of the game, these are probably placeholders until I can get some commisions done. But this screen shows up only once in the entire game, so I am not sure if commissioning for that is worth it. The screen looks better than it did previously at the very last.
