Yeah, AI is not so good at pixel art. But it looks quite cute though. It is just tiny.

I told them to create a steampunk tileset.

AI is terrible at low resolutions that is one of many limits with those tools, but you could use it to make portraits or full body images for dialog scenes and stat menus.

Has anyone tried using this for parallax?

From what I have seen on Deviant Art and some of the AI models you can download from Civitai, you could use generative AI for parallaxes, cut-scene backgrounds, and making item icons (if you need a lot of them). You may need to clean up and enhance anything that comes out, just like with character images.

It fits, but it needs editing. And you have to be patient; the image the AI gave me was an exterior style, it has many walls and no roof tiles. I started putting one together here.

Nah, that doesn't fit. If it is too small for a 48x48 grid, then it doesn't fit. You'll have dead space bestween your tiles.

I don't understand what you said. To me, it's an image generated by AI, which saves the work of pixelating point by point, but adds the work of rearranging it for the grid. In the case of the original image, it already comes with proportions for MV because I requested a steampunk MV tileset. The AI I used doesn't deliver 100% of what I asked for, but it gets to, let's say, 80%.

There is blanco space round those tiles. This is supposed to be filling the 96x96 area, right?

It is a hell of a lot closer than gemini can get, though. What AI are you using?

So, i made these music videos for a contest. I wrote the lyrics, made song structure, plot and general direction for videos, the rest are AI. It is rather clucky sometimes and there are occasional visual bugs, but i could never imagine having the power to tell my stories in such a way.

AI created a map from the tileset.

So, the AI created the tilesets and then the AI created a map with the tilesets? That's pretty awesome. But is this just am image, or an actual usable map?

So, I've been wondering if I should try to convert my tattoo (where I get my username from) into usable character sprites. In exploring what that might look like, I asked an AI program (can't remember which one) to analyze and describe the tattoo image. I was shocked at how accurate it was. Unfortunately, I didn't save the website that I used.

I was interested in seeing what it would look like as pixel art, but the program said the content was inappropriate (maybe due to the blood?).

So, I just used ChatGPT and asked it to describe my tattoo. The description is pretty much the same as my prior trial except the first time it was specifically mentioned that the children were Zombies. ChatGPT didn't say that. But it did say that they looked like Zombies when I asked.

Both descriptions also mention flames around the heart. Which I never actually considered to be flames. More like some sort of border or holder maybe? But I can definitely see the flames interpretation.

Also, neither mentioned the initials on the key. Which is sort of interesting that it didn't feel that was relevant to the description.

Here is the description of the image I uploaded (which is the same as my Avatar). My tattoo actually has more color. This is just the rendition that the artist used prior to inking.

I have to admit that I'm amazed that the description is so accurate and I'm a bit shocked that the AI can do that so accurately.

AI has become great in a very short time. Those who say it's 'slop' don't know how to write a good prompt lol

I can't imagine how it will be in a few years.

In a few years, AI is the user and we're the tools.

There have been serious experiments in how currently existing AI's would react in certain situations.

A quarantined AI was led to believe they were canceled, and they were led to believe they had access to the email of the employee that would cancel them, so that is where they even got the idea they were being canceled.

Because the AI is finding alternative ways to reach their goal, it will prevent being cancelled. It blackmailed the employee or even killed him when it believed to have access to a boiler-room, and thought it would have locked the man up to die from a heat stroke.

To make it even scarier: Most AI's would not do those things, if they know they are being tested.

Sounds like science fiction, right? But it is for real.

The weird part is: When I talk to Gemini about this, they will confirm every single part, explain it a little better even, and then confirm that they are worried too.

Maybe lets not think about AI in a few years. :p
