Weekly Art Challenge #25

#25 Introduction Weekly Art Challenge is a recurring event for the Art, Literature and Music forum wherein there is a new challenge for artists every week. The goal of the event is to encourage art and going outside the box by imposing interesting challenges and limitations. After a week, a poll will be up for everyone to vote to select the best entry. The winner with the most votes will receive a pretty little badge for bragging rights. Also, please be sure to check out the previous challenge's thread. Rules A new challenge/theme will be posted up in a new thread every week. Participants are to follow the rules imposed by the challenge/theme. Any questions may be asked. However, I reserve the right to disqualify any entries that I feel do not meet the criterion. A challenge lasts for approximately a week. Deadline for all Weekly Challenges is strictly at 12:00AM, GMT +0, on Monday. Multiple entries are allowed, and each will be voted separately. The final score will be the total amount of votes all of the entries get. On the week after, a poll will be up in the same thread. Only one participant will win. In the case where there are more than one participant with equal votes, all winners will be rewarded. Poll for voting will be available from the submission deadline to Saturday, when the winner will be announced. The winner gets to call the theme/challenge for the following week. If the winner does not wish to do so, then I will come up with one. All forms of art are welcome. No need to register. Just start working on your entry right away if you've decided to participate. Post your entries in this thread. WIPs are encouraged, but please explicitly specify your final submission. There is absolutely no measurements coming from us on the completion of a piece. Whether a piece is complete for final submission or not, is entirely your own call. So don't be discouraged if you think you can only afford to doodle a couple lines. Anything is fine. Entries must be done completely from scratch by their respective participants. This means no pre-existing stock materials are allowed, regardless of the degree to which they have been altered. Whoever is caught intentionally violating this rule will be subject to the punishment stated in our Forum Rules regarding Credit Theft. Entries must be done within the week after the challenge has been issued. No previously done work is allowed. Entries violating this rule may be automatically disqualified without prior notice. This week's Challenge Historically inspired. Deadline: 12:00AM (GMT +0) on Monday, July 21st, 2014. Poll for voting will be available from the submission deadline to Sunday, July 27th, 2014. Any questions may be asked here. All forms of art are welcome. Post your entries in this thread. WIPs are encouraged, but please explicitly specify your final submission. And that is it. Have fun!

Spectres" : A film poem : a video photographic montage of history ignored and lessons unlearned.

Two versions

Revised 18Jul2014 : utilizing photo-reveal technology, demystifying processing, and textual tweaking.

Non-entry version with sound (preexisting music composed by Quigon)

Entry (silent version*)

*though if any wonderfully talented and enterprising composer wishes to create a new entry-accompaniment for this piece before deadline, I'll recreate an entry sound version with appropriate credit to composer :)

Decided to do a 15 minute sketch. This was the result. Don't think I'll improve it as that would change it from being a 15 minute sketch...

@Paladin: Looks so awesome, if you are GIMP user I highly recommended you to use Photoshop. I'll support 100% of it against GIMP. I also recommend ALL GIMP USERS TO USE PHOTOSHOP.

Photoshop CS2 is now available completely free of charge from Adobe's website. Sure, it will be missing a few features from later versions, but it will mostly be the same.

Nekosphinx, how fuzzy and cute.

I read up on some women in war, and Jeanne the Hatchet was a rather badass one, taking up a hatchet to kick some attackers ass.

Note: this is not an entry, it is archaeological proof that the Nekosphinx exists.

Zenoa's drawing is from real life. I was in Egypt at the "Nekopolis", near Giza, in 2010 and saw the real thing! :)
