  1. Er... let's see if I can't rephrase my question... stupid autism getting in the way of wording things right.

*takes a look at the previous post*

    ...what was I asking then?

*feels like an even bigger idiot than usual*

Well, in any case, I think I have an idea of what I was trying to say. I was wondering how to best use this plugin in conjunction with Shaz's plugin for changing tile sizes, as well as hoping for clearer instructions than what's already written, since I'm one of those people who needs more elaborated instructions (that are, for some reason, short, sweet, and to the point).
  2. This script replaces all maps made in the editor so even if you added Shaz's tile size change plugin I doubt it would do anything.

Tile size is controlled by what you set as the tile size in the TileD files.
  3. ...*feels like an even bigger idiot than before in his last post*

Sorry about the useless posting in this thread. I really need to be less of an idiot.
  4. Does this plugin support TileD's tile animations? In other words, can we have more animated tiles on a single map and with more than 3 frames of animation per tile?
  5. ...now that I realize it, I almost forgot to ask about something important!

So, let's just say someone were to use this plugin with Zeriab's ExtraMaps plugin. Is that compatible, or do you guys need to work on seeing if it can be made compatible with each other's plugins?

Also, on another matter, let's say that the sprites are the variety used in VXAce. How do I use the VXA-style graphics for this game in sprite format? Would the Faces need to be MV-style regardless? I'm only asking because I need to know this for my own games. Thanks.
  6. This might be the wrong spot (not sure on all the exact workings of this plugin) but is there a way to grab the tile id through this plugin and its functions, or is that still handled by default functions? I'm trying to do things with specific tiles, so getting their IDs would help immensely.
  7. I haven't had time to play with this but should be relatively easy to answer.

1:) Since you can create custom collisions in tiled would that equate to per pixel collision if using a pixel movement plugin?

2:) Is there an easy way to grab the tile_ID?  like tile_ID == 0 would equal the top left corner for example?

As a few others have stated what about tile animations? TileD supports well unlimited frames per say so is 3 tile animation limit removed if we use this plugin?  I would think so since it's just reading the output file you created with tiled.

@noctiluca: I'd still would use the tile-size plugin only to change the grid if you're using 8x8 or 16x16 tiles well essentially creating a snes esque game.

Bumpity bump bump. I have yet to find this. :/ HALP.
  9. There is an event command called "get location info" that will return a tile id.  It's on tab 3 I think under the map heading.
  10. I talked to Yami about it. You can't get the Tile ID yet.
  11. Semi random question, is it possible to assign terrain tags the same way you assign region? In the TileD program i mean, i know how to set it in the MV editior, lol
  12. You can't right now. :(

Not a problem ( i hope, lol)  since i cant define terrain tags that way , that means i get to do a lot of back and forth between tileD and the editor make certain i have the "proper" placement of my tiles  so i can use my terrain tags ,lol .

Either way this is truly an Epic Plug In

is this a planned feature? cause I don't mind writing an extension for this to make this be a thing if it isn't.
  15. We don't have any time to write an extension... but if you could that would be AMAZING :D

Agreed, that would completely EPIC , And I am certain it would save quite a lot of time for a lot of people.
  17. Hey guys I updated the topic to link Liquidize's extension!

We contemplated on this but decided to just use parallaxes/pictures for that. Since as of now, Animated tiles in TileD is confusing.
Aw, darn. I was hoping this would be a feature, as that is something (along with the pixel collision) that really stands TileD out from just parallax mapping.

I'll be looking forward to future updates and extensions with this, as it looks very promising. :rock-right:
  19. Sooo....I have a special teaser for all of you! I was asked by Archeia to temporarily take over development (or rather just implement some things) since she and Yami are quite busy at the moment doing other things.

    Spoiler

Can you guess what is being added......? Did you guess TileD animation tiles? I sure hope you did, because that is what is displayed above :D . There are still some things to work out with it, as I am trying to find the best way to implement it currently, what I can tell you is the following:

    1. I have no ETA on a release yet, besides animations tiles there are other thing I saw that I could improve, or that I was asked to implement.

    2. There will be no frame limit.

    3. Animations will likely need to be placed on their own layer (for performance reasons)

    4. There may be an animation layer limit (again for performance reasons).

    5. I have not decided how they will be implemented in the end yet, I'm still experimenting with TileD's millisecond animations (They don't render right/work right in MV :( ), or a fixed frame rate (how MV handles them).

I hope you are looking to be able to use TileD animation tiles as much as I am :) !

    *___* finally!
