Just like art style or music choice, there's some parts that people have opinions on BUT the person who knows what suits the tone and theme of the game best is you.
I know, and I promise y'all are not my crutch or anythin'!:kaoluv: I been doodlin' and doin' stuff for a while, and I know what I want and what I like. But, it's fun and (sometimes) informative when you get other eyes on yo work!

Oh definitely, but didn't want to leave you coming away being pushed back on a positive change.
  3. Trying to get to a "finalized" look for Actor Battlers for my project. These are two of them that I feel look the best so far, but I feel like they could be better and something feels off...Though I always get a bit intimidated by keeping everyone on model for animation stuff.
    Spoiler

  4. @sleepy_sealion I think the right one looks nice, I'd just add in the other hind leg! :kaoluv: Thing is, stuff cud always be better, but at some point you just gotta stop and be like, "Eh, I made this."
  5. I figured before I get going, I might as well ask about this. But I was worried trying to go for a more realistic style might feed into the perfection stuff, and animating could be tricky, so I did have a more simple/cartoony style as well but wasn't sure about it since I feel like people would prefer the former realism.

  6. @sleepy_sealion naw, I wud go with what you personally prefer, 'cuz all these styles seem good to me. Also, if there's a style you know will be easier to work with, animate, whatever, honestly that'd be big points for me! :wub

    ANYWAY Y'ALL, Alice's hot beach weekend continues!:kaoluv: I wanna introduce y'all to Undina, she's a great inventor but a li'l unstable! I mean, her inventions are a li'l unstable!

    Contains a hot beach babe

I'm kinda at the stage where I think that doin' lineart is awesome! Also, hands and feet? What delightful little puzzles they are!:kaopride: Undina's little nubbies ain't perfect, but hey, sis got only so many pixels to shuffle around, I'm satisfied with the result!
  7. ZombieRTP.gif
MZ's RTP zombie character, personally not fond of the bright green skin but that's how it is. I think I'd do some dull flesh colours for the alternative version.
How's it looking so far for the idle pose?
  8. @Holder at the club, slayin' :kaoluv: Jokes aside, lookin' real good!
  9. Whadup, Alice back in her old haunt! I put Shadowloom into a maturation cask and decided to do a li'l Dying Earth pastiche WHICH IS REALLY WHAT I HAVE WANTED TO DO ALL ALONG :wub

So I'm makin' some forest tiles for it! They's kinda close to the ones I made for Slaybuster, but the palette is a bit different aaaaand I dunno. I feel like I cud just make trees for all eternity and be happy :kaoluv:

Also yes, they are continuous tiles, designed to combine into any and all forms required!

  10. First ever tileset in the WIP stage, it’s supposed to be kind of a theatre. Any suggestions?
  11. @chisaikore looks promising, sweetheart!:kaoluv: Not sure if it's just my eyes, but it looks like there's a few stray glitchy pixels on those creamy white and red wall tiles, d'you think you cud clean 'em up? Also, d'you think you cud whip up a map or a mockup usin' these tiles? Asking 'cuz I can't entirely picture how you were plannin' to use some of these based on the tileset image alone
  12. :D Heyo! I'm working on my first mini-project and decided to make custom sprites & tilesets instead of buying pre-made ones. I started with my main character. It's a light-hearted, somewhat silly game about exploration and light fighting.

Feedback needed on design & animation! Video can be found in the .zip file, PNG is below.

  13. Good morning (or another time!) @coolbeans42 just letting you know I merged your thread into the Resource WIP thread. This is a great place to get feedback. Best of luck!

I had originally made the curves of the walls half tiles rather than full /( TAT )\ I guess I missed those after I adjusted it. I'll be right back with a mockup!!

Disappointed to say that there seems to be a slight issue with importing to RMXP, as there's a few issues :/
  16. @chisaikore it looks okay at a glance tho? Not sure what you were plannin' to do with those raised platform type of things? Also, the red demilunes are couches? Maybe you cud do a li'l bit of work on the perspective, as it stands they look like they're shown in a straight top-down view :kaoswt: Overall the mood is right tho!

@coolbeans42 looks right kooky  Animation looked okay, but you have a very strong black outline goin' wid the hat, d'you think you cud experiment a little and maybe reduce the outline width a bit, see how it changes? Also, I'd put a similar outline on the rest of the character too! :wub

    :kaoluv: I MADE A MOCKUP:

    alice_forest_mockup.png

Some tiles from the Magic Forest of Faffrinal, a place of love and desire!:kaoluv: Not sure what I'm up to wid the water tiles yet :kaoswt: I want animated water, but makin' autotiles is always a compromise between square corners or wonky lines... Might splurge and jus' make animated events do the shoreline! :kaoswt2:
  17. @alice_gristle oh I adore the colours, would the rock colours be the same as wood though? I found trying to change the colours of textures that having two the same or similar would cause confusion if you were to do smaller objects.

Today for me was crab draft day:
    Crab draft.gif
Colours just temporary till I get a general idea of form and shape.
  18. @Holder I know what you mean! Imma look into some alternative colours for either the cliffs or the tree trunks, I'm just iffy of bringing more colours into my neat 'n tidy palette

Crab face? Adorable and menacing at the same time, nice job! :wub

Well I did a bit of looking into alternatives, my old old game used to have different colours for nature stuff. I found it kinda fun to try new colours for things. Anyways I looked at the three different colour wheels and tweaked the cliff but you could always do the same for the wood instead.
The colours I got was Orange, lime or Royal blue:

Personally I like the dark orange, then it goes with your path colour.
  20. Could someone give me some feedback on this sprite I made for an enemy in my game? I used NES color palette limitations (4 colors + black. The greenish background is for transparency.)

Also, just for comparison and because I want to show off my drawings, here's the concept art sketch I made for this guy.
