  3. Hello Everyone!

    Quick Update:

Mapping Mapping Mapping.... seems like that's all I do lately but hey, I love it! :)

We've been working on progressing the game, working on balance, and polishing up some things and so I've decided to make a little video preview of Elendyne for you all.

We hope you like it! Stick around for more news in the coming weeks!
  4. Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since our last post but a lot of things have happened in our lives in the past few weeks that has temporarily stalled production. Though here and there I've been doing some things...

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate Saberwolfcdw on his very recent engagement! Woo woo!

My fiance and I are very happy for them as they are our best friends! Also, my fiance and I have come to find out that we are Pregnant! Omg! There's gonna be a mini me and I just cant wait. We are just over 12 weeks along now.

With all that you can imagine we've been a little busy with things but to add to it... I got a recent promotion at my place of work to Store Manager! So, yeah... work work work...

With all this, we do plan to continue work on our game soon and I really hope we can continue to have the same following and get more as well. Please stay tuned for some future updates and thank you kindly for your support of our project!
  5. Congratulations to you both!!
  6. Great news! And Congratulations!
  7. Hello! Okay guys, I thinks it's time for me to fess up. I have not worked a shred on this game since my last post. Life has been getting in the way a tad (not to mention my untimely addiction to FFXIV:ARR with my fiance lol), BUT, I have some free time at this weekend and I've decided to use it to work on the game some.

With my mind refreshed, coming back to the game has made me realize that we really have something going here. I hope our time away has not discouraged you from wanting to play through Daryl's story!

    Expect an update this weekend!

    Much love!

    Edit:

I have been working on the game some this weekend and have been making events like no other! I plan to make a bit of a Promotional Trailer for the game soon as well.

I wouldn't mind some more feedback for the game (new and old players) and the demo is still available for download.

I'll make sure to fill you all in as soon as I have more to share plus have an updated demo once it's ready! ;)
  8. Played it till the Tower of Venus.

It was pretty good, polished and funny to play, with very nice mapping and well developed characters, I think Corran is my favourite.

Basically the game has no flaws, apart from the random battles (which are a little too frequent and frustrating), if you could put mapped enemies everywhere (like in the tower) the whole thing would be certainly better.

The game is mostly RTP but has some serious potential overall and (as I said) no real problems, I like it...good job.

I think I will support it, do you mind if I add the banner (with the link to this topic) in my signature? I like giving good games more visibility.
  9. That is totally fine! Thanks so such for the positive feedback!

As far as the enemy encounters... I have been thinking of doing that and may still implement something along those lines in the future. The only issue I run into is map sprites for all of the monsters and for future monsters. But that seems to be a common request from people so it's definitely being considered. Thanks again!
  10. Ok, finally I've finished it, it was a truly enjoyable experience.

I also added the banner in my signature, wish you good luck with your project!

    Quick update!

So, I've been working a lot on eventing story line cut-scenes lately and I needed a little break from that. So, I decided to work on the visuals a little more. I decided I wanted to make everything flow better and since I was using a lot the RTP for the majority of the game it gave me the idea to use the same tilesets for battle backs. I'm really happy with the outcome and I hope you guys will enjoy it as well!

Oh, and since I purchased the DS+ Resource pack I felt the Chibi Style battlers would flow better with the art style! :D

    What do you all think?
  12. well the chibi battlers fit better since they are made to fit as like the normal sprites in the RTP...

as for map enemy sprites, well you could just use a certain sprite for a certain range of enemies (like weak troops has the same sprite used in the map, or you could also use troop member count as the factor on what sprite to use etc) to cut up on sprite need in case you're thinking of 1 sprite per troop which will truly need a lot of sprites... XD
  13. I personally use some sort of a modified ghost sprite for the mapped enemies, and a different sprite or the battler picture for the bosses (on map). It's very easy to implement, and still looks cool this way.

    The custom background is nice.
  14. Per request, we will be doing away with random encounters and hence forth all enemies will be mapped! I plan to release an updated demo with these changes in the near future. Stay tuned! :D

    Edit:
Also, what would you think of a reward system, like a hunter's log, that rewarded the player for killing a certain amount of enemies based off enemy type and/or region?

That's a lot better, with mapped enemies everywhere (except for the world map), run away from monsters will make the game even more fun to play. About the reward system, I believe a conspicuous reward after beating some wanted\stronger\unique monsters around the world (like in FFXII) will be a very interesting addition.
  16. That's not a bad Idea there Dalph! :D I'll definitely think it over. In the mean time here is another screeny!

  17. the way that those chibi battlers look downwards is quite off for a sideview battle... IMO...

if most of the sprite battlers look downwards, better yet put the actor battlers below and make them face upwards...
  18. I see what you're saying. That may be what I end up doing. :) I'll play around with it a bit. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. or simply find more battlers looking to the right... though that might be harder than simply relocating the actor battlers and use the more abundant down-looking sprite battlers... anyway, it's looking great... XD
  20. Lol I agree there are not nearly enough pre-made sideview battlers (chibi ones at that)! I say someone should make a resource pack with an abundance of them! Thanks again!
