  1. Everyone's posting their work and saying they're nearly done, meanwhile here i am speedrunning everything because today finally school has freed me.
  2. Don't worry, @Erif . I'm still working on my Intro. It's almost done. No, seriously. It is.
  3. Quick question about the theme; The rules specify a Christmas-themed game, and I was wondering if it would be permissible to substitute Christmas with a fictional alternative that shares aesthetic and thematic similarities?
  4. Just one more day before we can finally submit our projects :)

I believe someone is doing a Yule-theme game instead of Christmas, which has similar Christmas feel & spirit. And that's ok.

For me you can, be aware though that if you put weird and controversial stuff into it, you will have to be the one paying a fee to each judge, and please note that I'm significantly more expensive than the others. You are welcome?
  9. Seeing the previous post from @Dalph ...ZKR looks at his game...then goes online and adds an espresso machine, cheddar popcorn, a calendar of pretty/cute blondes, a pineapple pizza, some puzzle books, a fighting game, and some #2 pencils to his shopping cart...hope I didn't miss anyone...

If the game world calls it something other than Christmas but it is deffo an alternative world Christmas, I think that'd be OK!
  11. I have all my tiles I will be using made, 2 out of 4 cutscenes made (minus the endings) Then the sprites(luckily I only have two characters in the game) one bust for one character. After all this I will be done.

#2 pencils? What are those? Are youbtelling me that besides length, temperature, weight and speed, Americans now also have their own scale for measuring the hardness of a pencil? ✏️

If it is as logical as all the other scales you got, #1 is probably the default, #2 is super hard and #3 is soft like a crayon?

    Go metric! Go metric! :p
  13. @JohnDoeNews Let me help you out with more information on the delicious treat that is the orange, #2 pencil. RAWR. Been that way since I was a child.

What is a No. 2 Pencil?
  14. Umm, It appears like my game jam entry has become a lot more ambitious than I thought, and I have so much more content I plan to add than what it already has. So I had an idea to build more content on this game after the game jam and make it a commercial release. What do you guys think? It may also allow me to make this upcoming jam entry a demo with limited content compared to what I have planned. The free time I had just allowed me to make so much content it's crazy. If I cannot de-scope this, might as well make it the ambitious project it wants to be post-jam. :yswt:

It's the school standard pencil because it's easy for Scantron machines to read when you do those multiple choice standard exams
  16. The H and the B, that is the ones I know. I guess #2 = HB? Anyhow.... didn't mean to drag all of you off topic. :p

Controlling the scope of a project is quite a difficult task. Sometimes inspiration arrives as a in small pencil case while other times it comes in a crate.

Yup. Inspired creativity has been flooding in, and it seems like I don't have the power to stop it. >.< Thus my entry became an ambitious project with a lot of content. :yswt: However, as an entry, it will have limited content to cater to the game jam itself. Like a demo of what's to come. xD
  19. @Starmage I am planning on doing something similar, only probably not commercial. My Game Jam concept is WAY bigger than 20 minutes. But I am excited to actually try to finish it so I plan on making my Game Jam entry fit as best I can in the 20 minute marker and then keep working on it to eventually share it as a larger game.

I don't have any expectations about winning the Game Jam. I am just excited to be motivated to work on something again. And to share what I am able to complete by the deadline.
  20. That sounds awesome, @ZombieKidzRule , I'm glad I'm not the only one who's stuck on wanting to expand the entry ever since its conception xD I'm looking forward to playing and seeing how your game jam entry expands after the jam, Zombie. :yswt:
