  1. Hi guys!

    This is my collection of original assets made for RPG Maker MV. If you are looking for similar stuff, there is also my XP Thread and my general Thread.

    I have been working on creating original pixel art (and drawn sprites) for quite a while now. As you will see, the styles I like to choose are very different from the RTP look. I know, this makes using them harder, as they will most probably stand out in a project that uses RTP resources, but I have made it my mission to provide some unique assets in a fesh style. So I hope as I continue making those, and my collection grows, it becomes a viable alternative at least for small projects.

    EDIT: by the way, all of my assets are original works by me, so no RTP or other stuff included, which means that there are no restrictions as to which Maker versions or other engines you can use it in.

    So first off, to get the obligatory terms out of the way:

    You may:
    • use all of the assets in this thread for free
    • use the assets in non-commercial or commercial projects
    • edit, recolour and combine with other assets to your heart's content
    • repost my assets in other forums or posts, as long as you give credit in your post and add a link back to this thread or my homepage (or any other original post by me where you found the assets)
    But:
    • you must credit me ("Sevarihk" or Aurora")
    • you must not present them as your own assets
    • if you finish a project that includes one of my assets, I would appreciate a free copy

    So, that out of the way, here come the assets:

    This set comes with three animations: "turn on" for starting the flow, "continuous" for just having the water/blood run endlessly, and "turn off" for stopping the flow. I have tried to mark them accordingly and I hope my approach makes sense. I have also included the markings in the animation previews for better understanding.

    If you would like to have even more Characters in this style, you might consider using a plugin for more character frames (like this one: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/more-character-frames.46759/) and using some of the sprites I made for XP in my other thread.

    This one was originally made for XP, but I completely reworked it for the tile size and layout of RMMV. I made both versions for a community collection with a deadline, so that's the reason there is not so much decorative clutter... But I have already planned making a little expansion in the future.

    So this is my (small but growing) MV asset collection. I hope you like it and can find something useful. If you do find mistakes, please tell me about it, I am not so familiar with MV formats yet, so I might still mess up autotile placement for example.
  2. Wow! Very nice! Thank you!
  3. Awesome charsets and tilesets!
    Looking forward to the next update—that Minotaur looks cool!
  4. It's splendid. A great, great job.
  5. Thanx, guys, glad you like it :kaoblush:
  6. Hi guys! I have a few new assets for you!

    First of all I went ahead and converted some of my Charsets that I had made for RMXP to work with MV, too. Since I usually make chars taller than the XP default size, they should also work quite well in a 48x48px tile surrounding. There are some more that I have not come around to convert yet (such as my giant stone face statue), which you will find in one of the next updates. Unfortunately, there are also some that I am unable to convert without considerable loss of quality. This is due to the reduction of frames in a walk cycle from 4 (XP) to 3 (MV). Some of my assets (such as my animated 4 directional raft) would require me to redraw considerable parts of the animation completely to make them work with just 3 frames. And I don't really have the motivation for that... :kaodes:

    HOWEVER, I could reformate most of my charsets, so get yourself ready for my quirky little creatures!

    First off, a little demon with a little hovering idle animation. He goes well with that summoning pentagram I posted before.
    demon_purple_MV.png-> demon_purple.gif

    Next up: a mysterious traveling merchant with two different idle animations

    magic_merchant_MV1.png magic_merchant_MV2.png -> magic_merchant.gif

    Who has been on my thread since the last update, has already seen a little sneak peek of this one. A classic minotaur who is so swole, your heroes won't even know what hit 'em!

    minoson_MV.png-> minoson2.gif

    And while we are on the topic of classic enemies: after your heroes have wrestled with a minotaur, why not have them hunt down a sea serpent?
    Comes in the flavors "idle", "aggressive", and "hurt". With a little tinkering, this one might even be usable as an animated SV battler...
    wasserschlong_MV_idle.png wasserschlong_MV_attack.pngwasserschlong_MV_hurt.png

    wasserschlong_idle.gifwasserschlong_snap.gifwasserschlong_ouchie.gif

    And because not every encounter on the ocean has to be so dramatic and dangerous: take a breather and have a chat with this little ball of fur:

    hamster_im_blatt_MV.png-> hamster_im_blatt.gif

    Also, life buoy!

    rettungsreif_MV.png-> rettungsreif.gif

    And before we are done with the water related stuff, here is an anchor. I do not have my own ship tileset (yet), but I just felt like there is a lack of animated mechanical stuff... (it comes with two distinct animations for letting it drop into the water or pulling it back up, I just forgot to make a gif of the second animation)

    anchor_MV.png-> anchor_droppng.gif

    Since I love to fill my maps with life by adding little idle animations here and there, I made a little parrot that cleans his wings.

    fogel_an_der_stange_MV.png-> fogel_an_der_stange.gif

    Another little animation on the side: a grammophone! So now the heroes don't have to wonder where those music tracks come from that they keep hearing on every map.
    grammophon_MV.png-> grammophon.gif

    And to add to the vintage style, I also converted these mechanical parts.
    steampunk_mech_parts_MV.pngsteampunk_mech_parts_preview1.gif steampunk_mech_parts_preview2.gif steampunk_mech_parts_preview3.gif

    This next one took quite some time to reformat, I hope the way I laid out the frames makes sense...
    1st up: a pirate flag:
    piratenflagge_MV.png->piratenflagge.gif
    And a white makeshift flag:
    wimpel_weiss_MV.png-> wimpel_weiss.gif
    I also made a very basic flag with some color variations, I put them a spoiler so you won't have to scroll so much... If any of you need a flag like this in a different color, just tell me and I can edit one for you real quick.

    wimpel_purple_MV.png

    wimpel_rot_MV.png

    And to top things off, I have been making a little halloween tileset over the last month. It's not quite final yet, but I think it's coming along nicely so far.

    I hope you like the assets and feel free to leave any comments or ideas :kaoluv:

  7. Hi guys!

    I have some new stuff for you!

    So, I have been working on some character templates lately, because animating each character individually does take a lot of time (though it does have its advantages, too). This template that I have been working on is supposed to be a little more flexible than just male/female bases. I have basically divided the body into different parts and added variable options to most of them. For example, there are thin arms and buff arms, there is a lean, muscular torso or a thicker one, you can use broad hips or smaller hips, small boobs, bigger boobs or no boobs and so on. The main challenge is making it all compatible with each other and then having matching clothing options for each body part combination.
    It's a slow process, but with each new piece, the variety of combinable sprites increases.

    So, this is the first batch of charsets that came out of it. Most of the clothes below have options for the other body parts as well, so if you see a character that you would like with a different body type, some clothes from another character or with other colours, just drop me a message and I can pretty easyily change things around and create a custom character (or if you'd like to experiment with the parts yourself, I am happy to share the layers with you guys).

    So, lets start out with a few modern NPC characters

    Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild
    Bild Bild
    I realised this guy looks like an old face picture I drew years ago, so I recoloured him to match it more closely.
    Bild Bild Bild

    Since most RPG Maker games tend to go for a medieval/fantasy setting, I also worked on some matching clothes.

    Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild

    Then I also added some aztec options to fit the tileset I am working on (it's gonna be XP, though. But maybe some of you can still find a good use for a few colourful tribes people).

    Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild

    And to keep things interesting, I also added some more fishy body options.

    Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild Bild

    Bild Bild Bild Bild

    So this is the gist of what the template can produce up to this point, but I am already working on some more variations and additions. Right now I am working on some viking inspired nord men and women with kilts, weapons and armor and I am also increasing the range of medieval clothes. I am also thinking I might make use of the faces I have made in my general thread and create matching chars for some of them...

    On a different front, I have been working on a tree trunk house for XP and then have reformated it for MV, including variable trunk height. It should work as a C Tileset, but please tell me if you find any errors, as I am not as used to working with MV compared to XP.

    C_tree-trunk-MV.png

    Preview
    This is what a map using this tileset looks like in XP, but it should be pretty much identical in MV
    (the autotile is still WIP, but I will most probably reformate it for MV, too, once it is done)

    tree_trunk_test4.png
  8. Hello guys! I got some new stuff to share with you!

    First of all, that tree trunk tileset I posted in the last update now has some oversized grass blades, so you can make it look like your characters have been shrinked!

    Bild
    I also reformatted some more characters I have made for use in XP. Most of these are made with my character template, where most parts are interchangeable. So again, if you would like edits or new combinations of hair and clothing, just message me, thats probably just a matter of a few minutes to put that together.

    Let's start with some desert elfes:
    BildBild Bild Bild

    I also made some kilted celtic/norse/viking people ready to plunder! The kilt comes in "regular" and "great kilt" and can be combined with the medieval shirts.

    BildBild Bild Bild

    BildBild BildBild

    BildBild Bild Bild
    (I am kind of proud of that shield maiden. Getting the braided hair right took me forever and went from looking like a bsaketball to looking like some sashimi on her head, till I finally got it to look like braids).

    I also made some characters that look more like your typical fantasy RPG characters:

    BildBild BildBildBildBild
    I based the last one on a bust set I made a few years ago, so she matches that quite well.
    Bild Bild Bild

    And finally, there is some more modern characters. Since I made it a core feature of the template to come with combinable body parts regardless of gender, I basically HAD to make a female bodybuilder.

    Bild Bild

    That last one here is the only one of the bunch that was not made using the template. I like to mix in individually animated characters from time to time, so they don't all look like they're from the same mold.
    Bild Bild

    Then here comes something a little more specific from a request: giant paper windmills.
    They come in tall (around 7 tiles tall) and somewhat shorter (around 5 tile stall) and in a bunch of different colors.
    Paper windmill
    Bild

    the animation is a little tricky in MV, so I made this guide. Basically only use the middle frame (highlighted in green) and change from frame to frame (with "the look up", "look left" etc. command) following the purple line. When you're through, jump back to the first frame and loop the movement route and you get a looping animation as above.

    Thats it for now. I hope you like my new additions! If you have any requests or Ideas, especially about the character template, don't hesitate to let me know! :kaojoy:
  9. There is some pretty cool stuff here and some very good skill behind it xD

    Once there is a bit more stuff to play around with I'll be sure to use it Sometimes :D
  10. Thanks! Glad you like it!
    Yeah, I have way more stuff for XP because I like the way that RPG Maker version handles tiles and characters. So I only occasionally have the motivation to make new stuff for MV and not everything I make for XP can be made to work in MV :kaodes:
  11. Well anything you make is apppreciated as it needs skill, time and inspiration to do xD
    And we all have a prefered platform for whatever reason so that's understandable :)

    At first glance it looks to me that your style could go well with @SmashArtist 's style so that creaties more possibilities to actually use them :)

    And finally that sea serpent is just sick! Really well done. Love it!

    PS: the amount of detail you got on the corn stalk is amazing btw.
  12. @Sevarihk When i use this characters on the RPG Maker MV. It's so small, why?
  13. Your spriting is lovely. :kaojoy:
  14. @Roxen010 They are small because they were originally made to work with the 32x32 pixel tiles of XP. I was able to change their formating pretty easily to make them usable in MV, but changing their size would almost be as much work as completely redoing them, if I do not want to lose any quality. So that's why theyre quite small. You could just double their size, that would get them closer to tall MV characters, but that would also mean unequal pixel scale in comparison to the tiles, which is not a very good look...

    Thank you, @fluffymonster !
  15. @Sevarihk I got it, thank you so much! :hhappy:
  16. These are so well made! Looking forward to more updates!
  17. Would've been nice to know that you finished the Halloween ones you made for me but now it's too late to make my game for Halloween...
  18. Hey, guys (and gals and friends)!

    I havent updated here in a while, since I mostly prefer working with XP. But I was still itching to try out different styles and those 48x48 tile dimensions certainly are a lot of fun, too. So, I have decided to start making a new little tile collection in MV. Since I tend to go overboard with big new tileset ideas, I have come up with a plan to structure my ideas in smaller units that incrementally build upon another.

    So here is the plan:
    I try to make a bunch of interior MV tilesets in a consistent style but with varying themes and settings. The basis for this will be a modern interior set for a typical home, Inluding A tiles and a B and C tileset with basic furniture and clutter.
    Building on these, I will design small-ish "rooms", following a more specific theme. These themes may include somewhat basic themes such as "teenager's room", "office" or "basement", but might also get weird/specific or be set in a different time or fantasy setting, like "witche's kitchen", "space ship bridge" or "sushi restaurant". Any A tiles I create while designing these rooms will be added to the base A tile and any B-E tilesets can be used as addition the besic B/C tileset or with the tilesets from the other rooms.

    At the moment, I am working on finalizing the basic tilesets and have a work-in-progress "classroom" tileset.
    These tiles will still be expanded or changed, especially the palette might get tweaked in the future, but I still wanted to share with you hat I got so far... :kaothx:

    A4 (Walls):

    A5 (Normal):
    interior-tiles-ground set.png

    B:
    interior-tiles-furniture1.png

    C:
    interior-tiles-furniture2.png

    and the optional school tileset:
    interior-tiles-furniture-school.png

    Right now the base tiles can be used to make homes like this one:
    screenshot
    interior-tiles-test7.png

    And by adding the school tileset, one can make classrooms like these:
    screenshot school
    MV-interior-school.png
    interior-tiles-furniture-school-test3.png

    I have also started working on the next room, which is simply a "basement" and it currently looks like this:
    screenshot basement
    interior-teeest-keller.png

    So yeah, this is what I have been up to lately. What do you think? Is this something that could be use fulto you? Are there certain room themes that you would like to propose? Or maybe you think that one of the rooms need certain additions? Do you like the style (I usually work neither with outlines, nor with a restricted palette, so I would appreciate any feedback)?
  19. Hey guys, gals and friends!

    I have made some progress on those new MV tiles that I would like to share with you!

    First up, I have realised that my base interior tiles did not include a bed, so I have added one.
    interior-tiles-furniture1.png

    I have also made good progress on the basement tiles:
    interior-tiles-furniture-basement.png

    The A4 tilesheet has also been updated to include some grey rough walls that better fit the basement environment (and some log cabin walls because I felt like it):
    autotile-templateMV-interior-walls-set3.png

    So now a basement made with these tiles can look somewhat like this:
    screenshot basement
    basement-test.png

    I have also started working on some basic exterior tiles in the same style:
    outside-test B.png
    Outside-A3.png
    outside-test-roofs-B.png
    outside-test-roofs-C.png
    which can be used to build houses like these:
    screenshot exterior
    exterior-test.png

    I have also worked on a little christmas calendar project in the unofficial German forum, for which I created some tiles for some gingerbread houses:

    x-mas-ground.png
    x-mas-ground-snow.png
    x-mas-version-walls-roofs.png
    x-mas-test-C.png

    With those you could build little gingerbread villages like this one:
    screenshot sweet village
    xmas-sugartown4.png

    I have also been working on a character template in a suitable size and with more frames than MV usually uses, but that one will still need a lot more work before I show it to you here.

    Since the basement tiles are getting closer to completion, I have already been thinking about what kind of rooms to work on next. I think I will make a little garage with a car and bicicles, and maybe some sort of tavern or bar room after that :kaopride:
  20. Hey there!
    I made a few little additions to the exterior tiles, mainly a castle wall and roof version. The lamp posts are still unfinished and I am not sure if I want to keep both versions...

    Outside-A3.png

    B:
    outside-test-roofs-B.png

    Can be used to make buildings like these:
