I guess it's almost time to get back to work on my "Three Trees" OST. I did this a few day ago but in the next few weeks I'm going to be working on updating all the tracks I've written and remixing them. You know, now that I've learned more things.

This island "The island of Iok" is all about fire, the summer festival, strength and protection, obsidian, and a volcano. Very tribal and Eastern feeling place. Yeah, it was rude of me to post and not answer the post above it. I've just been so busy.  ;_;

@ Drassray. I'm definitely going listen to the rest of your OST. So far I've listened to the second track on the channel named "theme." It's quite epic, starts with nice soft touches from the the piano and the flutes echo that later as well. But we have the bouncing strings with the horns and crashes. It makes me want to adventure. Go out and be a knight, or something! The Boss Battle has a good tempo and atmosphere. But I also feel like the clean guitar could be a little more, ha, dirty or at least have something with some more grip or urgency echo it. It's a good track as well though!

Hey! Thanks! I'm glad you like 'em. I was actually thinking the same thing on the battle music myself. I took a bit to listen to your song and its pretty cool! Its got this old age Chinese feel. Where did you get the sample of the "ah" voices? 

I got it from sf2midi.com. It's quite a maze on that website and they updated it so now I can't find anything where I used to! It would probably just be easier for me to send if to you (if you're interested) than for you to go looking for it! XD

drassray, these soundtracks are very nice! In my opinion, the best part is their superior quality of sound--may I ask what software you use in your compositions? They all sound so clear and natural.

Ms. Littlefish, "The island of Iok" is simple yet very expressive: you emphasize very powerful and complex ideas (the culture and civilization of Iok, for example) very well.

As far as sound quality I use a combination of my Yamaha Mox8 built in samples, built in instruments in Garageband for iPad, and Sample Tank for iPad as well. Everything is multitracked through Garageband for iPad. :)

Oh yeah! I've used Garageband for iPad as well. I recall the instruments are of superior quality, although I never really use it because it doesn't have a musical staff where you can drop in notes like on the computer versions.

Yeah. I'm not much of a composer when it comes to staff... Lol I play mostly by ear.

There is an almost Zelda quality in the interaction of the instruments. I really do that get the impression of castle town, so the song itself is succeeding.

In the heart of the country is it's capitol, Tarel. Deserted and barricaded from the rest of the continent. The city is populated by the spirits and animated corpses of the former townswmen. A literal ghost town. The survivors are seem gaunt and tending to the ghoulish figures their loved ones have become.They refuse aid, as they are ever faithful their leaders will return and restore them from the outpourings of Otherworld. But she left so long ago.

If you follow the melody of the voice, there are these lyrics to the hymn.

"Once long ago,
The sun turned pale.
Past the morning bell,
It flew away—
Westward bound
On the tree tops,
blue,
No bird, sang—
Today.
No lark song, no flower did rise.
To the gold moon song,
The dear lady left."

Incredible. I seriously think that someday this will be a smash hit.

@ Iron Croc. I've actually never heard this song of yours! It sounds like it comes from a very happy platformer. You do really well with 8-bit tracks ^_^

@drassray i don't know why but that song, eerie is very similar dungeon BGM i hear in my head all the time. Very creepy and it's nice !

The melody is nice but I feel like there's a lot going on. What genre is your game? It could use some tightening up and some more clarity. But it isn't bad. If the the guitar is meant to be in the background you might pull it back some.

edit: upon listening to it again.. It's growing on me. In fact the balance almost feels proper. See now I'm sending you mixed reviews. But I still feel like there's an element missing I can't put my finger on it. Gonna listen again lol

Edit 2:I figured it out! The flute. Is that why you asked me about the flute? I believe your song with the almost Japanese rock feel would benefit Fromm a more breathy flute!

The flute sound I used for Royalty is from Sample Tank on iPad. They have a PC/Mac version I believe.

Here's something new I've been working on for my album. It's a bit different for me and came about as a bit of an accident while messing around with a song for Descend that I was planning to scrap.

Currently trying to find someone to rap over it, which should be interesting to say the least.

I like this but I honestly think that either the flute needs to go bye bye or the guitar needs to be brought into the front more and then the flute notes should be changed to so it blends a bit better with the rest of the song.

I really liked this! But I too feel like there was just... that least little thing missing.   I liked how... Innocent and Young it sounds. :)
