  1. @ Mana I left a comment on the track but upon second listen I have to add that it reminds me of some tracks I'd hear in a Tales game.
  2. I made a 30minute, chillout soundcollage type thing. Mostly just made it for myself to zonk out to when intoxicated, but someone else might enjoy it to listen to or have on in the background while they work on their games or something

  3. @ Mana … I wonder if you ever played The Legend of Dragoon. This sounds like a track that could have easily been placed in that game and that is a good thing. It has that quality that would really suit a town or wooded-like environment.

@ Littlefish…  Truly a nice underwater and spacious feeling you are setting here. Surprisingly enough I also hear how this can easily be warped into a desert theme. It is hypnotic enough to really give the player a sense of the unknown  : )

I wanted to try combining 8bit instruments with some modern sounds to see what the end result would sound like. I had a lot of fun making this track and I think I might try to do more in this style. Feedback is always appreciated!
  4. So here's one of my all time favorite compositions, like ever. It's a theme song of a legendary warrior who knows Tanuki style kung fu.
  5. I was asked today if I was still working on my concept album, and the answer is yes. For those of you wondering, I have a ton of content recorded, but I am having trouble finding time to master and mix it all. My way of doing things is I record a bunch of riffs or melodies, stockpile them all, and then pick out what I like and go from there.

Anyways, to prove I am still here, I wanted to share a small teaser. For those not caught up with what I was doing, I have been doing a concept album that tells the story of the dropping of an Atomic Bomb and the world it leaves behind. You can catch up with this link.

This teaser track is very short, but I wouldn't mind some feedback. The track itself (the full version) will come late in the album. It is when the two nuclear nations that started the whole conflict are heading into their greatest and most deadly battle. It is an all or nothing battle as both nations are ready to finish their opponent. Everything and anything that gets between them is collateral and means little. This track is what leads into the climax of the entire album.

Like I said, it is short as it is only a teaser. However, I wouldn't mind some feedback. I mainly just want to know if it is interesting enough. Mind you, it isn't completely 100% final. The riff is pretty set, but the mixing and final master track could change up a bit before final release.

EDIT: Okay, I got in the mood to finish the whole track up when I posted that, so never mind that teaser. Here is the whole thing. Let me know what you guys think.

  6. @ hyde Now, this is some metal! It switches up nicely and keeps itself interesting. And I love that I'm starting to hear some reprise from you other pieces. I'm pretty sure I heard the "Devastation" motif in here. Or am I crazy? I think this is my favorite track so far. Then again, I'm a sucker for variation and melody reprise.

@ MR T Love the percussion and rhythms in here. It's a lovely surprise when the strings come in.

I can't remember if I ever posted the older version of this piece, and to be truthful, my edits were quite small to begin with. But this is the music of a carnival. Your memory of this place is clouded by childhood nostalgia. Now that you're older you've realized the bag of tricks and swindling on the side, not to mention, it looks pretty beat up.

  7. Yeah, you are absolutely correct. Thank you for catching that. See, this new album ("Innocence Lost") is telling a story throughout all the tracks (its a concept album), so you will hear pieces of that rhythm/melody throughout the tracks. It will come up ate different times, different time signatures, or it can be completely rearranged to sound different, but overall that melody will find its way into a few of the tracks on this album. If you listen to track 2, "Desolation", you can hear the deep bass synth is playing a distorted version of the melody in a very low scale. The notes are in different places, but it is supposed to feel like the situation being painted has gotten much much worse.
  8. Nothing major, just put some song snippets together in this to preview my album I'm working on.
  9. @AKA Laura

Not bad. Clash on the Big Bridge really fits for a tension scene on the Bridge.

I love the classical style in FINAL FANTASY. Is it a Final Fantasy melody, though?

    @Cyreides

The songs remind me of Dragonball Z, especially the 4th piece. Which is a good thing. Love the electro unique style. :) Good luck with your album!

And here is another battle theme. Can't help not to compose them lol. The second main battle theme for the Mana Aeliria game.

  10. @ Cyreides.... I heard all of your teasers, I think I am really interested in hearing how the song at :20 turns out. I actually really liked that build up. The same goes for the track starting at 2:00. I think I am secretly in love with EDM, but I haven't really tried creating many songs in that genre.

@Hyde ... Really digging that atmospheric feeling you are dropping in your tracks. This classic rock sound is incredibly soothing. Sounds like it could fit the scene of a destroyed city or something along those lines.

I have been in an RPG mood lately. Here is an RPG Battle Theme concept inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics.

  11. Ms Littlefish: I love it! It would suit both an RPG or an athletic level in a platformer.

Schematist: As I was listening, I said to myself "Please don't erupt into trance... Please don't erupt into trance."
Surprisingly to me, it didn't! It's very driving and the beat is that of your average battle theme, but the strings make it pensive. Even the bit with the 80's keyboards don't detract from the "Something epic's about to go down..." vibe.  Very well done.
Cyreides: It's alright. It sounds pretty ell put together, but trance really isn't my thing, personally... Keep it up though!
Mana Aeliria: It sounds very JRPG. It reminds me of Sailor Moon.Very well done overall! I dig the mystical feel.

but trance really isn't my thing
Is that what my music is lol?
  13. So, new music! First time since my dad got sick... :)

    Surreal...
  14. @ Iron Croc Definitely some Final Fantasy but definitely some Great Fairy in there too. I like how the chords get a little tense (still beautiful) but they just shift around enough to deepen a sense of mystery.

And guys, I've been writing sad piano songs again. I do have some happy ones. The piano is such an expressive instrument!  https://soundcloud.com/maireadgamemusic/long-september-piano-version
  15. Highly technological city/dungeon with lots of whirrling gizmos and gogs.
  16. @ Mister T It's sounding good. Really sets up an atmosphere. It's also the right amount of weird for me. I like songs that are a little unexpected and that part that starts at :48 does the trick. My only feedback would be to perhaps shorten that intro part a little. It goes on for quite awhile, while I wished the second part was longer!

Ok, guys. I have weird stuff. I'm entering the Indie Game Maker Contest and I've made some pretty good progress.

I'll start out with the non-weird song. My title screen. Without spoiling it, the game is a comedy, highly upbeat, and a lot about spoof of popular game culture and friendship.

    https://soundcloud.com/maireadgamemusic/hero-for-a-day-title-sceen

And this next one. It gets experimental, atonal, and weird, guys. The whistling in this is an inside joke of the highest order and I doubt anyone will understand the full meaning. As for the title, two things in RPGs are certain. Sewers and glitches.

    https://soundcloud.com/maireadgamemusic/in-rpgs-two-things-are-certain
  17. I absolutely LOVE it, Señorita Littlefish! The title Screen music, like I said, inspired me to enter the contest too.

I love the qualities of the other one too. I love the little seemingly random notes that waver off the scale, which is just your style.  Now in Soundcloud when your songs come on I'll be like "Yeap, that one's a Littlefish!"

    Well done, keep it up!

With that said, here's my first contribution to the Indie Game Contest.  Mine also will be a parody of sorts, but mine is parodying the Puzzle RPG games.

    Here's my title screen music!

And here's another song. Currently it's my crown jewel, so to speak.

Main level theme and weekly art challenge entry.
  18. Hi i'm new here and wanted to share some of my not-too-good music

New Day - It's the first music i made using mixer and vst in fruity loops. The sad part is i used fl for over a year now but know the function of the mixer just recently.

And here is the edited fersion of New Day - it's not really an edit, i just adding some bass and more looping of the track.

    thank you for listening.
