The only one I find that has an issue with the white backgroud is the one with the market tiles. I clicked your Imgur link and saved them from there and then opened them in Gimp to check. So I'm guessing perhaps you saved that one in the wrong format?
However, zip files should be fine.

Yeah, I just dragged them out to use and Mack_B tiles are saved as a JPEG, not a PNG ^_^ I think therein lies the problem

I've uploaded all the Mack tiles resized for MV, including the Seasons variants (winter, spring, etc) to a zip file. I couldn't find how to upload it to here, so I put it on Sendspace. Feel free to edit your original post and put a link to this for the community :) Also, the white background problem should now be gone.

As for the method, I resized to 150% then sharpened until they looked "good enough" and afterwards I softened them slightly. (I use paint.net) -
The first one is too blurry and honestly looks bad to me. But the 2nd one is perfect due to pixel sharpness and looks like it was handdrawn and not just filtered. I'm impressed granny!

I took the liberty of resizing all of the Mack tilesets I have found including the Season's ones from Titanhex I included all the files from both sets. I think they turned out fairly well. I used a program someone made called ImageResizer. I checked all the different methods it has to offer and picked the one I thought was the best. Enjoy all!

Edit: I noticed that some of the tilesets need adjusted ever so slightly. Not noticable unless you make a map in MV. I will look them all over and adjust them as fast as I can. If anyone beats me to that, send me the file(s) and I will reupload the zip file to my website.
