Horseventure is a horse racing game. The game starts at the horse selection screen with four horses. Hanael is a black shy cold-blooded stallion who runs slow and is for beginning players to get to know the game's mechanics, world, etc. Jophael is a brown good-natured cold-blooded stallion who runs a bit faster than Hanael and is for more skilled players. Urael is a cream assertive warm-blooded stallion who runs fast and is for average players. Samael is a white overconfident hot-blooded stallion who runs the fastest and is for expert players. You pick a horse you wish to play as and pick a mode: Grand Prix has you play through the game's story while racing against the other horses on all the tracks, Time Trial has you race against the clock on a race track of your choosing. After picking a mode, you pick a difficulty: Easy has you just race on the tracks, Normal puts enemies on the tracks that you have to dodge, and Hard puts traps as well as enemies on the tracks. Each difficulty has its own set of tracks, so you aren't racing on the same ones all the time.

The story goes that the horses on the planet Grassia are holding a race to see who is the fastest horse. You start off on the hub world (picture 1), where you have to explore to find races to enter. You race against the other three playable horses on eight race tracks, eating haystacks scattered across a track to briefly gain speed and coming in first place to win the race. Whoever wins each race wins the grand prix. After the grand prix, Grassia gets invaded by space pirates that intend to take over the world, but the player talks them into holding a race for the fate of the world. But the pirates say you have to prove yourself worthy of racing against them by winning another grand prix first - but with a catch: you have to collect coins scattered across the tracks AND win each race. After that, the pirates issue another challenge: now you have to get in first on each lap of the race. After that, the pirates challenge you to collect coins again AND get in first on each lap of the races. Then the pirates finally race against you, and, should you win, they leave the world; else, they take the world over. The story takes place over the course of a year (first grand prix is in spring, second is in summer, etc.).

As you can see, the hubworld resembles an amusement park, but I wish to add more details to it. Also, the second picture is a template race track that I intend to build on. If you have any comments, suggestions, concerns, or questions about the game, let me know!

    Demo 8
  2. I played your game and gave some feedback, with the aim to make it feel more exciting and keep the adrenaline pumping. Along with smaller maps you might also consider putting areas on the map that increase your movement similar to how quicksand slows you down. Some interaction between horses as well would be good.

Thank you for playing my game for your video series! Your criticism and advice were very helpful and I intend to implement them and make the game more like Mario Kart. The issues with the pause menu should be fixed in demo 8. I think you played demo 7? If you did play demo 8, than the issue isn't fixed and I'm glad you told me about it. If there's anything else you'd like to tell me, feel free to. No need to play demo 8 for your video series, it's the same as demo 7 except with some very small changes.

I hope your game making is going well and you knock your game out of the park! Be careful about publishing on Steam and the Epic Store. Valve and Sony are deleting published games that include either adult content or right-wing content, while Epic Store is cheating devs out of money (their share of the sale is way too high). I'd recommend having your own website, that way you have total control over how your game sells.
  4. @Burgerland they're deleting gaes that have right wing content? Thats pretty scary considering the west is a 2 party system and both sides are suppose to have a say.

I'm not entirely sure which version I played but it's a safe bet to test that bug out and see if it persists.

Glad my feedback was helpful. :)

Also thanks! My game is slowly going along. I started playing Dark Souls 3 so I kind of haven't gotten much done on my game yet lol. I'm almost finished though and then can get back to my game haha.

Sony are deleting games with adult content? Wouldn't that include last of us part 2? Hmm...

I'm dumb for replying to you on two different threads. Here's my reply: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/fleshtodust-first-look-videos.119921/page-5

  6. Horseventues is a horse racing game with survival elements, and various racing modes and characters to choose from! The game is now 3D thanks to the MV3D plugin! Below are links to 3d demo version 1 and its manual.

    Manual (Notepad)
    Linux demo
    Mac OS X demo
    Windows 7+ demo

Race tracks are incomplete. Food and obstacles are not yet a part of the races, so I've activated an infinite health and infinite speed cheat for the demo. Spring is the only available season, save for on the title screen.

    Known bugs and problems include:
    * Beehive track has a tile wall that shouldn't be there (more info here)
    * Low frames per second, game chugs a bit
    * Impassable tiles are passable
    * Horse sprites are in wrong positions on the sprite sheets
    * No analog stick movement

There are many changes and new additions to the game, so please read the manual before you try the demo. Let me know what you think of the game so far and what you want added and/or changed to the game. Thank you for reading the manual and playing the demo.

    1. Controls
To browse the Title Screen Menu and interact with the game, you need to use Controls.
Depending on your device, you will have different Controls for Horseventures. Such as
a Gamepad, Keyboard, Mouse, or Touchscreen. A Computer Touchscreen will work
just as well as a Phone Touchscreen. You can use multiple Controls at once, such as
Keyboard and Mouse, for a better experience. Below you will find the game's Controls.

The Modes determine how the game is to be played.

    2.2 System Menu
This Menu changes the game's Volume and Graphics.

    2.3 Exit Game
Selecting this will close the game for you. You can close the game manually in
Windowed Mode using the "X" box on the upper right corner of the game. Tap
or left click the "X" to close the game.

    3. Modes
Each Mode makes the game play differently. You can only choose one Mode.
After you select a Mode, you select a Horse to control and play as in the Race.
To learn more about Horse Selection, read the chapter "Select Horse."
Below you will find the game's Modes, and how they change the game's play.

    4.4 Exit
Returns you to the Title Screen Menu.

    5. Select Horse
You can either choose a Horse, or return to the Title Screen by selecting Exit.
The Horse you choose is who you'll be controlling and playing as in a Race.
There are fourteen Horses to choose from, each one with a different colored
Coat: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Purple, Pink, Brown, Cream,
Black, Gray, White, and Variegate. Each Horse also boasts different Stats.

    5.1 Profile
When you choose a Horse, you get a Profile of the Horse that details its
Name and Stats. To learn more about Stats, read the chapter "Horses."
Along with a Profile are four options: Select Me, Change Name, Change
    Body, and Exit.

    5.2 Select Me
Confirms your choice and takes you to the Select Cup Menu. You cannot
change your name or body once the Mode starts.

    5.3 Change Name
Renames the Horse. Maximum characters allowed is 16. The option "OK"
confirms the name and returns you to the profile. The option "Page"
switches between the alphabet page and the tilde page. The blank space
to the left of the option "Page" acts the same as the spacebar. Cancel
Command acts the same as the backspace. You can input cheat codes.
Unless you input a code that specifically deactivates the cheat, renaming
a Horse after you have inputed a cheat code will not affect said cheat.

    5.4 Change Body
There are four Bodies to choose from: Equine (a horse with no human parts),
Centaur (a human with a horse body), Reverse Centaur (a horse with a human
body and a loincloth), and Anthro (a human with a loincloth and horse ears).
You can change the Color of the Equine's Mane and Tail, Centaur's Hair and
Tail, Reverse Centaur's Mane, and Anthro's Hair and Loincloth. There are
fourteen Colors to choose from: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo,
Purple, Pink, Brown, Cream, Black, Gray, White, and Variegate. To return to the
    previous choice, select Exit.

    5.5 Exit
Cancels your choice and returns you to the list of Horses.

    6. Horses
They are horses that can talk and shape-shift (e.g., change their Bodies).
Horseventures is popular with the Girls, who cheer the Horses on from the
race stands. Today's gallopers are all stallions.

    6.1 List
Below is a list of all fourteen Horses and their Stats. Stats are the Horse's
Prowess, but only you can determine if your Horse wins or loses the Race.
Horse Stats include: Acceleration (your starting speed), Top Speed (how
fast you can gallop), and Endurance (how long you can gallop at Top Speed
before you become weary. You can recover your Top Speed and a percentage
of your Health by eating Food). Speed is measured in Horsepower.

the Horsepower (X) in relation to the Endurance (Y). Each Horse is
represented by the first letter of his name (ex: "T" is for Thomas).
This way you can figure out which Horse is best suited for you.

    7. Cups
A Cup is a series of Races. There are four Cups to choose from: Apple,
Carrot, Oat, and Hay. You can only choose one Cup. There are five
Tracks per Cup. In Grand Prix Mode and Championship Mode, select
a Cup to see a list of the Tracks in it in the order in which you try them
(ex: the first Track is the starting Track). "Select Cup" confirms your choice
and begins the Mode that you have chosen. In Versus Race Mode and
Time Attack Mode, you select a Track after selecting a Cup. "Exit" returns
you to the previous choice. Beginners may want to try out the Apple
    Cup first for practice's sake.

    7.1 Apple Cup
Easiest Cup. Tracks include: Diamond Cave, Blossom Park, Bamboo Jungle,
Coconut Beach, Lava Plains, Downtown Slope, Windmill Farm.

    7.2 Carrot Cup
Easy Cup. Tracks include: Flowery Desert, Muddy Vale, Neo Highway,
Giant Beehive, Shroom Groove, Toxic Wastefill, Western Front.

    7.3 Oat Cup
Hard Cup. Tracks include: Stone Mines, Winding River, Fish Belly, Space
Rainbow, Getaway Cruise, Block Raceway, Foghorn Swamp.

    7.4 Hay Cup
Hardest Cup. Tracks include: Ocean Tier, Treetop Village, Antique Shrine,
Evil Castle, Sugar Circuit, Teeny City, Creepy Woods.

    7.5 Rename Cups & Tracks
Renames the aforesaid Cups and their Tracks. "Change Cup Names" lets you
choose the Cups' names. "Change Track Names" lets you change the Tracks'
names. "Default Names" undoes all name changes.

    7.6 Create A Cup
Create a Custom Cup. "Change Name" lets you choose this Cup's name.
"Change Tracks" lets you choose this Cup's seven Tracks; "Erase Tracks"
removes all the Tracks from this Cup. "Select Cup" works once you've
    chosen all seven Tracks.

At the end of a Cup, the Horses in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places receive a
celebration. But only the Horse in 1st Place is the Winner of the Cup.
Depending on how many Cups you win (or how many times you win
Custom Cup), you can get special prizes! Win one Cup for the Coin
Challenge. Win two for the Tournament Challenge. Win three for
Striped Socks and Print Coats. Win four for Girl Body and Car Body.

    8. Tracks
Spread across Grassia are various Race Tracks for the Horses to race on.
The Horses built the Tracks themselves, including supplying them with
Obstacles to avoid and their favore kinds of Food.

    8.1 Layouts
Below you can learn a bit about each Race Track. There are twenty-eight
in total. Each Track is represented by bars (----), impassable areas are
    represented by crosses (XXX).

    8.2 Tips & Tricks
Tracks are lined with Guard Rails, often made of natural materials (rocks, etc.).
You shouldn't gallop backwards on a Track. If you do, you won't win the Race.

    9. How To Race
A Race starts and finishes at the checkered Start/Finish Line. The Race starts
after the "3...2...1...Go" Countdown. Gallop down the Track using the Move
Command. Complete three Laps around the Track to finish the Race. Your
Placing and Points in a Race are determined by how many other Horses have
    finished the Race before you.

    9.1 Placing
Your Placing marks how well you dl id in the Race. Each Placing has a set
number of Points. Below is the Placing Chart.

Number Of Horses That Finish Before You....................................Your Placing
    0.....................................................................................................1st
    1.....................................................................................................2nd
    2.....................................................................................................3rd
    3.....................................................................................................4th
    4.....................................................................................................5th
    5.....................................................................................................6th
    6.....................................................................................................7th

    11..................................................................................................12th
    12..................................................................................................13th
    13..................................................................................................14th

    9.2 Points
The Placing you get earns you Points after a Race. Points do not stop you
from advancing to the next Race. Whoever has the most Points at the end
    - i.e., after all the Races are over - is the Winner of the Cup. The 1st, 2nd
and 3rd Placers receive a celebration at the end, so you should aim for
the most Points possible. Below is the Points Chart.

    Placing.........................Points
    1st................................1000
    2nd...............................500
    3rd................................250
    4th................................120
    5th................................60
    6th................................30
    7th................................10
    8th-14th........................0

Avoid touching any Obstacles to earn an extra 120 points. If you have
no Health left after a Race, than you do no earn any extra points.

    9.3 Obstacles
Throughout the Race Tracks are Obstacles that are meant to prevent
you from winning. When you move over an Obstacle, it affects you.

    Acute Spike:..............................Lose 25% Health
    Torrid Lava:...............................Lose 50% Health
    Frigid Ice:..................................Lose 75% Health
    Bottomless Pit:.........................Lose 100% Health

    9.4 Food
Food is scattered about the Track for you to eat. When you move over Food,
you recover your Top Speed and a percentage of your Health. Food includes:
Great Apples, Super Carrots, Ultra Oats, and Mega Hay.

    Great Apple:..............................Recover 25% Health
    Super Carrot:.............................Recover 50% Health
    Ultra Oat:..................................Recover 75% Health
    Mega Hay:.................................Recover 100% Health

    9.5 Results
When you finish the Race, the Timer ends, or you lost all of your Health, the
Race is over and the Results are shown. "Race Results" show each Horse's
Placing and Points in a Race. "Cup Results" shows each Horse's overall
Placing an Points in a Cup. You can fast-forward through both results via
the Confirm Command. Next comes the Race Menu. This Menu includes four
options: Next/Select Race, Settings Menu, Go To Title Screen, and Exit Game.
"Next Race" advances you to the next Race in a Cup. At the end of a Cup,
Next Race becomes "Cup Ceremony," which takes you to the Cup ceremony.
To learn more about the other options, read the chapter "Pause Game."

    10. Camera
The default Camera is the Far Camera. Each Camera has its own Controls
and own use of the Cardinal Directions (Up, Down, Left, and Right). Cameras
do not affect Menus, so Up Command on a Menu will make you browse up the
Menu and Down Command on a Menu will make you browse down the Menu.

    10.1 Far Camera
The Camera follows your Horse from behind. The Cardinal Directions correspond
to up, down, left, and right on the screen. Ex: Up Command will move you up.

    10.2 Near Camera
The Camera follows your Horse from close behind. The Cardinal Directions are
the same as the Far Camera's.

    10.2 POV Camera
The Camera is your Horse's viewpoint. Up Command changes your direction.
Left and Right Commands move you in that direction. Down Command does not
back you up, so, if you hit a wall, use Left or Right Command to move away
    from it.

    11. HUD
During a Race, the screen will display a Heads Up Display (HUD). The HUD shows
the Placing (how well you are doing in the Race), Map (where you are on the
Race Track), Bars (your Speed and Health), and Timer (the Time to complete the
    Race in).

    11.1 Map
The layout of the Race Track. It appears on the upper left corner of the screen.
The Track is represented by a white line. Your Horse is represented by a Square.
The other Horses are represented by Circles. Horse Icons are of their respected
    Coats (ex: Athanasius is red).

    11.2 Bars
The Speed Bar shows your Speed. The Health Bar shows your Health. When
you move at Top Speed, the Speed Bar is full and green; but should you slow
down, the Speed Bar depletes and turns from orange to red to purple. When you
are Healthy, the Health Bar is full and green; but as Time progresses your Health
will get worse and the Health Bar will deplete and turn from orange to red to
    purple (this will be affected by the Weather and the Season at Outdoor Tracks;
for example, the Cold of the Rain and the Heat of the Summer hitting you will
make your Health worsen faster). When the Health Bar is completely depleted
(purple), you lose all of your Health and the Race is over (to learn more about
the end of the Race, read the chapter "How To Race.") You can recover your
Top Speed and a percentage of your Health by eating Food.

    11.3 Timer
How much Time is left to complete a Race is shown by the Timer. It starts at
8 minutes and counts down to 0. At 0, the Race is over (to learn more about the
end of the Race, read the chapter "How To Race.") .

    11.4 Coin Stack
This only appears during Coin Challenge. It shows you how many of the ten
Coins scattered about the Track you have.

    12. Pause Game
Pause Command will stop the game and bring up the Pause Screen Menu. When
the game is stopped, the Race is paused so you can browse the Pause Menu.
The Pause Menu includes five options: Unpause Game, Retry/Select Race,
Settings Menu, Go To Title Screen, and Exit Game. Below you can learn more.

    12.1 Unpause Game
Confirms you want the Race to start again from the moment it was stopped.

    12.2 Retry/Select Race
In Grand Prix Mode and Championship Race Mode, this lets you restart the Race.
In Versus Race Mode and Time Attack Mode, this lets you select a Race; select the
same Race Track you are currently on to restart the Race.

    12.3 Settings Menu
This Menu changes the game's Volume and Graphics.

    12.4 Go To Title Screen
Ends the Race and takes you to the Title Screen.

    12.5 Exit Game
Selecting this will close the game for you. You can close the game manually in
Windowed Mode using the "X" box on the upper right corner of the game. Tap
or left click the "X" to close the game.

    13. Challenges
These make the Races harder to win, so do not choose either of them lightly.
Win one Cup to get Coin Challenge, then another to get Tournament Challenge.
The Challenges only work in Grand Prix Mode and Versus Race Mode, but
you can practice doing them in Championship Mode and Time Attack Mode.
In the Challenges Menu, there are up to four options: No Challenge, Coin
Challenge, Tournament Challenge, and Exit. "No Challenge" turns off all the
challenges. "Exit" returns you to Cup Selection. "Start Mode" commences
    the Mode you have chosen.

    13.1 Coin Challenge
You cannot earn any points unless you collect all 10 Coins scattered about a
Track. Move over a Coin to collect it. As you collect Coins, the Coin Stack will
    increase.

    13.2 Tournament Challenge
Horses that get in the last two places in a Race are eliminated from the Cup,
until there are only two Horses remaining in the final Race. If you get in one
of the last two places of a Race, than the Cup ends and you go to the Title
    Screen.
  7. Is that mode 7 I see? Fancy!
  8. As I'm continuing to iron out bugs and finish up the tracks, I was wondering if anyone would like the following: horseriding sprites - e.g., a jockey on a horse sprite that you can control in the race

Now, there would be two downsides:
    1) I'd have to get rid of all the horse coat colors except one. The reason is RMMV's limits on how many sprite sheets can be put in a game. Currently I have 200: 100 for all the horse coat colors (red, orange, brown, gray, etc.) and physiques (horse, centaur, reverse centaur, and anthro), 100 for sock variants of the aforesaid. E.g., red centaur, black centaur, blue horse, purple anthro, purple anthro with socks, etc. I can't add 200 more without the game crashing (unless I'm wrong), so, if I want to add a jockey to every horse sprite, it'd have to be one coat color. I'm thinking the brown coat given it's the most common among horses.
    2) distinguishing which horse is which on the mini-map and in the race would be near impossible given they all have the same coat color. The different coat colors is intended to avoid that problem. Having a horse's name above a horse wouldn't help, as it would clutter up the screen. Having a different jockey for each horse would put emphasis on the jockey rather than on the horse, even if I do like the idea.

Let me know what you think!
  9. Demo for Windows 7-10, Mac OS X, and Linux

Horseventures is an action adventure game starring Hightail, a young mare - or, if you so choose, a centauress or a horsegirl.

    [ISPOILER]View attachment 190189[/ISPOILER]

The Predator Empire, led by Aggro, has invaded the Kingdom of Grassia - a kingdom of talking horses! Only Hightail has stepped up to save the day. Guide her across plains, through forests, along mountains, and into caves and dungeons in search of Treasures.

    [ISPOILER]View attachment 190190[/ISPOILER]

With these Treasures, Hightail can vanquish Aggro and his Predators, solve the riddles of the Dungeons, find secrets everywhere, and save Grassia!
The door on the upper left of the Starting Screen leads to the Star Gun Cave, but where the other Treasures lay you must find out yourself.

Horseventures includes daytime and weather, which change when you exit a room to the outside. Some Caves include Minigames that dish out Coins. With Coins, you can buy Prizes!

    [ISPOILER]View attachment 190186[/ISPOILER]

The Settings Menu includes many options, including a built-in randomizer to randomize where you start your adventure, how much damage Predators deal you, where Doors lead you, and more!

The game's combat can be changed from Zelda-like (action adventure) to RPG-like (turn-based). The latter will include timed inputs, timed turns, and DnD dice rolling...as soon as I input the RPG battle system!

I apologize for the late update, but I've been busy a lot lately. I hope Horseventure is to your liking! I'm always looking for feedback, critique, and ideas for what you want in the game! Horseventures has been changed from a horse racing game to an action adventure game because the game kept lagging on large maps - with or without 3D!
  10. Horsepeople? That's an interesting turn of events. That will allow you to fantasy the game up some I imagine. By the way, your images aren't working as intended.

Thank you! I hope to make the game as weird as possible. I'm not sure how to fix the images, though.

Note 1: Turn-based combat will not work if you try it, as I'm still working on TBC. Dungeons are not in the game, as I'm still working on them.

Note 2: I'm looking for feedback so I can know of any bugs and whatever you want in the game

Horseventures is a horse adventure game based on the NES Legend of Zelda! Barry and his steed Hightail must travel across the Horse Kingdom Grassia, avoiding being gobbled up by Predators and searching everywhere for valuable Treasures (such as the Guns that can kill Predators), to find the Seven Skull Keys needed to open the way into Skull Mountain and save Grassia's Princesses from Predator King Aggro! Each Key is hidden away in a Dungeon, guarded by a Dungeon Master at the end of a series of riddles and puzzles that you must solve!

Besides Hightail, you have many allies on your side - but you must find them in Caves! There's Wonderbunny, who can sell you fabulous Prizes that will help you on your quest; the Save Fairy, who can save your game for you; and many more characters you will meet!

Horseventures features various mechanics not found in other games of its kind, such as following:
    - two different dimensions of play: switch between 2D and 3D whenever you want
    - two different battle systems: Real Time Combat (RTC), which means you fight Predators where they are (like in Legend of Zelda), and Turn Based Combat (TBC), which means you fight Predator in the traditioal RPG way (like in Final Fantasy)
    - change up the TBC camera view: fight Predators in 2D or 3D, first person or third person view
    - a Loading Stable, wherein the game's save files are horses that you can interact with (even pet them)...but what happens if you delete a save file?
    - a robust character creator on the Maker Screen, which even let you change your age and clothing
    - a built-in manual, which you can access at any time in case you get lost while exploring or need a helpful reminder on what to do or what an object is

In the Settings Menu, you can find such settings as:
    - 3D Diag. Isometric: isometric camera view goes from being top down (like in Legend of Zelda) to being diagonal isometric (like in Mario RPG)
    - 3D POV Graticule: a graticule will appear on screen when you're in first person view for easier gun aiming
    - 3D POV Cockpit: if you randomly become a Moe Mecha, using the Random Sprite setting in the Randomizer, than first person view will be from inside the Moe Mecha's cockpit
    - Friendly Fire: killable NPCs, including Save Fairies
    - Pred Rebirth: Predators you've killed on a previous Screen will show up again when you return to that Screen
    - Invis. Player: makes your sprite invisible, making the game harder to play
    - Invis. Pred: makes Predators invisible, simulating random encounters
    - Pause Music: music will stop playing on the Pause Menu
    - Screen/Treasure Autosaves: game will automatically save on each Screen or when you get a Treasure
    - Brief Dialogue: long strings of text boxes will be skipped when you talk to a character
    - Screen Timer: a timer will appear on each Screen; escape the Screen before time runs out or it's game over
    - Randomizer: lets you randomize where doors lead; the game's seasons, time of day, and weather; which Treasures you get; where you start at the beginning of the game; what your sprite is; what movements you make; and much more

    My to-do list:
    - finish work on the TBC
    - finish work on the Dungeons
