That's so cool to have time period specific balloons. Could you tell me what the runes mean?
The Futhark runes going down the sheet are G, T, TH, and D.
  2. @Candacis - You are very welcome Candacis.

@Saneterre - Actually, I think you can just add whatever balloon emotes to your balloon sheet similar to how people add to their icons and then you can select whichever one you want. Or maybe I'm wrong. I don't use balloon emotes often but I could have sworn we could do that.

@slimmmeiske2 - What do the runes mean? Um, I made those years ago but I remember looking up the meaning of the norse words, not their letter, and what they represented, and tried to match them to the original RTP's emotes. ATT_Turan mentioned their letters, but the meaning behind them was: Gebo = G= balance, exchange, relationships. That replaced the heart emote, I believe. Tiwaz = justice, battle, replaced the frustration emote. Wunjo = reward, success. I don't remember why I replaced the frustration emote with it. And Dagaz = awakening, illumination, completion, hope which replaced the lightbulb emote.

@Starbird_Resources - Don't sweat it. I have missed a load of everyone else's days too, and I have been feeling so guilty for it.

Advent: Day 12 ~ White Lady Ghost

    Ghosts.

Every culture around the world has tales of them, but what is quite striking is a similar trend around the world of the tale of the White Lady. These type of ghosts are always women, per their name, who died tragically and terribly. The stories usually center around a beautiful young woman who is about to be wed, or has just married. Sometimes the tales go that her lover was caught cheating, or a possessive father has slain the groom, sometimes the groom got cold feet who left the woman at the alter, or was a solider in war that never returned. The spin on the tale always results the same-- the young woman overcome with grief and taking her own life, only to rise as a vengeful ghost to terrorize the countryside with her eternal pain.

What stories can the community craft with this new enemy mob? Complete with 2 facesets, 4 walking sprites (floating and walking), Downs, and even a battler to represent the poor ghostly woman seeking the heroes plight, and the evil monster that she truly is. Will the hero seek to put this White Lady to rest, enact her vengeance on those she feels have wronged her, or end the menace that is terrorizing the living?

Seriously though this is right up my alley. Looks great!
  4. It's the eye variation which makes this a must have.
    Thank you.
  5. I'm actually terrified by the last picture of the emoset
  6. Thank you for thorough explanation of the runes!

Aah, your white lady is pretty scarily beautiful. :wub

Uh oh. She's already enthralled someone...
  8. @TRIDIUM - Thank you for the laugh. This is the second time in my life that I've had somebody throw that meme my way.

@TheAM-Dol - I feel there is an inside joke going on between Tridium and you. I don't know the contents of it but its still funny as all heck.

@Kes - Thank you. I have been wanting to try my hand at making ghost sprites for a long while now and was not sure of what approach to take. There is so many ways it can be done, the floaty tail bit, the glow around the body, etc. Avery was the one who suggested I try the grayscale palette and go from there. Had some difficulty trying to really capture a ghostly vibe and it was at the last moment that I added the creepy running mascara, as if she had been crying profusely before her death.

@Saneterre - My job is done then.

Advent: Day 13 ~ Giant Skulls...

Need I say more? Perhaps? Well...

Who can resist the classic charm of a skull-shaped cavern leading into a dungeon? Or the awe, mystery and terror of a fallen titan or slain god's skull invokes for worldbuilding elements. Today I have a collection of large skulls that can be used for those purposes. Where did the skull come from? Is it real or a fake? Is it carved out of solid rock? Or is it the remains of an evil god's head whose wicked soul still lingers about it?

Summon all your dungeon-building skills, gather the Cultists and all your monster mobs and have at it!

  9. Waaah it's ultra nice o.o
Did you make those skulls from scratch or did you use some kind of base?
  10. Initially I wasn't going to. I tried to free hand it but everything was coming out wrong. So I went and found a model on Sketchfab, which is a fantastic 3D model site. It was pretty easy to find a skull. Then, using the 3D model, rotate it around to the right angle I needed for MVs weird half top down view and go from there.
  11. Oh, really clever! I might try something like this as well next year! You are incredibly inspiring with your ressources :)
  12. I love creepy dungeon entrances, so thank you.
  13. Everytime I see a giant skull, I always think pirates, there be treasure there. Seriously amazing work on these ones.
  14. Quick note, at the start of this year's Advent, I had said I had about twelve days worth of material. As I am sure everyone has noticed by now, I have managed to get a few more days worth done over the course of this month.

Advent: Day 14 ~ Scuba Diver

Today's drop I am doing something of a soft reset and revisiting the theme earlier in the advent with dangerous exploration. This time around we are exploring deep waters rather than deep space with the Vintage Scuba Diver. It comes with four versions: Functional suit, Cracked helmet, shattered helmet with a skull for some creepier theme and an empty helmet. (What could possibly piloting the suit!?) Including with Down poses for each.

  15. I find myself a bit sad that I shall probably never find a way of incorporating a diver into one of my stories; this one is great and is fine for both male and female protagonists. Or maybe a sneaky enemy leaping out on you from behind the coral reef.
    Thank you.
  16. Love the vintage scuba diver. Seems like a good one for a horror game
  17. @Kes - Well, you could always have it as a enemy mob wandering some beaches. Or incorporate the Scuba Helmet from today's drop as a Quest Item, so the heroes can travel underwater to reach some distant shores. It would be an excuse to add a sunken water temple, underwater mobs, and the like.

@slimmmeiske2 - Not gonna lie, I am a huge fan of Subnautica. It has been my gateway game into other underwater games. I am so grateful for a lot of other underwater games that have come about because of it, including a new slew of underwater horror games. All that to say, doubling the Scuba Diver as an enemy mob in a horror game was absolutely my intention. XD

    ~~

Quick apology about yesterday's post if it seemed sudden and abrupt. I didn't actually finishing working on it before I hit send. It was family board game night and the family was starting to yell for me, wondering where I had snuck off too. I got flustered and posted as quickly as I could.

Advent: Day 15 ~ Scuba Diver Busts, Facesets and Icon

Continuing with our intrepid underwater explorer today I am dropping everything one needs to have a conversation with this new sprite from facests to busts, and as a bonus I have included a matching Vintage Scuba Diver helmet icon. Our heroes can't go exploring underwater if they don't have the proper key item icon to show they have the quest gear after all. The Facesets and busts include four unique emotes for the Functional Suit, the Cracked Helmet and two Face and Bust Graphics for the Skeleton in the Suit and the Empty Suit. (The skeleton face came from our beloved Skeleton Dancer).

  19. @Guardinthena just blown away by your Calendar this year... creative, beautifully executed, and fresh, new things that people are going to want in their games. great stuff! thank you for all the work and for sharing with the community :)
