  1. @Guardinthena I'm not sure how long this can be traced back, and maybe it's just modern stuff, but In Chinese culture region, people think a lady ghost dressed in red is the most powerful. Also, a lady who loses her live on her own accord in a red dress WILL turn into the strongest ghost. People really do that in real life. Of course, the ghost is never seen though.

    Just sharing.:rheh:
  2. Don't hate me. The left hand image on the last row: - reminded me of a load of laundry in a washing machine. I know it shouldn't, but ...
  3. Aaaaah I hoped so much you would do a faceset for the diver <3
Just a few weeks ago I struggled so hard to create a diving suit myself and was never really happy with the result, just for you to suddenly jump in now :D
Even though all the work is for naught, you really made me happy xD
  4. Sorry, I was out of town for a few days and wasn't able to check what everyone else has been posting. Super love all the Vintage Scuba Diver resources! Also, the Skull Entrances are extremely useful. Really great stuff all around. Loving your Advent Calendar!
  5. @TheAM-Dol - As someone who has played and absolutely adored Dave the Diver, your comment had me laughing hard.

@Starbird_Resources - Thank you so kindly! It was hard for me to think of things for the Advent this year, but once I started questioning what would be really useful for everyone all around, or what was missing for sprites, things started coming to me. It is so good to hear that all the hard work is really appreciated. Also, as someone who has played Subnautica, I understand completely that sense of dread when you look at the helmet glass cracking.

@cchmaster - I have never heard of that version of the Lady Ghost before but I am going to look it up now.

@Kes - Left hand of the last image....looks like laundry....what... OH MY GOSH! Everyone--LOOK AWAY!-- I did *not*, in fact, mess up on the Down poses on the Scuba Diver. (Psst-- thank you for pointing that out)

@coucassi - I had hoped you would love the Scuba Diver set. I had determined to do it months back, so when I saw your request in the resources thread I did that whole monkey side-eye meme.

@GalacticGod - Don't worry about it. I still need to find the time to get around to everyone's posts too. Things have been so hectic. So glad to hear that you loved the Vintage Scuba Diver set. It seems to be a popular piece. And I had hoped the Skull Entrances would be a fav too! It is nice to hear that you loved them too. <3

    ~~

Apologies everyone that my posts are always coming in later in the day. I actually do not have most of these resources finished and usually have to squeeze in the final touch ups throughout the day. Today's drop is the last of the resources I had mostly finished. I will continue with the Advent if I can in the following days.

Advent: Day 16 ~ Dancer Headgear Generator Piece

    Hahahah!
Thought we had seen the last of the Skeleton Dancer additions? Guess again! Why should Monster6 be the only Dancer in our RPG games? It doesn't seem quite fair - so I set out to correct that oversight by separating out her headpiece into its own generator accessory! That's right! Now your own sprites can wear the Dancer's headgear in the Generator for a new Dancer class or, perhaps, the hero claimed the headgear as a reward for slaying 100 Skeleton Dancers, or maybe they gained it as a quest reward for putting the Skeleton Dancer to rest. Whether you want to start creating your own Dancer class, fill out random NPC dancers, or have it gained as reward, the options are limitless!

Reminder! When adding new pieces into your Generator files, make sure that the p# is not overriding any preexisting pieces, or else it will erase those.

  6. It's so great that you made faces and busts for the scuba guy ! Thank you !
  7. New generator parts are always great!

I didn't know what to expect when I saw the thread title with "dancer headgear" - it's possible I was imagining the peacock-tail hats from cabaret dancers :kaoblush:
  8. MV generator piece in 2024?
Yes please, where do I sign up? :rwink:
  9. Time to turn Harold into a dancer :MV1:
  10. @Saneterre - You are very welcome. I had a lot of fun making them.

@ATT_Turan - XD I can see why you would have been confused. Honestly, flapper generator pieces sound like an amazing idea. Heck, even a sprite of one would be great.

    @Fortunastreet - Here, apparently. ;D

@slimmmeiske2 - Turn Harold into a cross-dressing dancer? --Your wish is my command.

Advent: Day 17 ~ Generator Dancer Clothes

Just going to jump straight into this very late drop -- Today I have the TV, TVD and Face graphics for the Dancer clothing to go with the hairpiece accessory. Now your sprites can really stand out as the newest Dancer class added to the team. What stories can be told? Is the new hero the sole survivor of her dance squad, seeking to avenge her fellow dancers deaths? Why not create a Dancer all in black and have her be a necromancer dancer who controls the dead via her unique powers? Or, perhaps something less dramatic. The ladies in the party want to go out on the town for an evening to unwind in their new dancer clothes. Or, per @slimmmeiske2's idea, we pull a Final Fantasy 7 and have Harold cross dress as a beautiful lady dancer to pull the wool over the eyes of the evil sultan and gain some valuable intel.

Today's drop does *not* feature the SV generator pieces for the dancer's clothes. I did not have enough time in the day to finish that.

Also, again, when adding new generator pieces into your files, make sure that the part numbers on the new graphics do not override any current files in the generator folder, or else those pieces will be lost. If a conflict happens, just renumber the Dancer Clothing files to a new number that will not erase any of your Generator's current files.

  11. It's nice to be able to do a dancer class !
  12. With the holidays around the corner I have been very busy, so apologies everyone but I am going to run and drop this in:

Advent: Day 18 ~ Male Androids

At last, we have the male counterpart to our female androids earlier this advent. Now even the fine female protagonists can have a strong, witty android to tag along on their adventures --or, you know, it could be an enemy mob. The choice is yours to decide.

    Android_wLights_Males.png
  13. something useful, I need to make them the tall version for my own game.
but it seems nicely to use as I got use of it :D
thank you for making it :D (as I might only use the top-left one.
  14. Confound stereotypes - have the bottom right (#8) as an ally and second top left (#2) as the foul enemy.
    Nicely done. Thank you.
  15. It's Mr. Android! Mrs. Android will be happy with that (hopefully). Clearly the next step is to have an Android Child ;)
  16. @ShadowDragon - You're welcome. Hopefully you can still get use out of them even though they are not tall. Machines can come in all shapes and sizes after all. :)

@Kes - LOL! Not gonna lie, I was thinking along the similar lines when making them. The white android with blue eyes just looks so cold. Reminds me of the crazy android from Alien/Prometheus.

@slimmmeiske2 - Of course! Android children! How could I have forgotten? The alien biomechanical species needs their children!

Advent: Day 19 ~ Red Lady Ghost

After dropping the White Lady Ghost earlier in the Advent, @cchmaster told a story of the (modern?) Chinese myth of the Red Lady, a frightening ghost who died while wearing a red dress, and rose as the powerful and terrifying Red Lady afterwards. I was intrigued and went ahead and created the Red Lady, complete with the faceset, walking, down and SV battler so you, community, can fill out your variant ghostly mobs.

  17. Aw, now she has a friend!
Seriously though, I'm itching to make a game with the RTP just because of those sprites.
  18. Wow, didn't expect the red lady ghost would show up. Nice job @Guardinthena.
Maybe It's just me, but the red lady ghost is kind of cute to me. hahaha

Normally in movies, a red lady ghost has black hair and bluish white skin, and wears bright red clothes, so it's eye catching.

In case you are interested in some reference.

White lady and red lady are super classic image in Asian horror movies. Really appreciate you make them appear in RM.

I can already think that the hero meets one ghost but actually there's a even worse nightmare lurking in the darkness. Or the ghosts are twins and the hero only sees one every time, and this is going to put him into great dange!

sample.png <- this would be my version, might need to adjust it's eyes as its the same size as
my main character, so it fit's nicely.

I can make it tiny shorter or child size in the same way, so they aren't to squashed.
I can do this with each character within seconds, but it does the job for me.

so thank you again for the little droids :D
  20. Advent: Day 20: Dryads

The first time I did the Christmas Advent, I converted the XP Wind Elemental over to MV. Last year, I converted over the XP Fire Elemental over to MP. This year...I've done a little something different. I am not a fan of the XP Earth Elemental. It's the hair. I have no idea what was going on with it. Maybe it was suppose to be bark hair? I don't know. So this year I took the liberty to do an Earth Elemental the way I envision them --as a Dryad. For those that do not know what a Dryad is, it is a type of fey creature that lives within trees. Sometimes they are portrayed as beautiful women, sometimes with leafy hair and bark skin. I went with the latter approach when creating the set of Dryad ladies below. They have leafy hair, bark skin, and vines wrapping around their bodies. The idea was to capture the seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, however I am not so sure what the guidelines on the thread say about posting a naked tree lady...so I held off on the Winter Dryad. Instead, I recolored her with red leaf hair, red vines, and white bark skin. (The inspiration for that color palette comes from Pokemon of all things, particularly Shiny Phantump.) As always, the ladies come with their walking and down sprites.

She would be a great mob to use in forests areas, or perhaps a kindly npc who offers the players assistance and wisdom to find the world tree. She would probably be great to pair up in @Avery's Tree Dungeon from a previous Advent.
