I was thinking like purple-red-pink-ish. Maybe swamp green.
Really loving the icons, in particular the skull is super well done. :D

Beautiful skeleton icons. Looks like they can be used by alchemists or necromancers, maybe also monster hunters?
I think limbs are missing right now. Maybe they are taken by someone to use as weapons.
-
Love all the different bone body icons. They came out great!
-
Logically there would be different blues, so a darker one. Then there's a distinct greenish tinge, both emerald-like and slightly acidic. Would one that veered more towards yellow work? What kind of water colors were you thinking of for the Grand Prismatic Spring Autotile?
Great idea for the bones. The standard skeleton just doesn't cut it in many situations. -
I love everythin you added since my last comment three days ago, but let me tell you something, I use the windmill from Pandamaru in the main village of my game, and I hadn't made the interior yet, so I can tell you I'm so happy that you made it. I really love it, it's just perfect.
-
@SeaPhoenix - Hahah! Never heard skulls called cute before but I'll take it. X) The skull icon is based off of the one in the RTP.
@slimmmeiske2 - I have been concerned about the quality of the icons so thank you for the reassurance.
@cchmaster - Oh! Great point. I hadn't even considered them to be use as spell requirements for necromancers or alchemists. Absolutely they could be. And oh my, what anime is that image from?
@GalacticGod - Thank you kindly! I was wondering if what I did was enough or overkill. It's good to know that the variety of bone icons is appreciated.
@Kes - What exactly do you mean by the 'standard skeleton'?
@Saneterre - I am very glad to read that the windmill interior is so greatly loved and appreciated. <3
Advent: Day 10 ~ Western Imp Variant
The Amazing @Avery has been dropping a lot of angelic do-gooders this Advent here and here and here, so how about I balance that out with a bit of mischief? Namely, by unleashing the little miscreant --the Western Imp! Those angels are going to have their hands full trying to fix all the Christmas chaos this trickster is about to pull.
As an aside, although MV's RTP Monster5 Imp was good, it wasn't what an Imp was to me, this based off of western ideas. I could not find where anyone else had ever edited Monster5 to reflect the little westernized trickster as I had seen in so many cartoons and movies growing up, so I took liberties into my own hands. Firstly, I changed the color of Monster5, gave him a second horn, and adjusted his eye and wing color to pop against that red skin. I could not decide between gold or black eyes, or blue or purple wings, so the community is getting both variants of the Gold-Eyed Blue-Winged Imp and the Black-Eyed Purple-Winged Imp (Yu-Gi-Oh fans will get that joke).
I hope everyone enjoys this new Imp Variant, complete with battlers, faceset, Walking and Down poses for all your battling needs.

Okay, that is definitely sort of freaky... I hate to admit this, but he's also kinda cute.
-
@Guardinthena - It's called "Karakuri Circus", originally manga, a stroy about inhuman living puppets and the poeple who fight them with puppets. A lot happened in the story, but eventually the story leads to one origin. Don't want to say too much, in case you want to see it.
BTW, the weapon limb is not actually bones. It's the limb from the other battle puppet. They would meet each other in the story.:LZYcheeze: -
The one that's on the ground - some hero or other that never made it back out of the dungeon. Not only does that lack variety, but it isn't useful in suggesting that other beings might have come unstuck as well. What exactly do you mean by the 'standard skeleton'?
-
Great imp !
-
Well, he's looking devilish good :D
-
Great amount of detail is the imp sprite. It amazes me what people can do with such small works of art.
-
@LunarFlareStudios - Working on devilish sprites, even as edits, always leaves me feeling weird about it, even though I have needs to fill out enemy mob factions. So I understand your sentiment on the freaky part. I can't take credit for the creation of the sprite, or its cuteness, it is an MV RTP recolor with the addition of a second horn.
@cchmaster - That sounds like a wild anime. Puppet battles? I might have to check it out.
@Kes - Oooh! I know exactly what you mean. And I agree. Having one sprite like the basic skeleton bones drives me nuts when/if I have the need to map. Variety is so key to creating realistic maps and having just one thing to use, in this case the skeleton bones, breaks immersion. At least for me it does.
@Saneterre - Thank you!
@slimmmeiske2 - Isn't he? :LZYcool:
@Ms Littlefish - I often have the same sentiments when I see other peoples sprite work too. Especially with a lot of retro pixel games that have been coming out in the last decade or so. I have been floored at the pixel detail that we can do today that couldn't be done, say, in the 90s.
Advent: Day 11 ~ Norse Balloon Animations
Another late drop today. Apologies everyone. I'm just going to jump right into it--
For years, I have often seen people complaining or making requests for different kinds of balloon animations. Recently, it was brought up again. And, as it turns out, I had tried my hand at making some Norse-style Balloon Animations ages ago. They have sat collecting digital dust in my folders of forgotten goodies all this time, until the aforementioned recent conversation I had with some content creators jarred my memory. Hopefully the community can find great use for these Balloon Animations. Perhaps your games need a weathered balloon vibe, the aged parchment of these balloon animations will certainly do. Or your game has a Viking or Nordic-flaire to it, these definitely will have you covered.
-
There are way too little balloon styles around, so thank you for that! They look great
-
Love the style of these balloon animations!
-
Wonderful to have a variation on the balloon style. Thank you.
-
@Guardinthena as always your ressources make my game feel more complete! The mill is superb and the imps are really nice!
-
Good job on the Balloons. I'm not sure we can change them midgame, but if it's possible, I can imagine some viking characters using those.
-
That's so cool to have time period specific balloons. Could you tell me what the runes mean?
-
i've missed the last couple days and it's been a real treat catching up! great stuff @Guardinthena !!
