There are honestly so many stories that could be told with this character. Love it~
-
Love the idea! A skeleton dancer, and how she looked before she was a skeleton... what sort of stories could I possibly make up with such a concept? If only I had a good place for such a character...
-
@Saneterre - I really enjoy having all the options available for the sprites too, in case my imagination runs wild. So glad to read that you appreciate it as much as me.
@slimmmeiske2 - I know right? She is adorable, bones and all. I think I have a special place in my heart for her, because of how much she reminds me of Skelly from the Final Fantasy game Chrono Cross. Played it as a teen, and I was just so amazed that I had to collect the bones of this talking skull to gain a party member. I guess I wish the same attention paid to the Skeleton Dancer.
@coucassi - Why thank you. Glad to read that you are enjoying my little Advent. I was rather partial to the Android when I was making her.
@Ms Littlefish - Thank you! And I know! I am honestly giddy at the prospect of what kind of stories the community comes up with for her. I would love to play a few games with her as a quest option.
@LunarFlareStudios - I am eager myself to see what sort of stories the community comes up with for her and how she ends up getting used now.
Advent: Day 6 ~ 3 Skeleton SV Templates!
Funny story about the Skeleton Dancer SV Battler... I had originally intended to just make a basic Skeleton SV battler template. At the time, I could not find one and thought it would be a lovely addition so that the community could play dress up and we could have...undead pirates for example on the ever lovely Ghost pirate ship vacation level spot that everyone adores visiting. Or, you know, whatever else anyone can think of that they would need a skeleton SV template for. So, I set to work...and was deep in the process of it when I couldn't shake the feeling that I must have seen a Skeleton template before. Funny part was--I had. And there was one. Not just one, but two other community members have already made it. As I said, I was too deep in at that point and had to do something, and luckily discovered that the community was missing Monster6's SV battler. So it wasn't a total loss. And, at the end of it all I thought, what the heck, the community doesn't have dusty fossilized Skeleton bones for a template yet-- which leads into today's drop.
I have not just one, but three SV battlers for Skeleton templates: the Ancient Fossilized Skeleton SV battler was what I initially started with, drawing the color palette off of the dinosaur bones in the RTP so that they would match.
Following that, was a recolor to match Monster6's bone color. Aaaaaannnnnd...that's where the second part of the funny story begins. Somehow, I have never noticed that the male and female battlers were different. I blame this on my lack of experience in making SV battlers. So, I had to edit the Skeleton template again to get the female base. Which brings it up to three.
I really hope someone out there will find these useful. Or that someone really wanted different Skeleton battlers to showcase difference enemy mobs. In any case, happy RPGing.

Ooh templates! Time to make skelly versions of Harold and party
You did amazing work on these -
Templates are always such a boon. Time to kill off and revive the whole party with the big bad's necromantic skills and then watch them as they rebel against the control.
Thank you. -
I love seeing all the SV Battlers. The skeleton ones can be used to help create so many other battlers as well. Love all the different variations. Great stuff for the community!
-
I like having templates, I always download them for the day I come to know how to use them. But I have to say that day still hasn't come :LZYhuh:
-
@slimmmeiske2 - Oh... I had never considered turning the hero party undead. Certainly it can now be done!
@Kes - This is now the second comment I've seen about killing off the hero party and reviving them. I was not aware this was a popular trend. XD
@GalacticGod - Exactly what I was thinking. A skeleton battler really can be used in so many inventive ways.
@Saneterre - Oh, if you are having trouble you could always open up a thread. In my own experience, I use my photoshop program and open the files from the generator and start layering them over the templates.
Advent: Day 7 - Windmill Interior
There are many wonderful and amazing creators in the RPG maker community who put out incredible content for everyone to use. One of the many well beloved assets within this community has to be PandaMaru's Windmill. It is an incredible piece that I love to use in my own games. It just lends that extra charm to any countryside map. As much as I love it, I have always been a bit disappointed that I could never explore the inside of it. I know, I know, some game creator advice pushes not to bog your games down with unnecessary areas, but man do I love to explore.
So for today's Advent, I wanted to pay a bit of homage back to PandaMaru's Windmill with an interior that I stitched together. With a careful eye, I tracked down the same wall tiles that PandaMaru used to create the Windmill and used them to replicate the interior and the outside walls. That was the easy part. Actually finding videos, photos, and images of older windmills was a whole other matter and, at times, confusing. (What does a windmill need all those gears for?!) Eventually, I found a simplified interior design that I went with.
I've provided a decorated interior for those that just want to jump in right away and, of course, an empty Windmill Interior with some of graphic assets I edited together for those that enjoy designing their own maps.
-
The windmill interior is a great idea! It looks really nice.
-
Great work! Like you I enjoy exploring so to have these assets is a big plus.
Thank you. -
The windmill interior looks great! Perfect for any farming type game as well :D
-
@SeaPhoenix - Thank you. I had hoped the community would appreciate it.
@Kes - Glad to hear from another RPG explorer! :D Maybe now there can be quests that have us liberating the Windmill from baddies? Or there is a collectable that we can obtain by exploring inside.
@slimmmeiske2 - Believe it or not, I hadn't even considered a farming sim! XD But absolutely it can be used for that too, for collecting flour, obviously. Or whatever else the heroes have to crush I suppose. That would be quite neat.
Advent: Day 8 ~ Grand Prismatic Spring Autotile
Does anyone what to travel someplace warmer this season? How about someplace tropical? Better yet, someplace with a beautiful hot spring feature? --I have you covered with the new Grand Prismatic Spring Autotile, designed after, you guessed it, the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park in the United States. For those that are not aware, it is the third largest hot spring in the world and gets its striking colors from microbial mats that exists around the edges of the super heated water. With this autotile, now the community can design new locations with striking water visuals, create new volcanic spots where dragons or other baddies have set up their headquarters or just a relaxing scenic view for the heroes to enjoy. Perhaps even pair it with How Hau's Hot Springs for a nice rest and relaxing spa spot for our heroes.

Wow, it looks so good. I think it would be cool to have some recolours (of the water), so we can use it for some alien biomes. :D
Neither had I, until I started playing Fields of Mistria. But yeah, you can enter the windmill there to mill all sorts of things.Believe it or not, I hadn't even considered a farming sim! XD -
The Windmill interior is so helpful. I can't wait to add it to my game. Thank so much for creating and sharing it with the community!
-
So cool. Now Harold can be attacked by a necromancer and turned into a skeleton hero! And maybe protect the world from evils ETERNALLY!:rheh:Advent: Day 6 ~ 3 Skeleton SV Templates!
Just asking, is it possible that we can have MZ version of the skeletons? Many of my action sequences reply on MZ motions, so all my playable party members are in MZ style. Just asking.
Besides, I have one question. Where should I put these two gears?
I dont' have any knowledge of windmills.
-
Did that as a major sidequest in one of my projects. I had PandaMaru's external tiles (VXAce) but had to create the interior from scratch, which was a pain. But with a preset to help me on my way, this is something I can consider again.Maybe now there can be quests that have us liberating the Windmill from baddies?
Love the hot springs. Extremely useful. I'm with Slimmmeiske2 - a couple of water recolours would be a great addition, though tbh, it's not so difficult to do oneself, and I wouldn't want you overburdened with our additional requests. What you already do is generosity itself. -
The windmill is such a cool idea :kaojoy: Thank you for the work!
-
@slimmmeiske2 - What sorts of alien water colors were you thinking of? I haven't heard of Fields of Mistria, I am going to have to look that one up.
@GalacticGod - You are very welcome! I was happy to share it with everyone.
@cchmaster - Lol, I have heard so many people mention about an undead party by now. I had no idea it was a thing. XD As for converting it over to MZ, I am afraid I cannot do that. I do not own MZ, but I have heard that the sprites are the same size. I am not sure about the SV battlers. I do know that another content creator on the forums has already made a skeleton SV battler. I do not believe he has made one for male and female though. And as for the gears, they don't go anywhere actually. I added those for people who wanted to do more research into windmills and maybe build something more elaborate. So unless you plan to custom create, their pretty useless.
@Kes - Glad I could be of assistance with your game. X) What kind of water colors were you thinking of for the Grand Prismatic Spring Autotile?
Advent: Day 9 ~ Skeleton Icons
Thought I was finished with Monster6 Skeleton Dancer? Think again! There was so much potential with just that one character. How can we possibility set out to rebuild the Skeleton Dancer if we don't have icons for her bones? Well, look no further-- For today's drop I have a total of 20 icons to use in your games as you need. Fossilized Bones, Clean Bones, and variants of those bones with the Skeleton Dancer's jewelry and sash, so we know we are collecting the right set of bones to rebuild our beautiful dancer. Of course, these bone icons can be used for so many other things too: archelogy, murder mystery, medical student's classroom or a necromancer's disturbing lair, or as just junk icons for those RPG hoarders out there. The bone icons are as followed: skull, scapula, backbone, ribcage, pelvic, mixed bone pile.
-
The icons are great! I think the skull ones look pretty cute despite being skulls.
