  1. So cute! Now we just need a smilodon and a giant sloth!

    For...reasons...
  2. Love the elephants and woolly mammoths! There's so much attention to detail in your sprites.
  3. The mammoths are so great! The fur texture you ended up with is awesome, I want to just curl up next to one of those fuzzy beast. :kaoluv:
  4. I don't have the raw courage of @hiddenone to snuggle up to one of these beasts, but I wouldn't mind having them safely on my hard drive.
Great work on getting so much texture into such a small image.
  5. Ah, I missed so many amazing things :D
I love the intellect devoures and the return of Mr. teacup was totally unexpected!
And elephant and mammots? You spoil us here!
  6. @ATT_Turan - Would those reasons be...for an 'Ice Age' easter egg? :D

@SeaPhoenix - Thank you kindly. I tried very hard to get them just right. I went so far as to watch an elephant cycle walk on YT to mimic its walk motion.

@hiddenone - Thank you. Making the mammoth was a learning experience for sure, didn't know how to texture fur until now! He does look exceptionally warm doesn't he? I would probably snuggle up next to one too if he was friendly. :)

@Kes - Your caution is understandable! I wouldn't get too near unless I was certain it was a friendly mammoth, well trained and behaved, although I would settle for it being safely on my hard drive as a second best too. ;) And thank you, learning to texture fur was a whole new experience for me and one I was determined to get right.

@coucassi - Hello and welcome back! So many amazing things indeed, and the Advent hasn't reached halfway yet! ;)

ADVENT: DAY 8 ~~ FEMALE VIKING HAIRSTYLE

Ever wanted a hairstyle for your brave, courageous female characters that encapsulates their strength and determination? Well, look no further! Inspired by Lagertha from the hit T.V. series 'Vikings', this hairstyle has become a sensation across media over the years. Whether you are creating a sword wielding barbarian shieldmaiden, a fiery Mother of Dragons, a punk sci-fi fighter, or a noble female dwarf, I think this hairstyle will call too you, no matter your muse.

Examples of the hairstyle in use:

  7. the viking hair is absolutely gorgeous, holy heck!! the braids, the curls, mesmerising (。♡‿♡。)
  8. Thank you for the elephant/mamooth sprites! This is SO AWESOME!
  9. This hair is brilliant. So much work must have gone into it, for which I am grateful. I was commenting on another thread about the need for more hair variations and you have added to the stock in style!
  10. That hair is gorgeous. The texture on the braids! And I really appreciate you including the SV art so it's usable by everyone.
  11. I've always found creating hair to be the toughest part about sprite work. The hair you created looks fantastic. Great job!

ADVENT: DAY 8 ~~ FEMALE VIKING HAIRSTYLE

    EVERYTHING TO LOVE HERE, :kaoluv:
Okay, I had to breathe for a second. I own a few Viking hair books for wrangling tresses, and these are phenomenal.:kaophew: This is making me want to hunt down all the hairstyles to hoard. Now I'll have to go search for victory rolls. :kaopride:
  13. That hair turned out amazing, you did such a good job! Being able to recolor the braids makes it even more versatile, a modern sprite could be rocking it with dyed braids!
  14. I want to start off by saying that I am blown away by how much everyone loved the Female Viking Hairstyle and took the time to comment. It means a lot. The Face had been made years ago and just sat around in a folder collecting dust because I felt it wasn't up to par. This year I took it out and showed it around to a few people and was told it was, in fact, very good. I was still apprehensive about posting it, but am very glad I did. Thank you everyone! <3

With the new Hairstyle from yesterday donned and other rough characters gathered, let our journey continue abroad aboard...

    ADVENT: DAY 9 ~~ VIKING SHIP ADD-ON!

In search of that perfect Viking ship for your adventures? Yeah, I have been too--so I made one! Well, kind of. I dug into an older folder and found an old WIP piece where I had been modifying the ship tileset from KTool's MV Special Resource Page to craft a recognizable Viking-style ship. To do this, the sails were recolored, a long bench added, shields were frankenstiened from the portholes and dressed up in decorative colors, a rounded front was added to the prow, and oars and the decorative dragon head and tail was made from scratch. With the size of the ship, it could easily function as the larger merchant/trading vessel, or whatever creative idea comes to mind.
The tilesets were provided as are so that it would be a simple matter of copy and pasting over the preexisting tilesets provided from KTool. From there, to get the pointed prow at the back, simply copy all of A5 and mirror it, then use it as a Tile D. I hope that helps. :)

  15. This is stunning work. Even without your descripion of what you did, it would be obvious that this needed a lot of time and effort to come out to the high standard that it has.

    Thank you.
  16. Blown away. Speechless.
  17. That ship is incredible, I love those carved details in the dragon head and along the edge of the ship!
  18. That's beautiful. I can guess from that and the last hairdo where your mind has been
  19. I love the viking themed days!
The hair is wonderful and the ship rules!
  20. As someone who is deeply into old Norse culture, I really appreciate the hair and the ship addons! I love your creations/edits!!! :kaoluv:
