I agree about Call of Duty, and it's also ugly, dumb, boring and always the same.
Now the fanboys will probably hit me with all they got, but I personally don't care. :D
Games you hate, yet everyone else cherishes.

I would consider myself a pretty big Mario Kart fan, but I really didn't enjoy Mario Kart 64 at all. The Rubber Band AI was extremely frustrating for me, and I just didn't really click with that game. For those who don't know, the Rubber Band effect is when the computer racers are coded to catch up to you no matter how far behind they get, even if it means exceeding normal top speeds and things like that. It can be implemented properly, but I feel that MK64 went way overboard with it.

Oh, man, how brave. Saying you hate Call of Duty on a RPG Maker website...
(Seriously, you haven't realized that like, 90% of RPG fans seem to be elitist about how ty they think FPS games are because they don't involve all that "thinking" and "deep deep story" that RPGs do?) -
I hate RPGs, they are so lame. Require WAY too much thinking.
And that story crap... my gawd.
:guffaw: -
I can understand why some people hate Halo despite it being one of my favorite shooter franchises. Halo, itself, is still riding on its own coattails and it's become frustrating. The first Halo, in my opinion, was an absolute masterpiece in gameplay and storytelling. Yes, it had its issues, but I felt that things like the absolutely wonderful story and engaging combat kind of overshadowed the negative. My only issue with the first game? The level "The Library". Screw that level.
The original game was the company catching Lightning In A Bottle. The games onward from that were lackluster because of the success of the first. The storyline in the second game was barely there and the level design was even worse than The Library level from the original. Enemies even got boring to fight. It also didn't help that while there was enough cover in Halo 1 to be able to win a fight by attrition if you faced overwhelming odds while in Halo 2 cover was largely nonexistent in similar fights.
The third game (Halo 3) had a very boring storyline that could've been used better or made far more interesting. I felt like we spent too much time on the Flood threat and not enough on the war between the Humans and Covenant, as well as the newly defected Sangheili.
Then we got ODST which started out strong (The intro where you're dropping into the atmosphere with your drop pod, was amazing and is still something I love watching) and gradually lost steam as you played it. It was only compounded with the "Play Firefight Mode during campaign" nonsense. The game honestly might have been far more interesting if they'd left us more of the city to explore or made it more "open world" than it was. But, just like Halo 2, we were missing a LOT of cover from the battlefield in many places.
Halo 4 was a bit better than the last three games. I was at least engaged and interested by the story we were presented (though I honestly cared more about the Cortana thing than I did about the big bad trying to destroy humanity for no actual reason) in the game. The multiplayer of said game suffered somewhat by having some fairly unimaginative maps and not enough interesting unlocks. On top of which, the new enemy we were introduced to is basically just "robotic flood". That is, they're somewhat uber-powerful but have little reaction to gunfire unless their shields pop, which they run away. They're bullet sponges, which makes them kind of boring to shoot.
Here's hoping Halo 5 continues down the track of 4 and becomes better. If it starts sliding backwards to Halo 2, I might not even pick it up. -

I was referring to the fanboys that will possibly register here just to insult the haters of their game...trust me, COD fanboys can behave like this...or even worse, a lot of them are rather childish. -
A game I hate, but people seem to love would be Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I just couldn't stand the horrible combat mechanics. That, and a few other factors as well.

I wouldn't say that I hate Skyrim, but I really hate it's poor quest design sometimes.
Hey I just met you and this is crazy
but here's my family memento and give it to my brother who lives on the opposite end of this continent  -
I totally agree with you. The A.I. totally annoyed me. You could never get a good lead.I would consider myself a pretty big Mario Kart fan, but I really didn't enjoy Mario Kart 64 at all. I really dislike MK64 because of the framerate; it's sub 30, and gives me headaches. But as a kid, when it first came out, I absolutely loved it to bits. Nostalgia-glasses does not help it today, though.

Dragon Quest.
I have never played DQ, but I hate even a thought about this one! Yep. I know about this game, I have read some articles about this series and I saw that graphic... it's horrible graphic.. and what is funny - the game is not an horror rpg, it is classic rpg! I know, DQ has incredibly high sales in US and other countries, but what about my taste, I hate this UGLY GAME!!.. yep -

Forget deep stories; personally, I've never been a fan of playing a maniac with a bunch of guns running around shooting people. The genre just does not appeal to me.Oh, man, how brave. Saying you hate Call of Duty on a RPG Maker website...

Yeah, its always better when you are a maniac running around killing people with swords...Forget deep stories; personally, I've never been a fan of playing a maniac with a bunch of guns running around shooting people. The genre just does not appeal to me.
(Also, I think that is a hilariously uncharitable view of Military FPS games, and I don't even like the genre.) -
There is only one game that I wish to make it erased from the time-line itself, Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels.
It's beyond me why that FF XIII-2 got 40/40 from famitsu... -
Final Fantasy 13 has potential to be a good game. The problem is, the devs were so stupid, they didn't use that potential. Don't get me wrong, I hate the crap out of FF13, but I do realize where the "good points" in the game are. They should've gotten rid of the "Hallways" aspect much earlier in the game. They should've made the Crysterium more like the Sphere Grid (which was linear as crap, but there were options after a certain point... it at least gave a good illusion of choice). They should have made combat less about "choosing which jobs you use" and a bit more about "which strategies you employ". Likewise, the story was confusing and crazy and crap with too much of it tucked into the Datalogs.
Beyond those things that could've used minor tweaks (or even major overhauls), it could have been really good. I found the setting interesting, the weapons interesting to look at, combat somewhat exciting (until you realize all you're doing is changing jobs and mashing attack), and the backstory on the setting fun to learn about. -
DoTA2 and League of Legends. Granted I wasted a noticeable part of my life playing the latter due to peer pressure from friends but thank goodness I managed to uninstall it for good at some point. I've since developed a general dislike for the kind of game in which you're expected to submit to "the meta" in order to not get flamed by the rest of your team just because you're not trying to mimic something pros get paid for in games that are unwarrantedly popular.

SMT in general, I really don't like. But it's a cumulative thing from playing several of the games in the series. Often it's the result of the final dungeon being too difficult or the ending sucking or both. Especially the case with Persona 3, where both of my attempts at the final boss ended in stupid RNG disaster, and Devil Survivor 2, where I got to Yamato and his stupid OP broken team basically meant he could easily recover from near-death to full HP and MP in a single swoop.
Strange Journey's neutral ending was boring and predictable and the game utterly failed to make Arthur a compelling character at all.
I skipped Persona 4 because of my experience with Persona 3 and skipped SMT IV because of my experience with Strange Journey. I love the demons and designs and find them really creative but either the game is marred by infuriating characters or eventually ramping the difficulty up so high that every battle takes 30 minutes. -
P4 is a bit easier than P3, helped by not having to rely on your other characters picking the right options every time.
I will say though that while I don't HATE it, I have a lot of frustrations with some of the design decisions made in Nocturne. The encounter rate combined with the lack of any safe areas combined with how long individual battles took if you wanted to do them efficiently made that game such a horrendous slog. -
It is, I dropped Persona3 too because of its bad kind of difficulty, but I really enjoyed the 4.
You can control other characters (yay actual strategy and not grinding and hoping!), there's a mechanic that helps preventing the "enemy targets MC with a death spell/powerful attack, game over even if you did nothing wrong" problem and being hit in your weaknesses is less terrible (in P3 you actually lose two turns, in most cases!).
