This thread is meant for showing off screenshots or maps made for your project, and to comment on or give advice to other members. Screenshots of any Maker is welcome. No other game engines are allowed.

In-game screenshots and maps only, please. If you're looking for feedback on your logo/sprites/faces etc. then please post in the WIP thread.

Please read and abide by these rules before posting and or commenting:

    1. In-game screenshots, maps and videos of gameplay are all welcome. Trailers are also welcome. Walkthroughs and Let's Plays are not. They go here.
    2. Please place your image in spoiler tags if it's any larger than 500x500. Ditto if you're posting a lot of images.
    3. Do not quote screenshots, maps or videos in this thread. If you want to comment on someone's screenshot, please refer to them by their name (@membername), or keep the image in spoiler tags.
    4. Please be civil and constructive when handing out feedback. Do not post things such as 'this sucks!'. Point out why a map doesn't look so good, and what they can do to improve it. If you want to compliment someone, point out what you think they did well.
    5. Please refrain from re-posting your work, unless you've made some edits on it since the last time you posted it. If no one has commented on your work, and it has fallen behind by at least 2 pages, feel free to repost it then. You can re-post your screenshot if you posted in the last several pages of the previous thread.
    6. Feel free to ask what tileset someone is using if you're interested, but keep off-topic chatter to a minimum.
  2. I need quick feedback from anyone who isn't me on which one of these sprites fit better/how I could improve them to make them fit/any general tips

    First one:

    Second one:

  3. The second one almost looks better, but it looks like it's been stretched out vertically a bit, to the point where he's taller than the door. If #2 was made a bit shorter (maybe about the same height as #1) without making the sprite wider, it'd look great in my opinion.
  4. Merging. We have a Game & Map Screenshots thread where you can ask for feedback on aspects of your mapping.

Ooh - a brand spanking new one at that, and yours is the first screenshot. Congratulations :)
  5. Here's a screenshot from the game that I haven't announced anything about yet. XD Still in very early stages so there's no rush, I guess:

My second parallexed map. I still prefer editor mapping, of course, but parallax is giving the look I was aiming for. :<

Thank you for the feedback, I did make it taller vertically because it looked better that way, the original was way too small. I think it's more of a case of the door being to small. I'll fix both of them :p

@nile love the moon + clouds and the tint, looks really nice
  7. @Miss Nile

that's a nice looking map - but did you need to parallax the whole thing?  Looking at it, you could have done it in the editor and just had the moon and sky as a parallax background which would have been quicker for you.
  8. Ahh the cliffs are done in the editor actually-but there's a lower part full of trees that can be only parallaxed. XD Here's the whole map:

Ah, that explains it!!  I couldn't see why those cliffs could not be done in the editor, and it seems like I was right.  If you've saved it in layers, I think it would look better if you blurred the edges of the path - at the moment they are far too sharp and regular.
  10. Here's a screen of my project: 1926 - Metropolis, thermal terminal.

  11. I like the mix of parallax and editor mapping. Saves me a boatload of time  :)

  13. @dayhjawk

Hmm, maybe add in some more details and break up the color a bit?
  14. @Quiet: FYI there's already a Firefly Games studio! Lovely map though.

    @Nile: Gaaaah it was inevitable xD I need to commission busts after BR HD ;-;

    Love the moon.
  15. @Hotfirelegend

Aw, of course there is  :stare:

    Also, thanks!  :D
  16. Awesome maps...

Been trying to see if I could use front-view battlers in a tileset made battleback, what do you think?

  17. @RocketKnight:  Your forward facing stairs are completely unbelievable.  They go up two stories and take up less depth than a sidewalk.  Even for a ladder that'd be steep!  Zig zagged ladders would make way more sense there.

@Engr. Adiktuzmiko:  The concept is probably fine but the execution isn't working.  I think you need to get rid of the edges and map the objects with hight separately so they don't get all smooshed with the ground.
  18. @Miss Nile : I like the cliffs and the background image! Did you draw that?
  19. Miss Nile - So pretty! One teeny weeny thing I see is that it looks like the second sprite (blue hair?) under the ladder might be standing on a tree top? But nice work!

Rocketknight - Not bad, I'm just a little unsure what all is going on. It looks like it's several floors, but something about the perspective is off on a lot of it. Like, are those stairs supposed to access those floors? If so, I'd put little landings. Also, maybe some shadowing underneath each level to give them some depth?

QuietDreams - Looks nice! Not so sure about the very square pond at the bottom, but maybe it looks different in full?

dayhjawk - I like the style of your tiles, but the map seems really big and empty.

    @Engr. - I agree with Sharm.

Okay, decided to make a downstairs to this. (Yes, went back and added stairs to that one, lol.)

I feel like I need to do something with these maps. :p
