@Lomaxient power lines, very nice!:kaoluv: Is it a horror game? 'Cuz vibes are definitely that children are bein' tortured in cellars here! Oh, and I don't mean to sound unreasonable, but cud you consider putting in another set of stairs up to the church? Just to save old people's legs!

Oh no, that wasn't the vibe I was going for at all . This is the cosy shire village. It's just a bit dingy. The power lines are an important, story related addition. As for additional steps... No, I am a cruel god!! :stickytongue:@Lomaxient power lines, very nice!:kaoluv: Is it a horror game? 'Cuz vibes are definitely that children are bein' tortured in cellars here! I think that's actually great, sweetie! :wub Contradicting vibes are what makes me tick, so if the peaceful village has some creepy vibes, that just makes it more interesting! I mean, how boring would it be if the Fire Village was always in the desert and lit by burning braziers, and the Elven Village was always in the middle of the greenest forest, and the Village of Evil was chock full of spiky towers? Power to the slightly creepy cosy villages!Oh no, that wasn't the vibe I was going for at all .

It's all very time consuming. I'm just dipping my toe into making caves. There's always little custom tiles that need to get created. In this case, wall tops, stairs and entrances. My project is frighteningly disorganized.
Oh and there will be a waterfall in the big hole, but I've not gotten to that yet.Cave -
@Lomaxient it's a really cute li'l map!:kaoluv: I wud probably try 'n round off the upper left corner, like you did wid the upper right corner? Real caves have curves, after all

A mini game that can be played from my main game.

Took me a bit to be able to focus on what you'd be controlling there.A mini game that can be played from my main game.
Could benefit from a bright outline or a chunkier ship. There's some visual reasons why it's usually a loose triangle shape for ships. -
It's because planes in the screenshot are not moving. In the actual game, when everything is moving, we can see them much easier.Took me a bit to be able to focus on what you'd be controlling there.

All day I've been freaking out over a plug-in called Hud Maker Ultra. There's a free and a paid version. It is no longer supported, (so use at your own risk and all that boring jazz).
Link to Hud Maker Ultra Free
It's made by some random dude called "SumRndDde". OMG! I can't believe that, this plug-in just got cooler! I'm gonna put him in my game and give him a back story. What a champ!
I bet a bunch of you will know about this plug-in already, but I'm new and today has just been a dream. To be real with you, working in RMMZ has been unpleasant. Without getting too negative about the myriad of issues I have with the base program, I'll just say this plug-in has been a breath of fresh air.
It feels so nice to get into a creative frenzy. MASSIVE props to SumRndDde. I've had so much fun with this today.
Anyhoo, here's my new battle hud! Still working on the details, but so chuffed with what I've got.
Hope you like!

@GlaireDaggers tileset looks nice! :kaoluv: The blue glow is some kinda overlay and/or lighting effects?
-
@GlaireDaggers There is something about the pipe on the left side which makes it look like it's horizontal, rather than rising vertically. Mostly it's the way you've done the junction with the overhead (compare the pipe next to it) but there might also be something about the shadows/highlights. Not sure about that. It's difficult for me to say because my eye is so distracted by that junction.
EDIT
It might also be because the horizontal section of that pipe is not resting on the floor - again compare with the pipe next to it. -
Hope you like this.

I'm fairly sure it's meant to be horizontal. Though those hard shadows do make it look a bit weird, like it's resting on the ground instead of hanging high above.makes it look like it's horizontal, rather than rising verticall

Not sure which hard shadows you're referring to? -
Ah, looking closer at it, I can now see that the rings around the pipe just get very dark around the edges - those looked like pipe's shadows to me at first glance. Not sure which hard shadows you're referring to?
I think that adding a lower shadow might help it look less confusing. The bridge does have a shadow below it, helping to convey that it's above the water - a similar shadow below that pipe would probably help. -
I'll definitely have to experiment with that - the shadow pen wasn't working super well for the pipes, so maybe I should add some specific shadow tiles for this...
EDIT: nah, I give up. There's probably some way to get this working, but the tile passage rules are getting really screwy and broken now & I'm probably just better off finding a less ambiguous way to arrange the pipes. -
