  1. @Kes, thanks for pointing it out. Actually, I forgot to check the shadow. I read another your post about shadowing and fix the problems. Thank you so much!

I use Casper's shadow tileset for the tree. Here is the result.

  2. Some actual in-game screenshots from my li'l game Shadowloom: The Last Dragon Nymph! :kaoluv: I'm mostly, almost, nearly, willy nilly done wid my first (out of four) dungeon, the Shadow Forest, an overgrown forest where ruins of the glory days of Shadowloom can still be seen!

I've put in some dialogue screens too, seen when you explore the woods and have the occasional chat wid yo lovely, overbearing, clumsy, and too-excited companions! :wub

Anyway, I'm not really lookin' for mappin' advice, so this post is more like a LOOK WHAT I DONE type of thing. But of course I welcome any comments! :kaoluv: Especially of the "Alice will you marry me?" kind, but I'll take what I can get!

  3. @alice_gristle While I'm not going to ask you to marry me (that would make my life soooo complicated) I will say that I really like those maps. The colours, shapes and general layouts all appeal to me. As do the dialogue backgrounds. A very nice touch having them varied - or, indeed, having them at all!
  4. Zombie is already taken, but Zombie also likes color. The red, purple, and green of the forests is very appealing to Zombie's eyes. All the colors of the forest seem to go so well together and stand out individually. Don't know if there is an artsy term for that or not. And what you did with the forest background on the dialog screenshot is cool too. Very, very nice.
  5. @alice_gristle , those maps are absolutely lovely! Loved the colors, details and compositions. Best of luck on the project!!
  6. I guess I'll be the one to stick his neck out and make a marriage proposal...I've only ever asked one girl before and that was when I was just a small child. :p

Anyway, love these, especially the color pallet. I'm biased to pink but the purple really makes the scene here.
  7. @BloodyKun aww honey thanks! :wub My palette has a strong pink streak too, so I got you covered!
  8. On the eve of the battle against the Demon King, the bravo returned to her long-lost hometown, to fulfill the promise she made to her companions in days gone by. However, time seemed to have frozen on the day before her departure... Will the flower sea she promised to, still bloom as expected?
The game has published on steam for free, you can search Sea of Phantom Flowers to find it.

  9. @AliceWz I just checked it out and it looks interesting and nice. It’s too bad it isn’t in English. I wish I could read the language.

Thank you~ We do have plans to create an English version, but currently, our resources are limited. We need to first complete the development of another new game Library of Phantom Night (You can also find it on steam 0v<)

As for the English version of this game, please look forward to more updates on localization in the future!
  11. @AliceWz such a lovely atmosphere! Also love the character portraits.

Been working on a tileset / assets / characters. I'm not very good at drawing, but got a tablet and have been slowly working at it.
  13. @Danatoth the tiles are shaping up nicely, but could I suggest you put that screen shot in the WIP thread in Resource Support, because you've got 3 different perspectives going there. The castle is much more top down than normal in RM, the house looks about right and the tree is too flat - basically it's 2.0 D instead of 2.5 D
  14. This is such a great thread for motivation. Inspiring to see the output our community produces. I hope to post some of my own project soon.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Thank you for your appreciation! The portraits are drawn by my GameMakerMate(Im not sure how to describe this qwq), she'll be so happy since you like her work! Feel free to follow both of our games on steam as well o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o

Just did some optimization work as this plugin used to have a performance problem when scrolling up/down, because it had to re-draw all the text every frame. Now they're drawn only once on an intermediate bitmap object :thumbsup-right:
  17. @Gensun that's a pretty nice font, sweetie! :wub
  18. Sloppily placed my items together just to showcase if theyd fit together so ignore the poor mapping + lack of lighting/effects. I just want to know; does it look good or must i fix something? please dont be too harsh. i havent done tilesets in awhile :yswt:
