I might add some lights and more details with parallax eventually, but i like how this one looks

Do you run into issue with layers not responding to players properly in tileset B?
Thank you for your response. I'll see if I can open my game after work to replicate your issue. For now, what exactly are you having an issue with?

When using mode7, setting a tile to STAR doesn't make any difference, my characters walk right over them :-(

the overall vibe is great, not only can you add more lights but maybe play a little bit with lighting? like add shadows and so I think there are some plugins for that.

I love the aquarium, and that there's a lady cleaning the windows. I also like the curved walls and wallpaper. Actually, I just love the whole thing.

Haven't opened RPG Maker, but I think I know what happened there. Tile priority is not an enabled feature of UltraMode7. It is even in the disclaimer section:

Because the tilemap is rendered entirely flat, tile priority isn't used.
Anyway, depending on what you want to happen, there are some solutions, but generally you would need to create events out of things that the party would walk under of. If you need to make certain areas outside the 1x1 area of an event impassable, you would need to create a blank tile that serves as an X tile placer, or use a plugin for it (for my convenience, I use YEP's Region Restrictions).

Ah! Missed that; thank you. I only use it on my world map anyway, so it was only for walking behind mountain peaks. No biggie!

That looks great! Like the entrance to a high end casino. Fish tanks <3
  8. @Beewo I think the cluttering of your plants looks very organic and natural! I love it.

@thepsyche Gorgeous map! Love seeing the behind the scenes.
  9. A game in which you have to move dice to advance. Various mechanics (will) make it a challenging puzzle. There's no real demo yet. However, there's a submission for a german Game Jam, in which I participate.

I'm developing the english version at the same time.

  10. My project composes itself of 3 types of scenes: Settlements, which clickable buildings that serve different purposes, corridors, and rooms, corridors and rooms compose dungeons, pretty much like in darkest dungeon.

Last time I posted an early try to do a settlement type of scene, this time I've worked on corridors, tho doesn't have anything you can interact with yet, I've mainly been working on improving the art and getting everything set up.

P.S.: The black area in the bottom half is intended for some future UI elements, so don't mind it.

    Spoiler
(sorry for the lag in the video, in game it works well, but the recording is always a bit laggy)

Also a static screenshot of the scene:

  11. During holiday I did work in Parlor, where the former owner of this library met his guest 0v0

  12. Here's a little more Dragon Quest stuff! I think the RTP looks pretty good with the Dragon Quest style.

As an update from my last Dragon Quest style post, I added HP/MP gauges for the party, adjusted the layout of the windows, and added portraits and animations for the actors. It's not as authentic, but I think I like it this way! :aswt:

  13. @AliceWz That is a very pretty screen shot, but I have a problem with your shadows. As far as I can tell, the chandelier is in front of the railings. If that is so, then you cann't have shadows from the railings falling forward like that.

Thanks for your kind reply 0v0 That is not shadow, it's the reflection, above the floor. The true shadow can be seen behind the railing, you can find it on the edge of the railing XDDD

Really interesting UI. Never played the original Dragon Quest games but this definitely gives me retro vibes.

Yes I love it too ! It's one of the most surprising resource I found for my game 0v0

There's a way around that problem! If you right click on the map name in the list of maps (like you were going to open up the Map Properties), you should have an option for Shift. You can shift the entire map, events and all, in any direction. The only thing you have to watch out for is that you update the events that transfer onto that map, otherwise you might find yourself trapped in the wall!

Looking forward to seeing how this map continues to develop! Did you have a particular use for this room in mind, or were you mostly looking to experiment with how the piece fit together?
Thanks for this piece of information! It's one of many features I didn't see it anywhere in the documentation/guide. I also discovered I can do this with Ctrl + T.

I created this room to experiment with diagonal movement and diagona stairs tilesets, but I doubt I'll use this room for anything. I will definitely use what I've learned, though!

Speaking of stairs, I created a spiral staircase with parallax mapping and my own artwork! It's not that visible due to the animation, but I'm still quite proud of it and I'll post footage of walking on the staircase in the near future.

  19. @AliceWz Wow!! So pretty! I love the moonlight and sunlight, and... OHMIGOSH!! Is that FEY INSPIRED?! I LOVE IT!!! (Anything fey-related is a big winner in my book! :kaopride:)

Thanks a lot for your appreciation! This will give us much inspiration 0v0 To be honest, I haven't got any commendable experience of playing game qwq……so I'm curious about "fey inspired" XD Is that a game with beautiful graphics? 0v0
