@wetwipe98 those maps are really well made. Nice job! The amount of glassware in the bar is really impressive. Maybe the middle of the bar can use a carpet or something to break up repetition?

@wetwipe98 exquisite. splendid, the way you arranged the chair at the corner, how the art direction going plus your mixture and usage of colour palette, it's very inviting!
@Ninjakillzu Idk but I got vibes of metal gear solid plus resident evil from your footage.
if a picture worth a thousand words, then... cinema adaptation>tv adaptation>anime adapation>game>footage>image>words/books -
@wetwipe98 Very nice maps, I like the colour palette and general layout. I do, however, have a query about your bathroom.
Looking at the other rooms you obviously have no problem with furniture which toches the wall, but in the bathroom both the toilet and the bath are away from the wall - yet these are 2 items (especially the toilet) which are normally plumbed in touching it. -
@wetwipe98 reeeaaally nice maps honey! :wub I'm wid Kes on the palette, it looks so nice! I wud maybe work on the shadows a li'l bit tho, sometimes in the corners they look like they made of strange liquid?

Been a while since I've been able to put anything together in MZ. Any references for altering the look of the ATB bar to not look out of place with the default UI? -
I usually can't ever get water autotiles to look good, but this time I'm kinda hopeful?:kaoswt: Just a quick proto of my water tile for Slaybuster. I haven't got around to making a ground tile yet, either! (Also that's a genuine Kaldar Bane understudy.) :kaoluv:

Ultimately, I love pixel art, and I love mapping. It's what makes me happy. I left on a bad note last time that I was here. I just want to share my maps and art, and have a good time, whilst being a meaningful member of the community. I apologize if I ever sway from that. So with that being said, I would like to share a map that I have been recently working on.

@alice_gristle I am eager to see some of that game play and banter.
@superkoopa Welcome back again. Wow that map is looking gorgeous! That 3D-sort-of effect is fantastic. -

Thanks for the welcome back, I appreciate it! and also thanks for the kind comment. I'm just wondering whether to build upon that map and make it one huge playing area, or add to it by linking maps together, the latter would be easier I reckon, and less stressful on the engine. -
@superkoopa good to see you back, honey!:kaoluv: I missed yo super cool maps! Gotta love those crazy lookin' bunny critters. :wub

@alice_gristle It's good to be back! Although, just a heads up, the crazy bunny critters are out in full force today!

@superkoopa That is a lovely map. I especially like the way you have introduced all the variations in elevation.
On whether to have one large or lots of small maps, maybe a compromise by having e.g. the equivalent of 2 of these small maps? The reason I'm suggesting that is that it can be trying for the player to be constantly changing maps and would allow you to have more things happening and/or the smae thing happening but in a more spacious setting. It would also reduce the amount of work needed to ensure that all the maps stitch together seamlessly. -
Yesterday, I actually worked on Collector for 5 hours straight! I was implementing a side quest and a lot of interconnecting interactions between several NPCs.

@Kes I do appreciate the kind words, Kes!
One part of me is telling myself to make it easier and create multiple-linking maps, though I do like the idea of a huge traversable area. I have been inspired by Sea of Stars, where in this case, there is a section where you can leap into water from higher ground, I'd love to be able to replicate that; Sea of Stars was also an inspiration for the variations in elevation. -
New screenshots for a new project, 2-BIT EXPLORER. The idea is a big labyrinth that can be explored as much as the player wants. Like my previous project, it is expected that not all players will go out of the main quest path and experience 100% of the content the game has to offer.

@fiddleling my eye took a li'l bit to adjust to those vines. I think they okay, but any chance you cud streamline or simplify them a bit? Altho, not sure... I kinda like the sense that they cover errything in a big mass. Eh, I guess they fine! :kaoswt:

Sooo, it's always excitin' to me when I first load a tileset into the editor and test it out by makin' a real map, instead of jus' makin' mockups in Gimp... The first actual map for Slaybuster, with real actual genuine tiles. :kaoswt: Gonna need an additional colour element, probably blue. Dunno what yet.
Also, ignore the fella walkin' in the middle, he just a doofus I made for testin' purposes. He not even a Kaldar Bane understudy! Also also, highly unlikely that this map is gonna make it to the finished game, 'cuz I wuz just cramming it full of stuff from my newly uploaded tileset. (Which isn't complete yet, but I cud not wait, had to see it in engine!) :kaoluv: -
Oh, I haven't posted here in a bit.
-
Omg slaybuster! Those trees are really something, screaming with their big mouths.
-
@SGHarlekin you cooked up a nice, harmonious-lookin' map! :kaoluv: The trees create a cozy feeling that I like. :wub Wud you consider an extra set of stairs or summat in the lower left corner, so I cud get back up from the lower level without havin' to retrace my steps? Jus' for comfort and exploration purposes!
