I just finished adding 6 news stories to be available for reading at the new Public Data Terminals. These are actual multi-paragraph articles, and I have 18 stories planned for the demo. Each major plot point adds six new stories for the player to read and learn more about events in the game world.

@Ninjakillzu I'm not sure what I at least can say about the new screenshots because they are the same as before, but with different text.
-
Yeah, the backgrounds are the same, but the focus is on the text I wrote. None of these articles were written at the time of my last post. Most of my recent work has been writing and not mapping.@Ninjakillzu I'm not sure what I at least can say about the new screenshots because they are the same as before, but with different text.

I updated my battlescreen, by putting the party window in the bottom right.
How it compare to the previous layout? Did it improved the UI?
NEW UI
OLD UI
-
@murilloc I think I prefer the UI at the bottom of the screen.
-
@murilloc Much better at the bottom. The new layout looks good.
-
@murilloc - I like the new layout better as well. With the window popping up on the bottom, it keeps the main battle screen clear so the players won't lose sight of enemy battlers when there is more on the field.

Hello all please give your opinion on these parallax/mixed map, feel free to roast it :) should i have never attempted at all :)
SpoilerSpoiler
edit: extra maps, with light background
Spoiler -
@mMarix Did you mean to post these two with a heavy overlay? Or maybe it's heavy tinting? Either way, even with peering closely I can't see anything except a few blue wisps and a bit of building in the first map and blue wisps with some feature or other at the bottom of the second. It's therefore not possible to say anything constructive about them, though it does seem to me that if I can't see what's there, your players may have the same problem.
EDIT
When I zoomed in at max I was able to pick out a few more details and found the player, but still not enough to have any idea of what those maps consist of. -
Yeah, its supposed to be a dark forest and ruined city in a desert, that part has overlay yeah, this one looks better, its the area transition
Spoiler
edit:it could be the weather/light system on so its extra dark at night -
The home of my four main characters.
The same map during winter, when you can get across the water now.
-
This looks like a resolution/device problem (game is on 1920x1080 so its the largest resolution availale for more stuff on screen), default is 1500x720 (and maps are made for that). I can't see any reason you are unable to pick up suff unless you have medical eye conditions.. so looks like some incompatibilityWhen I zoomed in at max I was able to pick out a few more details and found the player, but still not enough to have any idea of what those maps consist of.

I have perfect vision and can hardly make anything out in those screenshots, even with my phone or monitor turned up to full brightness.
@Bonus I like the idea of being able to revisit places and have new exploration opportunities thanks to frozen water. -
Beat me too it but yeah, regardless of vision I can't see much on those either.I have perfect vision and can hardly make anything out in those screenshots, even with my phone or monitor turned up to full brightness.

@Bonus A few thoughts:
- There are a number of places in the northern half where your trees line up vertically. Moving some of them even one tile to either side would help make it look more natural. The straight lines pop out to one's eye.
- What's with the double wide doorway on the left building? Is it supposed to be a barn or something? There's not really any indication of purpose on the exteriors of the structures.
- The small windows on the left building imply a second story, but it's the same two tiles high as the northern building. The right building is only one tile high, which seems incorrect compared to the other two - is it supposed to be partially set into the ground? Something else?
- For someplace that gets covered by snow in the winter, there are no chimneys indicating that people can heat their houses.
- This is a personal opinion, but I don't think the tree autotiles with the black center look good in this kind of mixed map. It doesn't make visual sense to me that I can see the tops of the roofs but not the tops of the trees. Your tastes may vary.
@Kes There's nothing wrong with your eyes, this poster just delivers personal insults to all feedback. -
@Finnuval maybe they require 3D glasses. Or drugs?
-
I suppose \i made them too dark :) more visible and resolution normal. have to check with my doc :) since the customer is always right :) i think i'm blind

this is strange, could be some graphics card issueI have perfect vision and can hardly make anything out in those screenshots, even with my phone or monitor turned up to full brightness.

Admittedly everything is wrong with my eyes, but I wanna play games too! ;_;
-
The treetop autotile might be my most-hated RPG Maker asset, so I'll throw out a few resources as suggestions:
- Pixel Art World
- Noir et Blanc Patisserie (Blank and White Pastry Shop? IDK the correct English translation haha)
