  1. @masterlobo, so sweet, I love spring! Nice looking flowers! And is that a butterfly? (If it is, isn't it flapping its wings a bit too sluggishly tho?)

Too slow for flight, maybe. But when the stop to generate body heat, they slowly open their wings and then quickly close them. Could just be a happy medium for simplicity. That way it can have a lower move rate and still look consistent.

  3. Messing with making lights and other assets. I don't know what these boxes will be for yet. I was playing the Outer Worlds and really like the waspquitos holding cells. So I popped these out. I might rework them or use them as a basis to make a 'satellite/signal location'
  4. @SoftCloud Those lights on the bridge and boxes are really cool!
Small details like that really catch the eye!

Just exploring your farm cave by breaking into the walls.
    Everything is randomly generated!

that looks so cool! Very interesting idea.

Yeah, I s'pose yer right. And anyway even if it looks off, it's just a minor detail! The rest looks gorgeous!

The World Map of Fursona. I tried my best to do the Island of Sodor, The Isle of Man to the West and northwestern England to the east.

EDIT: The dirt path represents the North Western Railway, the main standard gauge railway of Sodor and home to among other engines, Thomas the Tank Engine.

I had the idea to use an icon font to draw the icons instead of /system/IconSet.png, so I used this window as an opportunity to experiment with that to see how well it would work.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I really like how clean your UI looks. My only feedback, for the lower UI, would be that while it may be easy for me to tell that left side is HP and the right side is TP/MP, it may not be as easy for someone who isn't used to RPGs.

Thanks for your comments! As for the butterfly, it is intentionally slower, it's more of a peaceful decoration to showcase the beauty of the area. While higher speeds would def be more realistic, I think it would clash a bit with the peacefulness / serenity of the place.

Yeah, I guess you could say it's a happy medium for simplicity :)

This is really cool! How can a user tell if a wall is mine-able or not? SFX?

  10. @masterlobo Thanks! All walls in the caves are mine-able besides the margin around the perimeter of the map. That will give an error sound if you try to break through those.
  11. The Village of Taran

So I have since moved away from this art style and moved to a more traditional JRPG look, but I made this and what I might just share it, I worked on it on and off for a few months and it was my second map using these assets and art style. It is a large 128x128 map, there things I am not happy with it and stuff I like, but overall I'm pretty pleased, let me know what you think!

I am moving on to making my own pixel art based graphics now, trying to get inspiration from the old final fantasy games(as well as Final Fantasy 7 I used to play 5 on my PSP and 4 on the DS when I was younger), so if you anyone would like to give me any hints or tips then that would be great thank you!
  12. @SirSquiddington Ive merged your post with the Map & Screenshots thread.

  13. Now I know what you guys are thinking, "Let's build a Summer home there!" Yeah I know right? Pretty much the obvious first thought. :LZSwink:

  14. Hello darkness my old friend. :LZSwink:
  15. Developing a metacontent space. Unlockable art, sketches, and unique items to the game-world.
    Initial entry:
'control' to be used to change out special items. Such as: key monsters or structures.

  16. @ImaginaryVillain that looks so cool! Reminds me of the days games used to have prerendered backgrounds.

@SoftCloud The metacontent space is an interesting idea. Maybe It would help to have empty podiums & picture frames hanging in spaces where there will be content to unlock. Just to make it look a bit less empty when starting out and also giving the player a sense of progress when they see how much they've accomplished.
  17. Not going to lie... I kind of favor phone games that still use that style. A lot of point and click adventures still use it. There's just something about walking around an artistic vista that I find appealing. :LZSexcite:
  18. o1Dah35.png
... maybe this is too niche a joke.

This menu is incredibly swanky, I love the style of the icons and soft gradient background style.
  19. The map has to be ultimated, but we're pretty proud!

  20. Here's my latest clip, now of the "Emerald Waters". This place must be traversed by boat, but make no mistake, the fish are not friendly!

I was heavily inspired by Final Fantasy I's canoe segment (Crescent Lake). The idea of fighting enemies while on the canoe really stuck with me lol

Neat idea. Are these meant to be like achievements before achievements? Like Final Fantasy XII's Sky Pirate's Den?
