@Kes that's a fair point but like I stated they arent really houses, rather storage converted to accommodate guests when the main building is full (like sleeping in the stable) so perhaps removing the windows would help better clarify that to the player? Working with only the base resourced does have its limits lol
Whatever the case I will try out your suggestion regardless and see how that looks :)
Thanks again for your feedback!

Starting my new battle system on Rm2k3

-
Sounds good then. :) Just want to add I like those too! The menu system makes me think of something a bit like a mini-game in a way and this style seems to help make the game differ a bit from other games in that aspect. Best of luck with your game! It certainly got me interested.
....
Nice! Did it take a lot of eventing to get that look in Rm2k3? I really like how the blue flames are lite up in the background! -
Yeah haha, now i know why ppl dont like to maker theis own CBS hahaNice! Did it take a lot of eventing to get that look in Rm2k3? I really like how the blue flames are lite up in the background!

@DarlesLSF This thread is specifically for in-game and map screenshots, it is not for such things as showing how you evented something.

Sry man, already changed the post :p@DarlesLSF This thread is specifically for in-game and map screenshots, it is not for such things as showing how you evented something.

My first ever parallax map, haven't added the lighting yet.
-
@Melloshi What was a parallax needed for? You could do the same in the editor, for less work and a lower file size.
-
-
Bit of a WIP.
Also, now you can friendzone dudes in video game form. Neat.
-
...
That's quite impressive you were able to do it. I know back when rm2k3 was used frequently people learned to do a lot with events but I don't see much eventing done these days, nice to see something.
...
I do like it, without the moon in the background it would still make me think of the moon and moonlight because of the blue trees with cloudly tiles.
I also want to know though why you choice to parallax it, though. As I have the same thoughts as @cabfe . -
I dont like the battle system of the rm2k3, so I prefer to make my own. I dont have much time now, but I think tomorrow I'll done the BS.That's quite impressive you were able to do it. @Lorenze
Screen shots look great. I like what you done with mostly black and grey. There’s great readability in the tile set despite the low color count! :)
Also, is that a pixi effect you have for the first screenshot? ...if it is, is it something free to use that can be downloaded somewhere? It looks super cool and I’d like to use it myself for an underwater area. -
Hi all, I have a query about how well these two styles mesh.
Unfortunately I have neither the skill to make my own sprites, nor the money to have as many sprites as I would need made to make the game. However I find the Ace sprites, MV sprites and Mack sprites just don't work for me... so I resized the XP sprites, made them a tad smaller so they matched the doorways of the Ancient Dungeons set, and I think they look pretty good... But I fgured I'd get some feedback over the idea.
Thanks. -
@Paladin-Cleric of Awesome nice idea! the biggest issue to me is some of the bright colors, for example the pink haired girl, stands out a little, but overall i think you can get away with it. this makes me miss the xp sprites so much lol...
-
Hmmm, I could mess with the colour saturation I guess, bring the brightness down a touch. I might have a play tomorrow when feel more awake! lol
-
There is a tree trunk cut off, few tiles south the waterfall. And yes, characters are a bit too colorful and maybe add some shadows? The characters are the only one without shadows. -
Lol. Totally forgot to fix that! I was messing with the water and forgot to read that part! Thanks for noticing for me!
Do characters need shadows? I’ve never really noticed the ace or my characters. But I suppose xp is bigger and might need some to look normal.
I have my work cut out for me it seems. -
by multi-story I mainly mean 3 stories, each has its own balcony, and this is where I'm having trouble.
I cannot for the life of me get the perspective down for building in RM.
EX: I build a 3 tile high wall, and to add character I move one back and make another 3-tile high wall to represent a dimensional effect of distance (image)
https://ibb.co/ckiomU
if you take a look this, it looks weird, (I know thats not a castle but my creative juices are shot and I just cannot get past this ugly look/effect)
I want to make enough space so a player can walk up there but ends up look really odd.
Can anyone relay some advice on some Laws of Building in RMMV like some maths that equals a good perspective look, like odd tiles up, 2 tiles for a good roof, 3 tile space for walking...etc.
Also does anyone know how to get Railings for the balcony, I tried the Fence and it adds the post in the center of the tile, this causes a weird gap that does not look aesthetically appealing, or correct for what a railing is (on the edge of the roof/floor)
all help will be highly appreciated. -
Not necessary but I think it would look better... nothing fancy, just a small semi-transparent ellipse maybe. ...As wrote, they are the only one without shadows and for now they look like glued on the screen.Do characters need shadows?
