Even more interesting characters. It’s nice to get different outfits for each, since it makes creating new scenes in different locations even easier.

There we go, this will be door 14.
The women could be anything. A teacher, a librarian, working in a shop, as a real estate agent or even secretary. There are lots of possibilities like yesterday. The other guys could fill up your scene and round things up in the background. Sometimes we need less interesting people that do not shift the players' attention too much. Right?
Day #14
Day #14 - Looks (visuals) -
Unique characters are great, but having normal looking characters for background npcs are perfect for making a city feel even more alive, so this is a great release.
-
Door 15 brings you more regular people, that may fill your scenes and bring it to life. They will fit nearly everywhere, so it's up to you how you would set them up.
Day #15
Day #15 - Looks (visuals) -
Love the redhead’s hair, and the guy wearing a suit looks like he’d be at home in an office or a club.
-
Don't you worry, my weekend was kind of full. I'm sorry you had to wait!
Door # 16 - 16.12.2023
Day #16Door 16 brings you more space in the world, with more different shops on the streets to look at and the first backroom for the club setting. I mean, you totally can use it as you want to, but I think this room makes one great setting for meetings with the bossy type. It also could be the place a detective does his homework... It's again, totally up to you! Just use your imagination.
You can download the street parallax: ~~~ HERE ~~~
As extra we have today windows, blinds and doors, so you can change in the future some of the rooms that were made. I will include more for sure and you totally can start building your room dummy map, to fill it later with stuff I trow in here and there. We have still 15 days to go! Trust me, you will have a lot of stuff to make your game truly yours.
Day #16 - Looks (visuals) -
Time for some places to meet and greet...
Door # 17 - 17.12.2023
Day #17...get a new hair cut or have a cup of coffee. It would have been one reason to stall, just to give you the street and the shops at the same time, even though it was not that intentional. I kind of like the idea that possibilities arise with space we can include. So you don't have to get a new haircut. Maybe the mob boss you try to impress to gain some important information for the main plot, forces you to extort protection money from ordinary shop owners. Maybe the MC needs a job, to get some money, I mean, nothing wrong with a little side hustling right? But hey, maybe I can't even think of the things you come up with... It's your world! So get creative!
As extra we have today the clean room setting. You can totally build up from there. In these four walls the magic happens later on for me. It's the xs version, so small rooms that we need here and there should be covered. You can totally mix this stuff up I think. I will include more separate stuff for sure and you totally can start building your room dummy map, to fill it later with the things I throw in here and there. We still have 14 days to go! Trust me, you will have a lot of stuff to make your game truly yours.
Day #17 - Looks (visuals) -
Nice to have more interiors, that coffee shop is my favorite. Every game needs some caffeinated meetups to solve a problem.
-
I really like the different windows you did, adds such a variety to modern streets.
And that backdoor cabinet! -
Door 18 is ON and the game world can become quite complex...
Door # 18 - 18.12.2023
Day #18...because the city grows a lot. We stay in our streets today, but this time I included something for our little ones. I saw it in another calendar and found it pretty important, so I just realized it the past few hours! I did some variations, so you can choose what fits your scene most. Some like shadows, some not so much, some like everything new, some want it worn down and creepy. Let me tell you, you get everything! The first scene with some kind of nature, some kind of open space and on top many possibilities to put it to use. At day there might be some families, kids and their moms, but let me tell you, at night this open space between the tenements can become dark alleys, filled up with darker people. May there lurk a vampire in the shadows? Will there be a meeting spot for shady thugs? Will there be a location to deliver a suitcase full of money, because someone was abducted... I really don't know what you will make of it. But I trust you will make a place of interest out of it.
Please load the set from: ~~~~ Here ~~~~
No extras today or else I'd spoil the fun! Not doing that... :rswt
Day #18 - Looks (visuals)The visuals only show everything bright. Both sets with BG and FG have shadows. To overlay a shadow for your character to step into, you could create your own. For this map it would be pretty easy to do.
-
Love that there’s both a plain wood and painted option, makes to easier to put a fitting park in a neighborhood. Or they could be used in flashbacks to when the main character was a kid.
-
Door 19 is on! So let's just get into it, because there is not much to explain.
Door # 19 - 19.12.2023
Day #19The game world can become quite complex because the city grows a lot. We stayed in our streets again today. This time we enlarge the city furthermore, so we are able to mix and match our very own streets. Every city has some kind of shopping street and in every city we have different possibilities to spend some time with loved ones. Just don't forget to let your MC enjoy his time in the world. Or even let other characters in your game have a nice time window shopping...
To get the full parallax image in 1536x768 just download it: ~~~~~ Here ~~~~~
Day #19 - Looks (visuals) -
Great addition, I can already imagine all the sprites wandering the sidewalks and looking in shop windows.
-
Door 20 is UP! Let's go...
Door # 20 - 20.12.2023
Day #20...and have some ice cream, or do we want to have some cake to go or a birthday party? Again something that can bring you possibilities to arrange a quest on the side, take a job, buy something you need, get to know someone or meet up with your favorite girl or boy in the game world. But maybe the kids force their parents to stop and have a nice treat before or after going to the playgrounds? I imagine a lot if I see these settings in the game world.
Note: As of now, I am unsure how I will deal with the possibility of having the window of the shop front included or not. It can have its downfall to have them as an overlay on the parallax map, even though it can also look interesting. Maybe you will have your very own preference, so I include for now both versions to use. At some point it should also be clear that I will come back updating stuff here. I cannot go too much into detail right now, since many of those assets, places and characters are made in a rather small timescale. But in the end even this will only mean that you will be able to choose from different sets. At some point I will also make something like the awning a more regular thing as a part of an overall shopping street tileset. But for now it has to be like it is, since time is of the essence to make this world grow faster. I also think there is enough room for your very own creativity. I also think I will release parts you can build up in layers, like with the room, but with the buildings. But since everything here is a learning process I cannot do this right now. I have to figure out what would influence the result of the parallax map in a way that even the windows would look different... I think it's important to get to a point where a clear stylistic framework and point is made, but the smaller differences become important enough to notice something like there are no blinds, no interieur, no curtains or different lights in the windows. For me it's kind of normal to see these things - let us call them mistakes - in games. There have to be differences like the colorization of the buildings, window frames and so on.
And it's not about having no other buildings in new scenes. Some parts of a city look kind of the same, with slight differences. I also have enough assets to draw from. It's kind of the point to learn what I want to include in an everyday set of things, that may work in tilesets to have a regular set of parts that can complement the parallax map with a slight but noticeable change. I mean if you put newspaper boxes, street lights, traffic lights, trash bins and so on onto the street, you will change these parallax backgrounds already so much, because the paths are the point of interest. But that does not mean we should forget these empty windows right? At least that's my thought...
Anyways, just be sure about the fact that there will be changes, more options and opportunities, even for things like the appearance of these smaller details, that also should vary, so your game would not look like mine in the end! Nobody wants that... right? :rswt
Let's take a look at the new settings...
Day #20 - Looks (visuals)I kind of like the new look for the previews of rooms. You can see everything and also dream of how things like these rooms could influence your story. I see my MC buying some rolls or bagels for the breakfast cutscene event of one of the mornings in the game world, when the next important steps to go got revealed as the storyline thickens...
-
Bakeries and ice cream shops may not show up often in games, but they should now! Just imagine all the side quests that could happen there, or the buffs from eating some frosty snacks or yummy cupcakes.
-
I like the ice cream shop :)

Door # 21 - 21.12.2023
Day #21:rswt I had a really hard time and I am sorry that you had to wait. Getting ill in the time before christmas with this kind of plan is not really a good thing. Trust me on this, I feel a little sad and want to gift you with these things pretty bad!
Anyways, I still look into the direction of making the world bigger for you! It's what we need right? So this day we go back to our club and eventual mob hideout, rounding things up by adding some rest room to it. Day 21 is about the girls and I also include a dirty and clean version. At least we have possible new jobs to do and the option to change something that fits our setting. I would encourage you to also play with a less bright mood. Like just turning the brightness of the images down a little, like the light would be off. You also can do that by an easy vignette overlay or even with the maker. Looks great I think...
But let's get to it...
Day #21 - Looks (visuals)
Door # 22 - 22.12.2023
Day #22Again a restroom setting, but this time we do the male part! Don't forget, you don't have to use them for the club. You could choose other places to use them. Be creative with it and use all the potential you get with them... I also did them, like they would be kind off next to each other. It's possible that I choose to do some hallways here and there in the future, so it would come in handy having both matching up.
Let's get to it...
Day #22 - Looks (visuals) -
Urban characters that are definitely not run-of-the-mill, and tilesets for constructing their world. I can definitely envision these assets being used in modern setting RPG's. Thank you for these and Merry Christmas.
-
Wow, so many great new resources. Thank you for sharing all these!
-
Holy smokes. I didn't even know this was a thing. I mean I've played a game or two with Daz assets but I didn't know there were resources out here like this! Maaaaan, considering that I actually use Daz for all the images in my game except the sprites, the art style of the game itself could've been far more faithful to the scenes... But I like the default cartoon/anime look though, so I might see if I can get some Daz renders to look MV/MZ RTPish. If I can, the doors that you've just opened...
