  1. Here is a little thing I made when I did the edit for SF_Actor3_1 yesterday, that char has a different face in his charset and I wanted to reflect that in his SV Battler.
So here is the edited char and SV battler base, in case you want some males with a little more mature and serious faces as well :)

  2. Good news for me, bad news for you: I am recovering and can do other things than sitting on my computer and fiddle around with resources! Whohoo.

Three more of the simpler battler conversions, those that in my opinon work with mostly some proportion and style adjusting.

I felt like the young guy and the nun look more like clerics and people that fight with spells, so I think they do well as they are without actual weapons.
And the older guy looks like he is the boss in this fight anyways, that uses stat boosting shouts to his guards and can't be attacked until they are taken down or something like that ;D

They also all already have matching SV battlers made for them and are all now "just" an emoset shy of being complete :)

I think I might leave the SF characters weaponless, since for a modern setting a weapon would lock them too much on their fighting style... I mean, they all could use martial arts or guns or baseball bats or... whatever.
But nonetheless, there are much more difficult conversions lying ahead if I keep doing this.

For a lot of them, more massive edits and redraws have to be done, especially when it comes to the bottom part... Those are just two examples, but some have no or horrible feet, so far I had to retouch the proportions for every one of them and some of the remaining one are worse... welp.

But for now, I am just clocking those three into the what the RTP is missing list.
  3. I am still on my not so secret mission to fill at least a good amount of gaps that the RTP has left, and today I tackeled "the other half" of the SF_People3 Faces, Busts and Emosets. See, some of the Emosets are kinda economically, since for example for most of the Actors you get a two for one, as the SF Actors often share the same face.
And SF_People 3 5-8 does that to the max, with them ALL being recolors of SF_Monster_6 (which also had no emoset as of now).
So throwing that mighty stone even though it meant a lot of fiddly recoloring, I have 13 gaps in that list filled today!

  4. Three things inspired this edit: the fact, that there are three versions of it on the sheets (blank, gems and gems glowing), the fact that the glowing one by default looked really off and the gate-like shape of it.

So with the gems now glowing as I like them due to my edit and the opening animation, there are so many ways this could be used: it could glow up once a mage reads the ancient text on it and trigger something, for example it could glide open.
And wheather it leads to light or darkness is uo to you ;D
With a little trimming on the top it could also turn into a door for a building, but as is it seems to be more mythical and magical.
Maybe it is your magical waypoint system, various gates, that once activated lead to other activated gates (hello Diablo II)?

  5. Huh, I'm doing a lot of talking to myself here, as it seems^^'
Another "animated tile", here the crytal orb. It can now kinda glow, it can break, it can be switched all off (or be cursed) :)

  6. That gate is awesome.
  7. A cursed orb! Fits in well with my still slightly vague plans for your Evil 3. This little side story is, however, fleshing out quite nicely in my head. Now if I were to use that excellent gate as well...... Hmm.
  8. Honestly your work leaves me speechless, as always. There are only so many ways to praise someone without sounding like a broken record or like your brown nosing XD But really Avery.. your work is just.... we don't deserve your awesomeness!
  9. Avery is too consistent with the timing :kaojoy: I literally just finished making an old magical house and needed a broken orb haha
  10. Since my plans yesterday were cancelled, @ZombieKidzRule said now I must bake cookies and make something resourcewise.
And who am I to question that?
Today I have a brass streetlamp, for your more affluent fantasy neighbourhoods, steampunk settings or modern towns with a retro vibe ;)

  11. @Avery, I don't say anything new: this is just awesome, like everything you create. But about the plans... I hope you at least managed to clean the house! :D
  12. Yeah! Look at me! I'm a social media influencer!

Seriously though. I love to joke around and try to be funny, not that my spouse appreciates it. :)

But I love all of your work and it is amazing that you are willing to freely share what you create for the benefit of everyone. You are truly incredible. I have downloaded everything of yours that I have found.

At this point, I think a game could be made that focuses solely on using your assets. It could be called the Avery Exploration Adventure...or Gaming the Avery Way...or something like that.

Thanks again for everything that you do. I hope you never feel unappreciated!

    Less cleaning...more COOKIES!
  13. If you followed this thread for a while, you might have noticed how I replaced already quite an amount of the SF sheets with - in my opinion - more versatile and normal looking versions.

Given the amount of work needed to take them to a different level, I ran into a wall, with the remaining SF_Inside_B and the Outside B and C sheets being just massive workloads that seemed undoable.

In the calendar I split the kitchen sheet into quarters, and that really helped making a whole set feel manageable. I still can't promise I'll ever finish the whole thing because of the amount of time that has to be put into it, but so far I think I made some good changes.

And a quarter sheet is better than nothing I guess? ;)

    comparison modern.png

And here is a comparison with the default. Some things could stay untouched, some were just cleaned up a but, some were completly remade or replaced. Most of the windows got the same glass, so that the town looks more uniform and so that their shading lines up.
The marking were turned from weidly blueish and red-black to a light grey and orange-white, which looks a lot more like the things I am used to ;3
I really did not know what to do with that "open window"?, welp, so I guess that just stays as it is.
  14. I'm happy, I've already replaced most of the default things in newdata folder, because a lot of the original stuff is so ugly in MZ... Can be used only after your retouches :) So I'm looking forward for all competed tileset, of course! Fingers crossed!
  15. That's quite the transformation. Getting the windows to look less bizarre is a particularly useful contribution.
  16. I always look forward to seeing your modern/sci-fi touch-ups! They made a lot of weird design choices.
  17. Adding the results from my seasonal tutorial here as well:

  18. With the People2_5 battler being made lately, it just made sense to fill in the matching emoset as well.
I think I got a nice batch for this mustache-twirling gentlemen, who can now be a lot more expressive in your game!
Since People 2_5 and SF_Monster1 share the same base, I made them both ;3

  20. Hi Avery!
Your dedication to this forum and the people here is inspiring. I wish you the best!
My 10y old daughter and I will use your illustrations when doing our gameproject. She and I are learning MZ together (I was originally looking for horses and ended up spending hours in this thread).
    Again, thanks for your kindness!
