Arin's Let's Play/Try Thread

After playing around with Camtasia Studio for a bit, I realized that I should actually be doing something worth it. So I came to the conclusion of trying my hand at the infamous Let's Play/Try scene. I'll admit I have never had to do this before, so I'll probably be nervous as hell. But it's pretty nice to review games in the format of video, and I've always been drawn to it, and now it's my chance to make it shine. With that being said, though, if you want some feedback for your game, I'm not going to say no. Just be sure to: --Leave a post here with a link to your game. --Specify what kind of platform it is (RPG Maker XP, VX, Ace, and MV (EDIT: I'm willing to make an exception for IGMC since I refreshed myself that IGMC is any platform, but this will be the only time)) so I can get the appropriate RTPs. --Original content only. If there's something I've already seen or played, I won't play it again. This way, I'm not speedrunning through the game and both the developer and I can fix bugs as they come. Plus it's not as exciting when you've already been spoiled about what's going to happen. There might be some leeway to this rule if I haven't seen an entire game yet, or if I haven't cared enough/haven't had the time to finish the game. --NO FANGAMES. Just....don't. They all suck. And you know it. --NO BACKSEAT GAMING! A.K.A. DON'T TELL ME HOW TO PLAY YOUR GAME. LET ME FIGURE IT OUT FOR MYSELF. THAT PISSES ME OFF. --Please tell me before hand if your game is a demo or a complete game. Demos of games are considered Let's Tries (unless they're mere moments away from actual release), and complete games will get a Let's Play. (There is a difference between the two.) --Just to be warned, I can get pretty intense with my critique, and if your game looks like there was no care put into it, I won't care in return. If you can't handle criticism/ranting very well, look somewhere else. Just to make sure that I'm not swamped with games that I can't complete, I'll only allow 5 games to be LP'd at any one time. This makes it easier on me because it's organized and that I don't forget whose game belongs to who. The list will go at the top of the thread. Lastly, leave a thank you. Added it to the list. Since I haven't gotten around to Densetsu no Kusogi, I'll do that one before The Vendor.

PS - I am now 100% certain you have an old demo downloaded. Many of the current tileset, grammar, balancing, and straight up features have been changed/fixed. BUT! Story has remained the same, so you should still get the overall same experience from it.
Here's my rule:

If a bug prevents me from going further that has been resolved in a future update, and that future update is available, THEN I will get that patch, unless someone asks me to absolutely play their new version.

Densetsu no Kosuge pretty much translates to " Game The Adventure". It's meant as a joke and parody on the legendary "kosuge" from NES, I believe. From what I understand, at least.

Just watched the video. I enjoyed how all your RPG instincts seemed to tell you that a random encounter or fight was going to pop out at any time and bite you :D I commented on the video, so I won't repeat that here, but thanks for playing! Looking forward to see more.

Can't say you screwed up much other than what is meant to be a Scottish accent ;) Not that I could pronounce it out loud myself... Really enjoyed you reading it all out loud though!

Could you try out my short horror game. It takes only max.15 minutes and it has two endings. I would appreciate it a lot if you would play it.

Thanks to the strong yet gentle rule of the new queen, the kingdom had been enjoying a bountiful harvest and a golden age of peace and prosperity. Everything seemed perfect. Everything *SEEMED* perfect.
The queen was always smiling at her loyal subjects. Bu deep down, she was terrified for her life.
She had a strange feeling that somehow, someway.. someone was going to kill her.

And sure enough, a few weeks later, a horrible sound echoed through the halls. It was a sound so haunting, so soul-shattering, some say they can still hear It today...

The princess lost her mother at the tender age of twelve... She now must figure out who caused her mother's death and why. To add to her troubles, over half of the entire castle staff has turned against the royal family. Few are even plotting to kill the princess!

In this fantasy survival-type RPG you have to figure out why the queen died as well as not get killed by rogue guards or warriors. Don't think that just because you're the princess they're going to be gentle on you.

After a fateful encounter with a forbidden cursed object, even a maid could kill you with a few drops of magic water. Guide the princess through dark and scary corridors, avoid huge monsters and staff. Solve puzzles and navigate mazes in your quest. Peril truly lurks around every corner!

Which staff and servants are out to get you? Which want to help yo solve this and bring everything to an end? Well... no one knows. Are YOU willing to risk it?

Since Independence Day is coming around, recording will be a bit slower than usual, so if I don't upload in two to three day increments, it's probably because I'm getting pissed off and yelling at my neighbors about blowing off their fireworks.

Oh crap... the text font was messed up in your video, probably because you don't have the correct font installed on your computer. That's why all the text was cut off, since it was never supposed to use the font that appeared in the video. :(

Thank you for the video and review though. Even with the unexpected problems it was nice to see it.

There's an easy way to fix that...by not using any other scripted font (since I'm assuming this is Yanfly) except for the one that you specifically want to use. Since there would be no other options, it will throw an error preventing me from starting the game. Or, you can make a "Fonts" Folder in your game directory that has the Font you want to use. That way, it will start the game with the displayed font without having to start it up.

Even if it's not the correct font that you want to use, I would highly recommend fixing it anyway.

I didn't use any yanfly scripts, and I only had one font which was chosen by modifying the Main script. The correct font is included in the Fonts file of the game. I have no idea why it is not working. :(

The weird thing is, for some people, it doesn't work. I had someone on Windows 7--what I use myself--reporting that my font didn't work in the name input screen without being preinstalled, but worked everywhere else in the game. The very same font, included in the very same way. No idea :/
