    Ahh, that explains it then. If that's true, I would highly suggest hiring someone or at the very least asking someone who is good at English to go over and proofread your game before its initial release. When you have a polished, understandable game, it's going to leave a very lasting impression on the player instead of the player going "Oh, this is going to be one of those games..." like how I did.

    And also regarding the flowers mission, just a bit of transparency is all that's needed. I think I said something along the lines of sparkles indicating where flowers are, but I would also like to point you in the direction of maybe adding an arrow above an NPCs head if they have something important to say. That would also be a great idea and a great mechanic to see in a game like this!
  3. Hi there. So it's been a while since I updated this thread. The reason why I haven't been doing videos lately is because of a couple of things.

    1.: I'm an idiot and I broke my headset mic off my Logitech headset. My sister ended up getting me a new headset last year for Christmas and while it's an amazing headset, the mic on it is garbage, so it significantly reduced the quality of recording that I could do.

    2.: I work nights which is usually my time when I'm recording or playing games. My schedule at work ends up being really rough and I can't really do more than thirty minutes of recording each time. So even recording is going to be a stretch, let alone streaming.

    3. I've been working on my project. If you haven't seen the banner in my signature I have my own project in the works that I have been working on for the past eight months. This has also taken up a majority of my time.

    But now that I've gotten this badass new looking mic, I've...realized that I don't have anything to play! So let me know if you are interested in wanting your game LP'd or Streamed and I will see if I can work something into my schedule that would benefit you. Please remember to read the rules on the first page if you want to submit your game and I look forward to seeing what entries come my way. Also, IGMC games are fine. I know that's everyone's big deal right now around here so if you have an IGMC game you want me to play, go ahead and send it my way.

    Cheers!
  4. Hey, mind trying out the demo for my game? It's made in MV.

    Hey dude! Thanks for replying to my DM! Sending it across here :)

    Downloading and adding to the list! I'm very interested in this one, from the screenshots it looks like a good game.

    Downloading and adding to the list! About how long is the demo? Sometimes due to the length of the game, I may not take certain entries. If it's more than 30 minutes then you're okay, but I think otherwise, I will require something more significant.

    Hey dude! I'm not sure if you've played yet, but a core bug was fixed today. Head over to https://catog.itch.io/telum-fatalem, and it should be there as Update 0.2 (if you've already applied 0.1, you only need to put the Actors.json file in the "www > data" folder)

    Should take about an hour / hour and a half :)

    Hey, I apologize but my interview ended up taking longer than I anticipated. I will be streaming here in a couple of moments.

  9. CONSENSUS TIME!

    @Kato-A:

    While I enjoyed the Sci-Fi feeling of the game and all of the hand drawn assets, the puzzles of the game ultimately confused me with a lack of transparency regarding what I should have been doing. This is a problem that I had with the last of your games, Rainbow Road: The lack of transparency when giving players information. I know you said in the stream that I was supposed to be pushing the boulder up more and more as it was resting against the ramp but there was no indication to do that and that was where I ended up stopping.

    However, on the plus side, this definitely felt WAY more polished than Rainbow Road both in terms of dialogue and general aesthetic of the game. So props to you on that.

    @Catog:

    Did not enjoy the game at all. There was a lot of confusing aspects about the game and the plot that didn't make a whole lot of sense. It feels like there were a hundred and one things going on at once that tried to meld itself all together and the end result was this. The effects are nice, however, especially on the world map, and the tilesets are wonderful. I'm always a fan of FSM tilesets!

    The battle is way too overbearing. The lack of a basic Guard/Attack function makes it so that whenever your caster is Silenced from those damn owls (which need to be toned down) you are literally left with nothing to do except waste a turn trying to Escape, which means you aren't getting EXP from battles. Either make the Silence not be 100% success rate or tone down their health a lot. My other issue with combat is there are too limited of resource items to get rid of said Silence Status effect. You only get 3 chances and after that, it becomes a slog to go through. The battles definitely need to be balanced and polished out.

    @Lorenze:

    I enjoy "She Dreams Elsewhere" a lot! I would love to see more of this project come to light. There are so many good things that I can say about this game with seemingly no negatives. The battles are fun, strategic, fast-paced, and require critical thinking, rather than just using the most powerful skills. I love the MOTHER/Earthbound style sprites and backdrops that you have going for the game, combined with the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei style plot of going into other worlds while being meshed into a current century setting. I can definitely tell that Shin Megami Tensei/Persona were great inspirations in making this game. I would love to see more of this project and I hope you continue working at it.
  10. Hey, thanks so much for the kind words! I was actually able to catch most of the stream and it was really enjoyable to watch.

    Funny thing is - I wasn't signed in to my Twitch account (different computer), but I meant to tell you that there was only five minutes left in the demo before you ended the stream lol. Still, great watch and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

    The battle is way too overbearing. The lack of a basic Guard/Attack function makes it so that whenever your caster is Silenced from those dayum owls (which need to be toned down) you are literally left with nothing to do except waste a turn trying to Escape, which means you aren't getting EXP from battles. Either make the Silence not be 100% success rate or tone down their health a lot. My other issue with combat is there are too limited of resource items to get rid of said Silence Status effect. Hey dude, really appreciate you giving the game a go.

    I guess my error in the storytelling aspect is that this demo takes place about two hours into the game as a side-story, featuring the early-game antagonists as the main characters. Because of that, there is a lot of stuff they reference which really only makes sense if you've played an unreleased game. I don't know if this problem could be fixed by a preamble explaining that, or whether you think the story being told here is just too unnecessarily convoluted in and of itself.

    As for the battles, I think I can offer two solutions. A couple of people have mentioned the Silence state is too overpowered, so here are the solutions I'm thinking of putting in:
    1. Silence no longer seals your skills. Rather, it reduces the magic power, meaning that the skills are still usable, but reduced in power. In addition, the chances of being affected by it are reduced.
    2. Magiel's "Reload" skill, which is basically a low-powered Esuna, is going to be renamed to something like "Reset", to make it more clear as a state-clearing ability. It is there to help deal with those owls, but because of how it's presented, it doesn't immediately seem like a healing skill.

    Again, I really appreciate you taking your time to give the game a try. I am always looking to improve, so I'll take what you've pointed out and work on it :)
  12. Well, it's about 5 years late, but might as well. Try out my Broken Reality game (VX Ace), a medieval fantasy RPG with lovecraftian themes, open-ended quests, politics, class choices that change a lot of things story-wise, and a huge world to explore.

    I'm not sure if I can categorize it as completed or not, as I add new content every 10 days or so in an ever-expanding world, and there is no specific point at which I am planning to stop adding content (I've been making the game on-off for 6 years now, so there is way too much content already). I guess for all intents and purposes, file it as "completed". The game will eventually hit steam as free-to-play, with a paid DLC.

    Hi there @Gravemaster . Unfortunately, and it breaks my heart to say this, I won't be able to get any LPs or Streams going for the next couple of weeks. The reason for that is I'm really hammering down trying to complete my project and get it out to the public for testing, and then eventually, published. Because of that, I won't be taking any more requests for the time being. Thank you for your understanding and once I have a bit more free room, I would absolutely be down to take a look at your project.

    No worries.
