H-here's my Theme #2.

The qualifications needed to become a soldier dumbfounded him. So much so, he was staring at the piece of paper with no idea what to do. These requirements were different to what he had heard from local townsfolk. Nobody had told him he needed an education in the art of war. He was under the impression that he would only be following orders and that would be all. He's not applying to be a Knight!

Had society's definition of being a soldier changed in the mere seconds he had been handed the paper? Had he perhaps come to the wrong station? Was he enlisted at the wrong place? But no, it clearly said that this section is, indeed, Soldier Applications.

“What the ?” he uttered in disbelief. Since when did applying for manual labor became so goddamn complicated? Angry at the lack of explanation, he stomped towards the counter. Until he saw a dog…

These are awesome Archeia! I love the "Fool" imagery you've got going on in the first piece and the story's really great so far.

I assume this other (rather handsome) young man will become the traditional lancer character to our hopeless hero.
