I'm loving the plugins so far. Great work!
One question: I scoured the help files and couldn't find any note tags for weapons to change their SV weapon graphic on a per weapon basis. Did I miss it, or will that be added to a later plugin?

I just noticed aftermath isn't exactly like MV aftermath it's more of a octopath victory result screen than simple yanfly aftermath during the porting when I say.
also why the aftermath seems to be missing even it's already shown, I can't find it -
<snip> Also, if Limited Skill Uses can somehow make its way to MZ in the near future I'd be super hyped. :B
You can do that using item cost for your skill and making the item one that can't be bought in any of your shops. It's not exactly what you're looking for, but a functional workaround until a better solution arises.
Unless you're wanting it to be something that replenishes its uses when you rest (like how skills work in the old Final Fantasy Legend games), in which case... hmm... you'd have to add something to your resting routine where it checks to see if a character knows the skill that needs replenishing, and if so, checks the item count in inventory and boosts it to the correct maximum.
Actually, now that I think about it, I think I saw in one of the YouTube videos VisuStella put out that there's a way to do a self-defined non-item "count" which you could also make be a component of the skill cost, and then you'd just have your resting routine restore those count numbers to a preset maximum. -
@cayenne_spicy I actually have a workaround in my head for it using items, but it is super complicated because of how it is going to be implemented. And I don't want to clog up the thread with talking about the system I'm trying to implement :p.

When I change the position of actor battlers in Battle Core, the actors' shadows and their weapon sprites do not change their position.

Here's a typical JRPG feature that I didn't find in the VisuStella plugins (which doesn't mean it isn't there, I may just not be able to find it): stealing.
I hope someone smarter than me at JavaScript can sort out how to make that work, since I have some neat ideas about how to use that... -
Thanks for the cookie that are your plugins Visustella, but if I may say a little suggestion :
They probably would taste better without the pointy glass shards in them.
I was eager to start MZ but I'll have to wait at least one year for a quality replacement, that's a shame. -

Hey, some people love cookies with glass shards, who are you to deny them -
It will take time to port everything from yanfly to visualstella, only handful of plugins been ported and you may know the familiar with.
-
@VisuStella Are you guys regretting working on these plug-ins? lol. xD I really hope the random hostility dies down soon.
-
Hope we get access to skill evals and enemy AI soon !
-
Let them eat glass!Hey, some people love cookies with glass shards, who are you to deny them
Seriously though, you guys Just keep doing what you are doing and let the negative nancies scream in the desert. -

Who would've thought people hate free cookies? -
Thank you Team VisuStella! I've always love your folks plugins. That allow me to get straight into game making

I was replying on my thread, but it gets closed without anyone telling me that it will be closed...
But here is the reasons that I think that I need to make a own thread and not post here, on your thread(like YOU said that I have to do)...
You could at least let me know! Before I wrote a huge comment like this. When I go to hit enter, the thread was closed :(
@VisuStella
SpoilerWe're not trying to stamp out discussion of VisuStella all together, but please: if you read our thread, why did you feel the need to make a new thread about this?
I do need to make a new thread about this, because:
1 - The other two threads that people are talking about this are closed before I get a chance to say my thoughts.
2 - It's not "about this", it's about the behavior of the community that is behind the words: "Yanfly paywalled his plugins = RPG Maker is dead". And about what KADOKAWA/DEGICA think, or will say, about this:
3 - It's also about the behavior of Kadokawa/Degica with Rpg Maker to launch a new engine that is in fact an update of the previous one, in this case, I'm talking about MV / MZ.It's very clearly an attempt to make the visustella 'brand' the default for rm users , which in itself would be completely fine - IF the people running the brand didn't work directly for Degica and have insider information. Because of that fact alone is just seems to me like people used that information to further their own greed fuelled endeavor.
"We have decided to make one thread to direct all questions and problems to, so that we don’t spam up the rest of the forums."
4 - With that said, I don't think you can answer in the name of the community or Kadokawa/Degica, about my complains and thoughts, since I made pretty clear that is not about you guys, but about the community behavior in general and the company. You guys are just another thing that happens that I quote on my post(Like yanfly paywall, people thinking there is only one plugin maker, MV not receiving any more updates besides the bugs on that the community already pointed out etc...), but it's not directly to you.
So that is the reason that I see to make a new thread.
Why couldn't this have just been a post on our thread instead of a whole new can of worms? You say you are not planning to boycott or treat VisuStella rudely, but making threads about us like this just invites more and more people to give their two cents and snowball into rants that are spoiling the mood of the whole forum. If you have something to say, please take it to our thread instead. This is needless.
AGAIN, that's not about you guys, you are not the center of the universe in my thread, here are some examples of that. I think you misunderstood the things I said, in the bigger picture, because I have quote the things that happened in the other threads about you too.
1- People don't search enough:
So, I started looking for other developers and realized that there were other plugins with similar functionality, which could be an alternative. So I started to exchange one here and one there. So I met: Galv, Hime, Victor, Sasuke, Srd and many others. But I found a favorite: Triacontanne. Although at least not in the "west" is as popular as yanfly, it has MANY plugins for many things! And I found that to be amazing! And he or she even had the concern to make many of them compatible with yanfly.
2 - People think they can do nothing without one plugin maker, and also, that RPG Maker is dead:
After a while, I saw that Yanfly put some of his free plugins to be paid for. And then I started to notice a hype in the community:
"Yanfly paywalled his plugins = RPG Maker is DEAD"
3 - Thats was a true comment, I'm not ironic:
If their plugins suit you, use it! Use your will. They have great plugins, from what I've seen so far.
4 - Trying to make users aware of this, since many have had problems with their long-term projects. And they will only discover afterwards that sometimes, making a patch is not viable or if feasible, very expensive for the user's pocket.
I just hope it can make users reflect that the community is made up of many people and not just one. And that, WITHOUT COMMUNITY, the RPG maker would be nothing. Literally. Only because of this community, this company can create hype and sell "new" software that should be an update. So I think the correct sentence is:
"No community = RPG Maker is dead".
...
I would just like to alert the community to this.
Many will make their games and get there at the end will realize that they will not have broad support as in the past because:
1 - Many programmers have already made it clear that they will not support them.
2 - If you want to make edits yourself, it will not be easy to remove obfuscation.
3 - You will have to ask for support only to them, you will practically only have an alternative in case of patches/extensions/compatibilities.
5 - I don't know how can I be more clear than that, I'm really sorry if you think that my intention is the opposite what I'm said here:
I have no intention of boycotting, being rude or offending Visustella or the users ... I was just bothered by this event and what it can bring to the community.
But in the end, now with the perspective of a plugin maker, they, Visustella, have the right to do whatever they want with their product. Like Kadokawa / Degica, it also has the right to do whatever they want with their software, to give copies to anyone they want at any time.
6 - I'm a consumer, and I'm giving my opinion about a service/product from a company that I'm a client:
So, despite being a community, I believe that some things we have to demand as a CONSUMER/CLIENT.
With that, I really think Kadokawa / Degica should have paid more attention to the MV. It may even be that some implementations they claim "impossible to launch as an update", like those made in the editor.
But at least the core code (RPG, managers, objects, window, sprites) and PIXI update could (and still can!) be done.
And I think for that, the community needs to be more active in questioning these things.
So as you see, I have a lot of reasons for doing a new thread and not post on your own, since they are not covering all the subjects that I put here. -
It's neither random, nor is it hostility.@VisuStella Are you guys regretting working on these plug-ins? lol. xD I really hope the random hostility dies down soon.
Obfuscation is an anti-community method. Does it protect the code? From amateurs, yes.
Now since the obfuscation train has started, it's only a question of time until other devs who do paid plugins also obfuscate.
And you know who's also eventually going to obfuscate? The thieves that Yanfly & Co see behind every other plugin dev.
The thieves that will be able to remove the obfuscation, then copy & slightly alter a plugin, then obfuscate it and sell it.
It won't stop stealing morons who want to profit off people's hard work - it will get in the way of the normal devs who will have problems and don't know or don't want to remove the obfuscation to ensure compatibility.
And in the past, you might've suspected foul play if someone did actually obfuscate their plugins. Now it'll help actual thieves hide their thievery. -
Uhm were are talking modern human being here so.... Everyone?! :pWho would've thought people hate free cookies?
-
@Anyone It is kinda hostile, though. You have people creating threads in which all they're doing is lamenting the end of the community, acting like divas, and saying how they'll never create plug-ins for MZ at all because of this.
Before the release of MZ, I saw quite a few coders in favour of commercialising plug-ins. Commercialised products need to be protected in some form. If that protection comes in the form of obfuscation, then so be it. It's effectiveness is another story entirely. -
I think a way to ease tensions regarding the o-word would be to allow for a JS function for the battle core where we can customize the battle windows. It seems like an odd absence to me and that's kind of the one thing I wanted to do the most with what's currently available.
Heck, I'm curious if there are plans for a Luna Engine MZ... I'm pretty sure work on that start since MV's infancy, incidentally.
Besides if there continues to be this aggression, I'm pretty sure Visustella will cease providing us with an already impressive basis. -
Yes actually as plugins are addition changes to the engine not something that comes with it. They are a bonus not an base requirement.Did you really think that rpgmaker was a way to have fun while making games the way you want with ease?
Uhm welcome to the way the real world works with any and all assets...No, from now, if you plan to use a plugin, you will have to use it THE WAY it was intended, we deny you of your free will to use the plugin the way you wanted!
Yeah news flash if you want something to do exactly what YOU want doing it yourself or paying someone to do it for you is normal procedure... Not moaning and attacking those that provide free things you might not like.you will have to take the time to deeply learn javascript to be able to do as you want
Just take one
