  1. I haven't played it yet, but I'm going to say that you are doing a great job keeping your game updated to make the game better. I've seen many developers who release their game and take criticisms too seriously or never release an update at all.

When I get the chance, I'll play the game and give you my thoughts on it as a whole. Good work, man. :)
  2. I made an account mostly to leave a comment.

I just got past the prologue and I have to say, are you sure you're a first timer?

Your game feels really polished, and after going through all three pages of comments here, I really believe this will become something amazing.

I'm terrible at non-linear games though, so expect me to write a better review once I've completed atleast all achievements.
  3. what means non-lenear?
  4. @Blue Symphony
That's fantastic, glad to hear you're enjoying the game! Let me know how you get on.

Bit surprised by some of those issues tbh. The bush actually only has a 1 in 5 chance of crashing the game and it's a relic of an old feature that's since been removed. It's the only one of it's kind after some checking so will be patched soon.

The Turtle golems are intentional but I'm thinking of making them less frequent and adding a bit of a text there. Possibly an npc that elludes to their existence.

The Cape surprisingly is a shield but more so a mage shield, similar to the Zephyr cape from FF1 Dawn of souls version. I could potentially change the icon or description there though.

Ah, didn't realise that last one. Cliff tiles of that colour will likely do that universally but I only found 2 other exceptions. Rather than change the tileset and risk messing up other areas I'll pop in a few obstacles as a quick fix.

Well I'm a bit too critical of whatever I'm working on, combined with a ton of procrastination this was the first project I could say I'm happy with and could feasibly complete. The game also went through a few overhauls and a move from vx ace to mv which was a bit messy.

Thanks for the high praise, it means a lot and it's great people are enjoying something I worked on.

I wouldn't worry about being bad at it, if an area does give you trouble you can always go back to it later. There's always the option to try and avoid encounters and loot some decent gear too!
  6. @Freank
Non-linear basically means you don't have to do things in a set order. You can choose the order of certain character routes and which dungeons you beat first.

    Game mechanics spoiler
There's even technically 2 final bosses with Titans of Illumia, either of which trigger the credits.
  7. I can't pick up the pickaxe in dwarf's cave. Did I do something wrong?
  8. @Gianmher
Sorry about that, should be fixed now. Have updated the download link with a fixed version.
  9. I accidentally deleted my save, and was fine with starting over cause why not, and I'm currently in the Knight Prologue and either I'm supposed to lose, or he'll just keep upping his defense and then killing me.

Did I do something wrong? xD Or am I missing something?
  10. @JayJayIsNotAJetPlane
    Have you checked recycle bin?
Against the Knight Spirit I'd recommend using Power Break, it resets physical buffs then lowers attack and defence.
  11. Is it true that after you acquire all contracts and rejoin, that your levels do not increase anymore? When I check status, says exp........ next........ and levels have not changed after plenty of fighting. One character is only at 900 HP
Others at 1000 or so(without stat raising equip). Elites, for instance, attack two characters at a time for 1240-1280 damage each.
Still looking for shovel and pickaxe. The mine is definitely a tough area, although doable.

If this is where I am to get the pickaxe, it does not respond to touch or action button.

  12. 1 - The Dual Shield is set as weapon and it isn't in the weapons item list
2 - The room with the flame bow in the Abyss Temple shut down the music even after left the room for a while
3 - If the timer of the Sentients boss get to 0, half scene will be repeat and game go freeze
4 - If the enemies approach you in the Abyss Temple, they don't start the battle. Only if you go in their direction
    the battle will start
  13. I am really glad to see you didn't give up on your project and that you continue to make corrections and fixes. I am going to download and play today and will post feedback soon.

EDIT: Soooooo, are you supposed to start in a seemingly random location with no introduction, no prologue, no indication of where to go, what to do, or who you are? Wandered around for about 10 mins, couldn't really DO anything, and then got stuck. Kept getting killed by the same enemy and it kept reloading in the exact same spot so I could just die again. I consider this unplayable.

Why does dying not take you back to the Title Screen like any other game? With no Escape option, you've created a guaranteed endless loop for any player that takes on an enemy they can't beat.

I need to do a better job of removing those numbers from the status menu tbh. Levels aren't supposed to be a thing and enemies don't drop exp. This is mainly so events can be done in a different order. The Elites are supposed to be pretty tricky, should be doable with new skills and equipment that can be found in the world. That does sound like quite a lot of damage though, which Elite was it specifically?
  15. @gvduck10
You are definitely not supposed to start there...
I did a quick fix to an issue and it was a bit rushed leaving the character in the wrong starting position.
Sorry that your first impression of the game was what I would definitely agree is an unplayable version of the game.
There's a new version up now if you're still willing to give it a go.
  16. @Gianmher
Thanks for letting me know, I'll have to do some extended testing for the sentient boss and the rest should be fixed soon.

So I have started playing and really like it so far. Love the new RMMV look - last games I made were on VX Ace. I REALLY enjoy smashing urns and chopping grass for coins - very Zelda of you. Everything seems great thus far. One thing I did notice though in the first dungeon....

    Spoiler
The Fighter gets poisoned a lot but there's no way to heal poison except by using the save point. Maybe change a few of those urns/chests to offer up antidotes instead of money (since you cant escape once you enter).

UPDATE: Got further this morning, the Demon Imp fight was really tough, but not impossible. I think it was good. LOVE the ability to change classes in battle. This is shaping up very nicely. I am just now to the water temple.

    Thanks for answering.

I think the Elite was in a house in the castle town to get the contents of a chest.

In case my image didn't come up, I found (I think), the pickaxe at the end of a mine/cave. It was on the top of a pile of dirt in the middle of a room on a raised area.
Would make sense it was there. Does not react to touch or action button.
    Did get the shovel, btw.
  19. @dnel57
No worries, I'm happy to make time for any questions.

I assume the room within the dwarf mines? That's been fixed in the most recent version. It wasn't an intractable object before.

Grats on the shovel, might be something in the area worth digging up...

I don't use the recycle bin, it's a memory and cpu hog so I disable it.

But I'm good now, I just lost, reloaded the save, and then he was defeated. I think it glitched out because I poisoned and burnt him...he probably didn't like that. xD
