    Thank you!

    What does the animations.json do?

p.s. congrats on your pack, it looks great

The animations.json is the file that saves all the animation settings in your Database. By providing the animations.json file to you, you can create a new project, copy my animation.json file and replace it over the one in the new project. By doing so you can copy/paste the animation entries directly from one project's Database to another without needing to put together the animation yourself from scratch.
  2. Ah, I see. But it doens't "prettify" the animations, if you know what I mean. I read something about them having 3 layers or so, for depth.
That should be perfectly achievable in VX Ace then, no?

Unfortunately I don't know what you mean. I also don't know what you mean by "3 layers or so for depth". Clarification?

Sorry I read something of the sorts while I was skimming through the topic in this post:

And when I downloaded the .zip there were several files called Dark Dark_1 Dark_2 (name's an example). I hought it might be related to your .json file.

Okay I think now I get it.

No, the animation.json does not add anything to the animation themselves. All it does is allow for users who are not familiar with making their own animations within the Database to be able to copy/paste the animation as shown here in the preview. If you have a solid understanding of how to use different animation sheets within the Maker through the Database, then you're not missing out on anything even if you don't have the animations.json.

Since I don't have VX Ace's equivalent of MV's animations.json, VX Ace users will have to manually set their own animations through the Database. I don't know if VX Ace has the same blending modes as MV, but since you are using the same animation sheets independent of the program, the visual effect should theoretically be the same.

If you need assistance on how to go about implementing my animation sheets into VX Ace, I'm going to have to ask you to ask the question elsewhere, since I would prefer to keep this post focused on releases.
  6. I think I'll be able to get the implementation to work :)  thanks for the clarification.
  7. Congrats on the pack release! Loving it!

Also, thanks for continuing to give out free contents as well. I do hope to see more packs coming soon too!

    Good luck, hadecynn! :)

  8. Quick question on the pack,  are the animations split apart for some modification (Obviously a lot of those cannot be)?

ex: rapid punch animation having a sheet for a single of those punches.  For advanced users to create a full screen version of the effect, combine with other sheets to create a fire punch like effect, or just to control the timing of the punches for a sideview system.

I made a post specifically for Quintessence in Product Support:

But I'll answer this one here.

As of now, the animations are not split into components due to both complexity as well as considerations for making it plug-and-play/user-friendly to novice users. Having said that, I AM considering releasing component sheets as a potential candidate for the eventual product update freebie. What I'll most likely end up doing is to make a list of things that I could offer as product updates, and let you guys vote on it in the thread I mentioned. My priority will depend on the aggregate user demands.
  10. New animations! And congratulations on releasing a resource pack!

Sadly, right now I'm out of money... XD
  11. Just got the resource pack. Great job on those animations! They're wonderful.

Thank you for your patronage! =)
  13. Adding to my list - will be updated soon. Thanks for posting.
  14. Purchased it :D Thanks! Having issues with Actors.json loading, even when I overwrite it.

Thank you for your patronage! Actors.json should be completely unrelated to my animations. Can you specify what the problem is?
  16. It's in your test file after I purchased it. Just says it wouldn't load; anyway, I just took the animation file and then placed it into a new test file and i was able to extract the animations.

Hmm... I've looked into this but can't seem to be able to replicate the problem. On my end the Demo runs perfectly fine, so the only thing I can think of is that something might have gone amiss when Degica was putting together the zip file for distribution? Let me wait on this a little to see if other people encountered the same problem.
  18. Good morning RPG Maker Forums!

Since I'll be on a plane tomorrow, I'm releasing this week's animation today. A lot of you have been asking for magic animations that do not fall in the traditional elemental categories. Well, here you go!

  19. Wow! That one could fit for both damaging spells as for status-inducing ones
  20. I like it as I also see it being used as a sci-fi electric effect.
