  1. This is awesome! You're amazing!
    Great Job! :D
  2. Good evening RPG Maker Forums!

Apologies for the delay on today's release, I will be uploading a new animation tomorrow.

I spent the entire day today finishing the thing that I can't talk about... yet.

    ...

    ...soon.
  3. @hadecynn - Careful, soon is trademarked.

So you could be sued and thrown in jail and slapped with a fish and only can eat rocks for the rest of your life, if caught,

    which would happen soonTM
  4. Good evening RPG Maker Forums!

Today's release is an experimental exercise looking at a new method to generate highlight and shades in animations. Those of you who are familiar with image editing and the MV 1.1 update were probably just as excited as I was about getting the options to use Multiply and Screen for blend modes. Of course, it's a shame that we still don't have cool stuff like Overlay, but at least these options have given us ways to create more responsive colors.

Of course, the problem is that if you can't separate the lighter parts of a cell from the darker parts, then having these different blend modes doesn't really do you any good if you want them to occur in the same animation. Therefore, today's release was an experiment to see what would happen by separating the dark/light layers and re-integrating them back through MV's animation tool.

For those that have no idea what I'm talking about above, load the View attachment Animations.json and compare EngineFire to EngineFireLayered to see the difference (you have to have all 3 animation sheets).

  5. These are all SO amazing! I would love to learn how to make these! You have a very rare skill set :D  Thanks for sharing it with us!
  6. Oh that protect.exe is SO beautiful *v* I'm a huge sucker for hexagons.
  7. That's a pretty amazing Protect animation. So cool, and perfect for sci-fi games (even fantasy ones too).
  8. Good afternoon RPG Maker Forums!

For those of you that missed it, there was a release on Saturday (Protect.EXE) that I had to add through editing the post on Friday (Engine Fire) due to forum rules. Its on the previous page, go take a look if you haven't already.

Anyway, for today, we have one of the elements that was listed on the survey but didn't score that high. Nevertheless, it is a theme that I've wanted to try in a while, so here we are.

  9. It's... beautiful!!! :D
  10. That's such an awesome animation! I've always missed nature-based animations in RPG Maker's VX Ace's and MV's RTP. The closest thing from a nature animation in that versions is one of the Bind animations, which shows luminous vines binding the target. However, it won't look 'natural' at all since the vines are just energy constructs instead of living plants.

The lack of animations for elements other than the common ones (Fire, Ice, Thunder, Darkness etc) not only prevents us from implementing ideas that are different from the majority of the RPGs but also give us a hard time when making fangames that contain uncommon elements (e.g. if I wanted to make a Pokémon fangame, the only way I could create animations for new Grass-type moves would be making them by myself. However, not everyone can do it).

Keep making these amazing animations, man ^^

  11. Like the charge a lot. Got a few ideas on what to do with it.
  12. That would be useful for casting physical (or at least non-magic) skills
  13. Good afternoon RPG Maker Forums!

The intention for today's release isn't so much a battle animation as it is just a utility animation, but I guess it's possible to use this in battle as well?

  14. *raises eyebrows* I was just going to use one of the Wind animations, but this works too!
  15. I have to say that's a pretty useful animation. I could use it for a Teleport skill that I already made in case you want to leave the dungeon. However, the Teleport Script that I'm using is now totally worthless to me now. And I will get myself a new Teleport skill script.
  16. That looks pretty cool. Could make a good skill out of it. X3
  17. Good morning RPG Maker Forums.

As you have probably noticed, I haven't been updating according to schedule in the past few days. I apologize.

Unfortunately, there's been a number of changes in my life/work schedule that's now taking up a lot of my time, and I don't think that I'll be able to maintain the current update schedule while maintaining the standard of quality in what I release. I'd like to ask for your understanding as I take a brief break to figure out how to best fit the Animations Archive into my new schedule.

    Regards,

    hadecynn
  18. That's fine, hadecynn! You've already been providing amazing work. Hope life/work is going fine on you :)
