I just finished watching your gameplay. I actually was very nervous at first, but you seemed appreciative and cool from the beginning, so I felt more at ease very soon and just enjoyed the watch hahaha.

Long over due for a new Unsolicited Let's Play!

Today I'm checking out Mechanical Throb. Weird title, I know. This game has absolutely gorgeous pixel art and some neat world building. The busts, character sprites, and maps are just absolutely adorable. It's got some good music, there's rtp sounds and some tiles here and there but it's all used rather well.

While there's no spelling errors, the dialogue really needs to be gone over by a editor/translator. There's an over abundant use of ellipsis, if you can even call them that since they're 6 dots long instead of 3. There's several times where there are 3 or more dialogue boxes just full of them. I started having a little bit of fun with it by making fart noises everytime they showed up which was a lot. There's quite a few lines that need to be rewritten as they don't make much sense.

Another big error is pronouns. I believe one of the main characters is a girl/woman but is referred to as he/him throughout the demo. (Edited: after speaking with the dev, it is in fact male, so my bad) And another time when they are talking about a possible "daughter, sister, or nephew" which should be niece. I understand that English is not their first language, so an editor or translator would really be beneficial.

All that said, it's a really well put together puzzle game with charming aesthetics.

This was submitted by the dev. It's a little rough around the edges and could use some more polish and direction for the player. It also could use some proof reading or better translation. Not bad for a game jam game.

Got a chance to play an early version of Dungeon Rummage Origins. Pretty solid so far, excellent mapping, interesting story, combat isn't bad. It takes about an hour for the story to get going, so I'm going to play some more of this next week or so and see where it takes us. Great job so far, @SGHarlekin

Finishing up Dungeon Rummage Origins. Nicely done demo! I had an issue with my controller on my end that I didn't get cleared up until halfway through the video, my bad. This game has balanced and engaging combat with well done tight and snappy action sequences. Great little rewards for exploration. I don't think there's a map without a chest or something to check out. The story gets better and more intriguing the longer I got into the game. The story has a mix of mystery and the classic hero's journey. The characters are interesting enough, Dunstan is our young every man. Thaz is a tough take no prisoners orc lady and Allannia is a dutiful mage working for the king. Thaz personality really shines in her dialogue and has the best characterization in the demo. Allannia is a little flat by comparison and I would imagine further in the game we'll learn more about her.

I think buying flat upgrades to the characters instead of gear and levels is an interesting concept. The demo was well balanced and even though I came close to being wiped out, I never felt like the fights were too hard or unfair. Dunstan did get ko'd and I wasn't able to revive him with the revival items, so I guess that's a bug.

This is all nitpicking stuff and just some thoughts:
I wouldn't mind getting Thaz as a party member just a tad bit earlier, like for instance with the bandits just to have a little bit more time with her before the story and battles start ramping up. Her joining the party is a little abrupt. Allannia joining is also abrupt but kind of ties in with the story better. Maybe a little back and forth between her and the other party members while traveling to the dungeon or something, so we can get to know her personality more, instead of just the devout servant of the king. I also wouldn't mind a little more world building early on about the dungeons and dungeon cores although leaving on the mystery/cliffhanger without knowing too much about what's going on was executed really well.

All in all, great job, wonderful demo!
