  1. Single Actor System
    Version 1.2
By Magnus0808 || Magnus Rubin Peterson

    Introduction
This plugin makes it so you skip actor selection. It is supposed to be used for games where there only are a single actor, which makes it pointless to select the actor when they are the only option.

I originally made this plugin as a request. However, some people have asked me to make an official thread for it so here it is :)

    Features
    • Skip actor selection for "Skill window"
    • Skip actor selection for "Equip window"
    • Skip actor selection for "Status window"
    • Skip actor selection in battle
    • Skip actor selection for item/skill use
    • Notetag for item/skill to ignore this plugin
    • (optional) Show full status window in main menu instead of the default menu status window
    • (optional) Only use the features of the plugin when you have a single actor in the party
    How to use
Just plug and play. However, if you want to use the full status window in the main menu you can set that in the plugin parameters.

It should be noted that it is always the default status menu that will be shown in the main menu, so if you have a custom status window then you might want to opt out for this feature.

You can remove the formation command under "System" in the database. And if you use the option to show the full status window in the main menu then you can also remove the status command there.

If you want an item or skill to ignore this plugin use the following notetag:
    <IgnoreSingleActorSystem>

  2. You might like to add to your Terms whether or not this can be reposted or if people must link back to this page. I know a lot of plugin and script writers don't like having possibly out of date versions of their work floating around the internet. Up to you.
  3. Been looking for this specific mod, many thanks, muchly appreicted!

    Coops
  4. Hello !
Thanks for this very effective and useful plugin but I'm having an issue with it !
I have an object (key object) which can be used from the inventory and launch a common event. but when I use it (with your plugin active) I have the Reference Error : System_Action is not defined.
When I use it with your plugin turned off it works normaly.
Maybe someone know why it does that and how I can fix it !?
    Anyway, thanks for you contribution.
  5. Thank you very much for reporting the bug! Honestly amazing I hadn't noticed before... When I initially renamed the plugin from Single Actor Game to Single Actor System I accidently changed Game_Action to System_Action too... Oops :rswt

I have fixed and pushed the fix now so just go ahead and download the plugin again :)
  6. Awesome !!!! Thanks for your reactivity !
  7. @Magnus0808 This is a pretty good plugin.

A problem though, when I have multiple actors on screen, it still behaves as if it's one actor in the menu.

The plugin was designed for games which only have a single actor throughout the entire game. However, as I understand, you wish for an option to only use the effects of the plugin when you have a single actor in the party but otherwise use the normal functionality? If so then you're in luck as I just updated the plugin to allow for this just for you.

All you have to do is download the plugin again and set the new option "Only Single Actor" in the plugin parameters to true and you're good to go :)
  9. @Magnus0808 I really appreciate that! I do have one more thing to ask of you.

I have just one skill that's used for checking stats and information and because of a plugin I'm using, I can select both actors and enemies. Is it possible to make an exception in battle through the use of a notetag with skills like this?
  10. For a game that only has one actor most, but not ALL, of the time, is it possible to toggle this plugin on/off with a switch?

whoops, see you already answered my question in the OP, disregard

Sure, I made a notetag <IgnoreSingleActorSystem> which will allow you to make items or skills ignore this plugin. Just download the new version :)

That is fair. I only really made the functionality for that today anyway XD

Hey man, this is a great work! do you have this plugin for MZ?
  13. (Hopefully this isn't old enough to be considered necroposting :kaoswt2:)

I'm honestly not sure if i'm misusing this plugin, or if it might be clashing with my other plugins, but the actor selection window will still pop-up in the main menu while using a custom menu whenever you choose the commands status, skill and equip just like normal, instead of just going directly to the next screen like i wish it did.

    Example:
    1641625150961.png

Shouldn't that be one of the screens that get removed by this plugin?
Instead i want it to skip that window on the right and just go directly to this one, for example:
    1641625262505.png

This plugin is already above all of my other plugins, so i really don't know if it's malfunctioning or if i'm messing something up here.
    My plugin list:

    1641625451043.png

    Please help :kaocry:
  14. I’m not at home right now so I cannot do testing. However, it might be clashing with another plugin. Try playing it at the bottom of the plugin list instead and see if that helps :)
  15. I did some more trouble-shooting and found the culprit, which is just the Ritz_Menu.js plugin.

Where i place the single actor plugin doesn't really matter, it'll work as long as the Ritz_Menu is deactivated, but once it's active, single actor will either get cancelled out if it's at the top and do nothing, or cause a crash with a message that says "cannot read property 'actorId' of undefined" if i place it at the bottom. That doesn't happen if Ritz_Menu is off.

    1641673882796.png

So it's entirely a compatibility error. :kaocry:
I don't know if you'd be willing to help me fix it as i really don't know anything about scripting, and i understand that this plugin is kinda old/you're not available atm, but if you were to lend me a hand whenever you're able to get the time i'd appreciate it a lot.

EDIT: Adding the Ritz_Menu and it's complementary Torigoya_Tween plugin as attachments just in case you'd like to test it out yourself, they should go in that same exact order in the plugin manager.
  16. Try placing this right after Ritz_Menu. All it does is replacing "Scene_Menu.prototype.onPersonalOk" with the default one from rpg_scenes.js. This should hopefully fix the issue. So the order of the related plugins should be:
    1. Torigoya_Tween.js
    2. Ritz_Menu.js
    3. MRP_SingleActorSystem_RitzMenuFix.js
    4. MRP_SingleActorSystem.js
If it does not work, let me know :)
  17. It works!! Thank you so much :kaoluv:
  18. Thank you for your work on this. I tried to use this in an MZ project and it seems to work perfectly, with one exception: the "status at menu" setting doesn't work. This is on a fresh project with no other plugins. Is there any chance there's a small change that could make this compatible?

You're in luck. You're actually not the first person to ask me to do this. The attached version should work in MZ.

    Edit: removed attached file
  20. That's great! But when I place it into the game and try to open the menu, I get the crash "TypeError: Assignment to constant variable". This happens even if I disable all other plugins. It could be some sort of error on my end, of course, but does that mean anything to you?
