All right then, here's the rest. Again some are shorter, and if I missed anyone just slap me and I'll go find it.
Last Minute Xmas Shopping (Gensun)
A pretty funny little story. A very energized beginning that was the highlight to me. Kind of felt like all the options were bad, but I think that was the point, or at least part of the joke.
The Worst Noel (Trihan)
Wasn’t expecting narration. Took some getting used, but I wouldn’t call it bad, and was still a nice surprise. I just did the nice ending, but I still got to see several of the minigames, and I think they were all well-done. The narration had a number of funny lines, and I liked seeing all of the pun names.
Krampus games (ZombieKidzRule)
Huh, this was not something I expected. Both in terms of tone and visuals. Using stock photos (I assume) and moves through them in more of a Visual Novel format was an interesting way to use the engine. The tone confused me a little. Much of this was very serious and dark in tone, but frequently used childish words and language that contrasting the darker tone. So I think that the intent was horror-comedy, but I’m not sure.
The opening was long, maybe a little too long, as I did feel like the tension left somewhat before I was introduced to the player character.
The game sadly plays into a pet peeve of mine, that I dislike games making a lot of assumptions about me and judging me based on giving me skewed options. It’s a whole, complicated thing, but I could deal with it for the shorter game here.
Ended up trying the Krampus Triple Play game, but I’m not sure if there was more to it than chance. (addendum: by this, I mean I wasn't sure if there was an element that I was missing, not just a cliche criticism of RNG)
Fable of the Lonely Tree (Wifi)
A short and sweet story. Clearly more concerned with the story than gameplay, but I’m not complaining. Some grammar/spelling errors, but not enough to take me out of the story. The music choice really helped the melancholy and bittersweet feel of the story.
Harold’s Xmas (Moz the Tiger)
A fun story, and I must admit I didn’t see it coming. The villain was decently entertaining and the puzzles, while the kinds that I’ve seen before, were well-executed and of good difficult.
Jolly Holly Time (Slimmmeiske2)
A pretty nice little store simulator. Not sure if there’s a fail state, but it might have just been intended to be easy. Nice music choice for this. Not much else to say . . .
Ryuusei’s Christmas Cuisine (BabaElena)
Okay, so I got to the end and the game locked up, but I don’t know if this has been fixed already.
Until that point though, I had a good enough time, I’m not sure what the fail state is, or what I’m being judged by other than time, but I enjoyed the task well enough. I assume that there would have been some scoring afterward based on timing or putting an appropriate meal plan together (I don’t know half of the choices though). A lot of unique character art and backstories (my understanding was that this is a spin off of your main project?).
Sleighs, Bells, and Customer Service (BobbyLilly)
A nice enough little memory/sales game, but with some funny interactions with other characters. I liked the art and the cozy atmosphere the tone conveyed. Not much else to say, though.
Light up the Night (Aqua Echo)
Hmm, pretty short and simple, but still had a nice feel from the good music and maps. Did it twice to get the nice ending, but I don’t have much to say here.
Shadows of the Earth: A Christmas Story (Erif)
Interesting combat system, but it escalates a lot for the final fight, and it was chaotic enough that I just relied on simple positioning and attacks without diving into the skills, but I think I’ll go back to try it again. The story was straightforward, but there was clearly a lot of context to the characters that left me in the dark a lot. I was able to still follow the story anyway, however, which takes some skill.
Slight bug, the conversation with the baker is repeatable at the beginning, leading to me hearing two screams, it didn’t seem to interfere with the game progression though.
The Freelance Elf (TeiRaven)
This was a simple, but lovely story. Touring a small town, just being nice to people is an experience. One hard to capture I would say, but well worth the effort, and I must say that in my mind at least you succeeded. This was one of the few (so far) that got an emotional response with me, and in such a short time, that’s saying something.
On a smaller note, I really liked that several of the townspeople had unique ‘voices’, something I really like seeing done when there isn’t voice acting.
Zigo Saves Christmas (Adam Willard)
Sadly, I can’t say much here other than that the pseudo 3D map looks really neat. While I can see what you going for in platforming, the controls felt awful. Once I figured out what the double jump was supposed to be, it still feels unresponsive and almost random if it will actually work.
Harold Something Whatever Christmas (Aesica)
Short and sweet. A couple of decent puzzles, fair number of jokes, and a (mostly) good fight. The first time I tried the fight I got stunlocked to death, but the second time it worked fine and was a fairly fun and close fight. I also really liked the music choices.
