  1. Hi. 

    If you want people to be interested you will need to be more specific about the storyline (because, please don't take it wrong, the way you introduce it here sounds really like "your generic rpg story"). Also it would be good you add more about the universe, characters etc so that people don't get the feelling they're going to throw in their skills for someone who didn't work that much on the project. Also, there are some things that are wrong with the mapping (you'd better make two tile high houses to add windows , some trees are oddly placed and the horse path looks a bit empty to me on the road part. There might be other things I just tell you what I noticed quickly.)

    This said, wish you the best with your project and don't hesitate to ask if you need any advice! :)

    Edit : also, just saw your tags "action packed" "amazing story" "emotional" well... when stating such things from the get go, people will expect you to back it up. Also, I think that having an amazing story etc is the goal of 99% of the rpg making community when making a game. (Even me who is prone to make games furiously inspired by stuff like Monty Python still try to give emotional parts and an amazing story). 

    Better you describe what kind of gameplay you're looking after for exemple, the tone of the story (is it sad? Is it "kawaii"? Is it in a world full of cynical dorks? Or inversely in a nice sunny place with nice little fairies etc... ) 
  2. Thanks @lars Ulrika for the comments.  I have started realizing that my thread is um...small and non-descriptive so I intend to edit it.  So appreciate the criticism!

    also I know about the tile high buildings its just I always thought the buildings were too big (prob have played to much pokemon :p ) anyway I can I edit this thread (I'm still quite new to the forums)

    also how do you suppose I could "spice" up the horse path.

  3. Glad I could help :) . Yes, these small houses were somehow really "game boyish" hehehe. :)

    About the horse road I would advice you to make it simply more narrow first, and then break this grass line in the middle. Also don't forget the rtp provides you with different types of grass to mess around with. Some high herbs here and there would also do the trick I guess.

  5. I'm inexperienced in designing games, but have some ideas on boss designs.

    The game I'm working on has terrible scenery (not much stuff in it), but the class design and boss design seem to shine.  The classes are Warrior (physical tank), Cleric (fragile healer/ strong magical offense), Sorcerer (magic tank), and Rouge (physical powerhouse with high crit).  The tank classes can use certain abilities to either make the creatures almost certainly target them or be able to deal more damage at the cost of taking more damage.  The cleric's TGR is only 20% to prevent a game over just because enemies decide to rape the healer (I will use a front line, back line system when I figure out how to script that).  There is only three bosses created atm, the first one is easy, just have the physical tank use taunt (provoke) and the magic tank use guardian's shield (taunt and increases mdf at the cost of mat) when it gives the cue that it's below 50% hp and it's down easy.  The second boss is just stock until it gets below 20% hp, then it does heavy party wide damage that you can't heal through, so you got to nuke it.  The third boss often uses an ability that stuns and causes the target to bleed (heal that person to full and it will disappear), and every five turns will either increase its mat at the cost of mdf or increase its atk at the cost of def, each last five turns (you get buffs that almost neutralize his extra damage and others increase your damage in order to take advantage of his lowered defenses).  And keep in mind that every boss has a turn limit and will insta-kill your party after 20 turns so you got to stay on the offensive as much as you can while staying alive.  As long as you know the boss patterns, then you can win every time.

Wow this class system and boss system are really well done!, I definitely want a varied boss system a class system for I enjoyed playing secret of mana as a kid, and how the people in the group had different weapons and such always was cool but there was no "upgrades" to the class really.  Is it possible to implement this into an ABS? that is my favorite style of battling and I am implementing that into SS (Soul Sanctum). Also are you signing up to be a team member? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME IF YOU ARE!

  11. HI, I have been looking for a project to put some real time in to and this looks interesting. Yes I have me own project but it is more of a learning exercise for me as I like to try everything possible when it comes to making games. I have some interesting ideas on story plots an twists, well I think their interesting aha :D . And enjoy mapping a lot. I have edited 90% of resources in my own project to fit my own needs within editor mapping and think you can get some great results with out resorting to parallax maps.

    This link is to the early project feedback page of my own game, the demo is outdated a little so if you wanted to play what I have to see what I have done with out help or real input let me know and I will link you to a newer demo.

    I definitely need more eventers, this game has LOTS of events and I know eventing can be tiring so more eventers are always awesome! also with the logo, I do want to make a better logo, however I want to work with you on it so I can make sure it is the way I want.  ANYWAY welcome to the team @Ultim!

    @TartanMonkey YOUR MAPPING IS AMAZING HOLY COW (or monkey :p ) I also I'm interested is some more of your story ideas.  With the menu that was on your thread, I don't know if I want it that way, for I'm still thinking how I want the menu designed. (thought of like a ring menu like in secret of mana) anyway welcome to the team!

  14. The menu on my game I have customised, There are plenty of ring menu scripts that work really well. Every aspect of things can be customised given the time and patience to figure it out. Question why is the main character walking down the main path and how do they fit in to the game world?? Pm me any story ideas you want me to look at and give my opinion.

    Some of my ideas for games are like hummmm

    One idea I had was that the main character had memory loss and they end up journeying round the world gathering energies from elemental spirits that help him regain his memory. AS the story unfolds you learn more of your character and the final punch line is that when you get to meet the evil guy you find out that it is actually you, and you travelled from the future in order to stop yourself destroying the word, but something went wrong causing your memory loss.

    And thanks for the vote of confidence in my mapping :D
  15. I like that bit of story! and do you have any ring menu scripts that I could use?

    btw I like how you think with stories and I think you can help me with what I have so far.  Also Kory has some good ideas so the three of us can work together on the story.

    also I want to know if ALL TEAM MEMBERS HAVE SKYPE

    that way we could have a meeting on production
