Project processing takes forever

  1. Hi,

Okay, erm, I got myself thr RPG Maker VX Ace Programm a few weeks ago from that steam sale. I have been reading tutorials, trying out stuff, making my own first game. But after a while I noticed that certain options take forever to finish. I speak of options like: "New project", "Open project", "Save project" and "Projectmanagement".

Well, when I was looking for a topic with a similiar issue I found this one:

    http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/27599-very-long-saving/?hl=%2Blong+%2Bsaving+%2Btime

I read this topic, thought about it and couldn't make an egg of it. Im hardly familiar with steam and even less with its' cloud option, so I'm kind of stuck here. Could you help me, please?

    Thanks and greetings

  2. open the steam library, right-click on the RPG Maker and then select properties. Check the different tabs

If you don't need the cloud or the workshop, you can disable both - if steam has nothing to synchronise, then it will not need that much time.

Or you could try to find the reason why steam synchronisation takes that much time - it might be a wrong firewall setting or a problem with your antivirus or whatever.
  3. Okay, so I disabled Steam Overlay, Steam Cloud Synchronisation and I always start RM VX Ace in Steam-Offline Mode. Afterwards I closed RM and Steam, restartet but the issue continues. While browsing through the properties of RM in Steam I found this "Set starting options" button. Its pretty funny that the new window tells me this option is only for advanced users. Well, it's funny considering myself. Anways, can I use this option to start RM independent from steam?

Oh, by the way, is "disabling the workshop" something else I just missed? Where can I find it? All I found was "Steam-Overlay" under general and "Steam Cloud Syn" under Updates in properties.
  4. You disable the steam workshop in the beta settings, select the program version without workshop
  5. Alright! Here we go!

I did what you said aaaaaaaaand it's gone. The waiting time is gone. Thank you very much.

It keeps starting steam in offline mode anyways but I guess I can't get rid of it since I bought it via steam. Ahh man, I'm so happy. Now I can work without forced breaks. Thank you, thank you =)
