Hi, I'm a Norwgian gamemusic composer and guitarist located in London. I would love to write more music for games and I'm a big fan of the Adventure and RPG genres. I've recently been working on small pieces as a showcase:

Hey, been a while
So I can finally record guitars. I am kind of bad, so be kind (but critics about recording and mixing are welcome)

Man, it has been forever since I shared something here! Life... Love it and hate it at the same time :D



I decided to restart with my 60 minute challenges :D I created a small app that gives me a completely random assignment (often impossible like in this case). I present you: Chicago Is Great! My first time writing Chicago blues.

Nice! I heard some issues with the melody. It clashed with the riff a bit but with more work it will be good =) The quality was good, tone of the guitar was really cool. Just pay attention to the balance in the mix – both in volume and panning. I suggest having two guitar tracks that are similar in tone but not the same. Pan them hard left and hard right.

@YagamiKyo Not bad! I'm not very knowledgeable with guitars considering I've never tried composing with them. But, I like it. A major is an interesting key to start with. This sounds like it'd be in a Sonic game (when they were actually good :aswt:).

@taistelusopuli Thanks! I actually have two guitar tracks with the same tone panned left and right for rhythm. I didn't think about doing it for the lead as well. And yeah, it was just a simple test, so not a lot of mixing. I learnt that recording is pretty hard, considering haha

Hi there!

Very new to the forums so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place!

As well as making a game on MV I'm in a band called "The Working Man" and we have just released our new EP "I can't believe it's not dogger"
We're an alternative rock band from the U.K and our lyrics can be very naughty at times but the characters in the songs are the inspiration for my game.
The songs are currently being reworked into an 80's synth sort of style for the game and each Boss will have his own "Theme Music"

I gave your album a listen, and I must say it's very interesting.
The ambience is really nice, it feels tense and overall enjoyable (That last piano song man <3).
You should be careful though, as some songs were clipping at time, so check your mix before exporting your songs.
Also the songs seemed a bit out of place, by that I mean there wasn't any noticeable link between each song (even a crossfade would have done the job, as some songs just stopped instantly).

But yeah, good work!


Really muddy low-end, EQ the low frequencies out of instruments that don't need them (even the bass doesn't need to have such low frequencies, I find that my bass can start at 50 Hz at least)
The melody on the guitar is good (and no, you're not "kind of bad"). If you really wanted to make it more interesting I'd avoid staying too much on the half-beats, add some grace notes and stuff, as it can sound "MIDI" very quick.


Very nice! Will the game OST have vocals as well or is it only going to be an instrumental remix?


Low end is really loud, with orchestral songs you want brighter mixes.
Also I'm hearing some clipping, be careful with that.
But still, nice song! I'd definitely see that being used in a game.

As for me I haven't been active recently in terms of music, I released a song only yesterday after two months of absence.
But this song I released is a very important one for me, as I worked on it for several months. It's a remix of Lionhearted by Porter Robinson, in an orchestral style.

Er~ Here's a demo of a track I'm working on (I'm out of ideas for now). Serveral notes are out of key and I intended to do that but it doesn't work as I expected.

No vocals just instrumental, I don't know why but I can't stand voices in games or vocals in the songs haha.

This song is from video game Shadow of the Ninja by Natsume. I love the boss battle theme but I made the arranged.....remade....I donno but it's not 8-bits sounds. Lower the tempo, lower the key, with electric guitar and piano....

@YagamiKyo Yeah! I really like your little guitar solo recording. Kinda has that Modern Rock feel.

Hmmm...I'm not much of a sound engineer, or music composer, but I am a bit of a songwriter.

However, since this appears to be a 'post your music' and not a 'post your lyrics' page, I'll refrain (but there is no topic for lyrics at all).

@Reapergurl Why don't you make your own thread for that, then? ('Cause I wanna see! XD).
